Pills are made using date pulp, sized like Sophora japonica seeds. Each dose is 50-70 pills, taken with rice water on an empty stomach. There was a person who could not eat at all, and spleen-tonifying medicines were ineffective. I taught him this prescription, and after taking it, he could eat immediately. This disease should not be treated solely as spleen deficiency. It is because kidney qi is timid, deficient and weak, and true yuan is declining and poor, so naturally it cannot digest food. It is like placing various grains in a cauldron; without fire, even if left all day, the grains will not cook, let alone be digested. Huang Luzhi once recorded taking Cuscuta (Tusizi), washed clean, soaked in wine, dried, and fried daily for several spoons, taken with wine. After ten days, appetite increased greatly, like hot water poured on snow melting quickly. The principle is the same.
