障翳这种疾病，根源在于风热毒气，蕴积在脏腑之中，向上冲犯并激发眼目，凝结搏结而形成。因为眼睛是五脏精华的外在表现，也是肝脏功能的外候。如今风邪毒热停留在脏腑内，无法宣泄，向上冲入眼睛，所以形成障翳。初期表现为眼睑隐涩、发红疼痛，逐渐形成翳膜遮挡视线。
决明散（出自《圣济总录》），治疗眼目各种陈年障翳、新生肉、赤肿疼痛。
药材：石决明、草决明、青葙子、甘草（炙后锉碎）、黄柏（去除粗皮）、黄连（去除须根）、谷精草、龙骨、白芷、蒺藜子（炒后去掉刺）、蝉蜕、硫黄（温水洗净）、虎睛（日...二七日其眼好安然。眼根枯死者不治。活者通翳。如烦恼伤酒色。遇风两眼中泪出疼痛者。即是活眼。若或者眼无泪。不疼痛者。即为死眼。更不用治。一方有用极明谷精草。忌毒鱼面蒜猪肉酒色等。

The disease of nebulae (cataracts/ocular opacities) originates from wind-heat toxic qi, which accumulates within the Zang-Fu organs, rushes upward to stimulate the eyes, and condenses to form. Since the eyes are the external manifestation of the essence of the five Zang organs and serve as an external indicator of the Liver, when wind-pathogens and toxic heat remain stagnant in the Zang-Fu without being vented, they rush upward into the eyes, thus causing nebulae. Initially, there is a sensation of grittiness, redness, and pain; gradually, a membrane forms to obstruct vision.
