Fengzhu (Wind-Attaching Disease) is caused by the deficiency of the body's healthy qi, allowing wind-pathogenic factors to invade and lodge in the Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) levels. The pathogenic factors wander throughout the body, lingering and attaching to specific areas, hence the name Fengzhu. Its manifestations include twitching and trembling of the skin and muscles, and patients afflicted may exhibit erratic speech or muttering.

Jinya San (Gold Tooth Powder): Treats wind-pathogenic Fengzhu qi, as well as various toxins, miasma, and epidemic toxic factors in the southern regions; also treats weakness and swelling/pain in the legs, and damp-bi syndrome.
Ingredients: Jinya (Gold Tooth, *Aeschinomene indica* root powder, 1 liang), Yuanqing (Blister Beetle, *Mylabris phalerata*, feet removed, stir-fried with bran, 27 pieces), Banmao (Mustard Beetle, *Mylabris cichorii*, wings and feet removed, stir-fried, 7 pieces), Xionghuang (Realgar, *Realgar*), Tingchang (Mustard Beetle larva/pupa variant, wings and feet removed), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root, *Saposhnikovia divaricata*, forked heads and skin removed), Songzhi (Pine Resin, *Pinus resin*), Ji (Spurge Root, *Euphorbia pekinensis*, baked/shao), Shanglu (Phytolacca Root, *Phytolacca acinosa*), Shujiao (Sichuan Pepper, *Zanthoxylum bungeanum*, eyes and closed-mouth varieties removed), Fanshi (Alum, *Alumen*, calcined). Process into a powder, place half a liang in a crimson silk pouch, and carry it on the person.

Xiao Jinya San (Small Gold Tooth Powder): Treats wind-pathogenic Fengzhu qi, miasma and epidemic qi, and leg weakness.
Ingredients: Jinya (Gold Tooth, *Aeschinomene indica* root powder, 1 liang 1 fen), Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis, *Bovis Calculus*, powdered, 1 fen), Tianxiong (Aconitum Lateralis Radix Praeparata, *Aconitum carmichaelii* lateral root, processed until cracked, skin and navel removed), Biba (Dioscorea Hypoglauca Rhizome, *Dioscorea hypoglauca*, stir-fried, each 0.5 liang), Weirui (Polygonatum Rhizome, *Polygonatum sibiricum*, 3 qian), Wugong (Centipede, *Scolopendra subspinipes*, head and feet removed, stir-fried, 3 qian), Xionghuang (Realgar, *Realgar*), Lian (Coptis Rhizome, *Coptis chinensis*, rhizomes removed), Xixin (Asarum Root, *Asarum heterotropoides*, 3 qian).

Xixin San (Asarum Powder, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats Fengzhu where pathogenic qi enters the skin, causing sensations like insects crawling; stiffness and rigidity of the waist and spine; "Wu Huan Liu Ji" (five types of flaccidity and six types of spasticity); spasms and contractures of the hands and feet; and dull pain.
Ingredients: Xixin (Asarum Root, *Asarum heterotropoides*, 1 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Root, *Panax ginseng*, radix removed, 1 liang), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, *Zingiber officinale*, processed until cracked, cut, 1 liang), Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, *Scutellaria baicalensis*, 1 liang), Guixin (Cinnamon Twig Heart, *Cinnamomum cassia*, 1.5 liang), Mahuang (Ephedra Stem, *Ephedra sinica*, slightly processed and cut), Sheng Gan Dihuang (Raw Dried Rehmannia Root, *Rehmannia glutinosa*, 3 qian), Shizhuyu (Chinese Cornelian Cherry Fruit, *Cornus officinalis*, 3 qian). Crush and sieve into a powder. Take 3 qian per dose, decoct with one zhuan of water until reduced to 0.6 zhuan, and take warm at any time.

Zhenzhu San (Pearl Powder, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats Fengzhu toxic vapors and conditions attributed to "Cat Ghost" attachment.
Ingredients: Zhenzhu (Pearl, *Pinctada margaritifera*, finely powdered, 0.5 liang), Xionghuang (Realgar, *Realgar*, finely powdered, 0.5 liang), Xixin (Asarum Root, *Asarum heterotropoides*, 1 liang), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, *Zingiber officinale*, processed until cracked, cut, 0.5 liang), Chuanjiao (Sichuan Pepper, *Zanthoxylum bungeanum*, eyes and closed-mouth varieties removed, 0.5 liang), Gancao (Licorice Root, *Glycyrrhiza uralensis*, slightly processed, 0.5 liang).

Wutou San (Aconite Powder, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats Fengzhu and the evil qi of "Wu Shi" (Five Corpses); pathogenic qi wandering in the chest and heart, flowing into the four limbs, moving incessantly. Accompanied by shortness of breath and a sensation of impending death.
Ingredients: Chuan Wutou (Prepared Aconite Root, *Aconitum carmichaelii*, processed until cracked, skin and navel removed, 1 liang), Chi Shaoyao (Red Peony Root, *Paeonia lactiflora*, 1 liang), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root, *Angelica sinensis*, cut finely, stir-fried, 1 liang), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger, *Zingiber officinale*, processed until cracked, stir-fried, 0.5 liang), Guixin (Cinnamon Twig Heart, *Cinnamomum cassia*, processed until slightly red, 1 liang).

Tianxiong San (Tianxiong Powder, from *Shenghui Fang*): Treats Fengzhu where pathogenic qi overflows and jumps within the skin, attacking and wandering, causing unbearable pain.
Ingredients: Tianxiong (Prepared Aconite Root, *Aconitum carmichaelii*, processed until cracked, skin and navel removed, 1 liang), Guixin (Cinnamon Twig Heart, *Cinnamomum cassia*, 3 qian), Shinan (Fatsia Bark, *Fatsia japonica*, 3 qian), Mangcao (Poisonous Herb, *Descurainia sophia*, slightly stir-fried, 3 qian), Yinyu (Epimedium Leaf/Stem, *Epimedium brevicornu*, 3 qian), Yelangdu (Wolfbane Root, *Aconitum anthora*, small amount, added with Xionghuang).

Anshixiang Wan (Styrax Pill): Treats all pains caused by Fengzhu.
Ingredients: Anshixiang (Benzoin Resin, *Styrax tonkinensis*, powdered), Rushiag (Frankincense, *Boswellia carterii*, powdered, each 1 liang), Baijiaoxiang (White Mastic Resin, *Pistacia lentiscus*, powdered), Dilong (Earthworm, *Pheretima aspergillum*, earth removed, stir-fried, pounded to powder, each 0.5 qian), Tao Ren (Peach Seed, *Prunus persica*, soaked in hot water, skin and twin kernels removed, stir-fried). Form into pills the size of tung tree seeds. Take several pills per dose with warm water.

Qianghuo Tang (Notopterygium Decoction): Treats Fengzhu causing stabbing pain in the heart and abdomen, radiating upward to the chest and back.
Ingredients: Qianghuo (Notopterygium Rhizome/Root, *Notopterygium incisum*, seedlings and roots removed, 3 qian), Dadou (Soybean, *Glycine max*, stir-fried, 1 he), Sanggen Baipi (Mulberry Root Bark, *Morus alba*, processed and cut, 1.5 liang), Xiong (Ligusticum Rhizome, *Ligusticum chuanxiong*, 1 liang), Chenpi (Aged Tangerine Peel, *Citrus reticulata*, soaked in water, white pith removed, dried, 1 liang). Cut the herbs, decoct in water, strain, and take warm.

Xiao Jinya Jiu (Small Gold Tooth Wine, from *Ben Cao*): Treats various diseases of Fengzhu, deficiency-wasting with cold-dampness, muscle laxity and numbness, inability to walk. Modern practitioners find it highly effective.
Ingredients: Jinya (Gold Tooth, *Aeschinomene indica* root), Xixin (Asarum Root, *Asarum heterotropoides*), Difuzi (Kochia Fruit, *Kochia scoparia*), Mangcao (Poisonous Herb, *Descurainia sophia*), Gan Dihuang (Dried Rehmannia Root, *Rehmannia glutinosa*), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia Root, *Saposhnikovia divaricata*), Hulu Gen (Calabash Root, *Lagenaria siceraria*), Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root, *Aconitum carmichaelii*), Yinyu (Epimedium Leaf/Stem, *Epimedium brevicornu*), Xuduan (Dipsacus Root, *Dipsacus asper*), Shujiao (Sichuan Pepper, *Zanthoxylum bungeanum*), Duohuo (Angelica Pubescens Root, *Angelica pubescens*). Each ingredient 4 liang. First, pound Jinya into powder and store separately in a crimson pouch. Slice the remaining ingredients thinly. Place all ingredients together with the Jinya powder into a large crimson pouch. Soak in 4 dou of clear wine, seal tightly.
