服神效。又果树上作穴。纳钟乳末少许。封好。则子多而味美。其功概可想见矣。）

引金气以下行。气纳喘平。导归水部。镇肾虚之恐怯。耳聪翳退。性味咸寒。（磁石
。生于有铁处。为铁之母。中有铁纹。善吸铁。有子母相粘之象。一云年久则仍化为铁。想
铁之未成者。火 醋淬。善拔疔疮。其功入肾。能养肾气。镇肾虚。又能引金气下行。故肾
虚浊泛。而为内障耳鸣等证。皆可治之。）
上行温煦肺脏之寒冷，下行壮补肾阳。质地沉重，药性偏颇，能补命门之火、强健阴精并通利乳汁。味甘而气热，可驱除寒邪、治疗咳嗽、调理虚劳。
（钟乳石汲取岩石的津液与精气，积聚而成如乳状，滴流凝结成石，内部中空如同管状，因此得名。它禀受阳刚的性质。凡是药性偏颇的药物，都只适合暂时使用而不宜长期服用，何况是石类药物，其气更为猛烈悍烈。无知的人服用后，顿时感觉阳气倍增，食欲大增，身体强壮，便以此为庆幸，却不知暗中损耗了阴精，最终导致消渴、痈疽等祸患。凡是肺气虚寒引起的久咳不愈者，用数分研成细末冲服，效果神奇。另外，在果树上钻孔，放入少许钟乳石粉末，封好，则果实多且味道甜美，其功效大概可以由此推知。）
体质轻浮，能化解痰火、消散瘿瘤，清金润肺以利止咳。味咸性寒，具有润下作用，治疗小便浑浊淋沥及体内积块，研磨后可消除眼翳、恢复视力。（海浮石由海边水沫凝结而成，其质地轻，体中空，颜色白，味道咸。化痰清肺是它的长处。治疗淋证是因为其咸寒润下的特性。又因为肺属金为肾水之上源，源头清澈则水流洁净。）
引导肺金之气下行，使气机归纳从而平定喘息；导引精气归于肾水部位，镇摄肾虚引起的恐惧怯弱，使耳聪目明、眼翳消退。性味咸寒。（磁石生于含铁之处，是铁的母亲，中间有铁纹，善于吸附铁器，呈现出子母相粘的景象。另一种说法是年代久远后仍会化为铁，推测是未完全形成的铁，经过火炼和醋淬处理，善于拔除疔疮毒气。其功效入肾，能滋养肾气，镇摄肾虚，又能引导肺金之气下行，因此肾虚浊气上泛导致的内障、耳鸣等症状，都可以治疗。）
Zhongru Shi (Stalactite)
Ascends to warm cold in the Lung; descends to strengthen Yang of the Kidney. Heavy in texture and biased in nature, it tonifies Fire, strengthens Yin, and promotes lactation. Sweet in taste and hot in qi, it dispels cold, treats cough, and manages consumptive disease.
(Stalactite absorbs the fluid and essence of rocks, gathering into a milky form and dripping to solidify into stone. Internally hollow like a tube, it is named accordingly. It inherits the nature of Yang and rigidity. Any medicine with a biased nature should only be used temporarily and not for long periods, let alone mineral medicines which are fierce and potent. Ignorant people take it and suddenly feel their Yang Qi doubled, appetite increased, and physique strengthened, rejoicing in this state, unaware that they secretly damage their Yin Essence, leading to disasters such as Xiao Ke (Wasting and Thirsting Syndrome) and carbuncles/furuncles. For chronic cough due to Lung deficiency and cold, taking a few fen ground into fine powder and washed down with water yields miraculous effects. Additionally, drilling holes in fruit trees, inserting a small amount of Stalactite powder, and sealing them well results in more abundant and tastier fruits; its efficacy can be inferred from this.)
Haifushi (Pumice)
Light and floating in constitution, it resolves phlegm-fire, scrofula, and goiter; clears Metal (Lung) and benefits the throat to stop cough. Salty and cold in nature, moistening and descending, it treats turbid stranguria and accumulations/masses; grinding it removes ocular nebulae and restores vision. (Pumice forms from sea foam, being light in quality, hollow in structure, white in color, and salty in taste. Resolving phlegm and clearing the Lung is its specialty. It treats stranguria due to its salty, cold, moistening, and descending properties. Furthermore, Metal is the upper source of Water; when the source is clear, the flow is pure.)
Cishi (Magnetite)
Guides Metal Qi to descend, causing Qi to gather and wheezing to subside; directs Qi to the Water aspect (Kidney), anchoring fearfulness caused by Kidney deficiency, improving hearing, reducing ocular nebulae, and restoring clarity. Nature and taste are salty and cold. (Magnetite is found where iron exists, acting as the mother of iron, containing iron patterns within, and possessing the ability to attract iron, resembling the adhesive relationship between mother and child. Another view suggests that after many years it turns back into iron, likely because the iron was not fully formed; subjected to fire smelting and vinegar quenching, it is good at drawing out toxins from ding sores. Its action enters the Kidney, nourishing Kidney Qi and anchoring Kidney deficiency. It also guides Metal Qi downward, thus treating conditions such as internal eye disorders and tinnitus caused by turbid Qi flooding upward due to Kidney deficiency.)
