，始生者开辟之初，物之先见也。他处者，生育之广，物之繁盛也。天气从东南而西北，则
草木始生东南者，未始不生西北，西北虽生，不如东南之力也。地气从西北而东南，则金石
之始生西北者，未始不生东南，东南虽生，不如西北之力也。而岂莳植移徒之谓哉。若以草
木土石而异视之，何所见之不大也。）
紫白石英，品类相同，主治亦不甚远。紫为木火之色，气味甘温，故治心腹、肾脏之寒。
白

（空青又名杨梅青，最初出产于益州的山谷及越隽山，如今在蔚兰、宣梓等产铜的地方，铜精受熏蒸而生出空青。大的像拳头或蛋卵，小的像豆粒，或者像杨梅。它的颜色是青色，中间都是空的，所以叫空青。里面含有浆汁，是治疗眼疾的神药。如果不空且没有浆汁的，叫做白青。现在方士将药物涂在铜器上，生出青色后刮下来，伪造成空青，真正的已经很难得到了。）

（白石英最初出产于华阴山谷及泰山，如今在寿阳、泽州、虢州、洛州的山中都存在。大的像手指，长二三寸，六面如削切般平整，洁白晶莹如玉且有光泽，长五六寸的更好。有人问：天地开辟之初，草木开始生长，后人分头移植栽培，所以其他地方也有。如今土中生长的石头，也是自然生成的，与其他地方的是否有区别呢？我认为：草木、金石、虫鱼都属于物类，自然生成的代表开辟之初事物最先出现的情况；其他地方的则是生育范围广泛，事物繁盛的表现。天气从东南流向西北，那么草木在东南开始生长，并非不在西北生长，只是西北生长的力量不如东南。地气从西北流向东南，那么金石在西北开始生成，并非不在东南生成，只是东南生成的力量不如西北。这难道是移植移动所能解释的吗？如果把草木土石区别看待，那见识就太小了。）
(Kongqing, Azurite) Its flavor is sweet and sour, its nature is cold, and it is non-toxic. It treats blindness (Qingmang), deafness, brightens the eyes, unblocks the nine orifices, unifies the blood vessels, nourishes the spirit, and benefits Liver Qi. (Azurite, also known as Yangmei Qing, originally originated from the valleys of Yizhou and Yuejun Mountain. Currently, in places like Weilan and Xuanzi where copper is mined, Kongqing is generated by the fumes of copper essence. Large pieces are the size of a fist or an egg, small ones are bean-sized or like bayberries. Its color is green, and its interior is hollow, hence the name Kongqing. It contains a liquid pulp, which is a divine medicine for treating eye diseases. If it is not hollow and lacks pulp, it is called Baiqing (White Azurite). Currently, practitioners apply medicine onto copper objects, scrape off the generated green substance, and fake it as Kongqing; genuine ones are hard to obtain.)
(Zishi, Purple Fluorite) Its flavor is sweet, its nature is warm, and it is non-toxic. It treats cough and rebellious Qi in the heart and abdomen, expels pathogenic factors, tonifies deficiencies, and treats women's infertility caused by Wind-Cold in the uterus, resulting in ten years without children. Long-term consumption warms the Middle Jiao, makes the body light, and prolongs life.
(Purple Fluorite originally originated from the valleys of Mount Tai. Currently, it is found in the mountains of Kuaiji, Zhuji, Wucheng, Yongjia, Yangshan, and Dongguan, but those from Mount Tai are the best. Its color is pale purple, its texture is crystal clear, it has five edges regardless of size, and both ends resemble arrowheads.)
(Baiqing, White Fluorite) Its flavor is sweet, its nature is slightly warm, and it is non-toxic. It treats Xiao Ke (Wasting-Thirst syndrome), impotence and insufficiency, cough and rebellious Qi, chronic cold in the chest and diaphragm, boosts Qi, and dispels Wind-Damp Bi syndrome. Long-term consumption makes the body light and prolongs life.
(White Fluorite originally originated from the valleys of Huayin and Mount Tai. Currently, it is found in the mountains of Shouyang, Zezhou, Guozhou, and Luozhou. Large pieces are finger-sized, two to three cun long, with six flat faces like cut jade, white and lustrous; pieces five to six cun long are better. Some ask: When Heaven and Earth were created, plants began to grow, and later people transplanted them, so they exist elsewhere. Do stones growing in the soil now differ from those elsewhere? I say: Plants, minerals, insects, and fish all belong to the category of things. Naturally occurring ones represent the first appearance of things at the beginning of creation; those found elsewhere represent the broad scope of generation and the prosperity of things. Heavenly Qi flows from Southeast to Northwest; thus, while plants begin to grow in the Southeast, they do not fail to grow in the Northwest, though their vitality there is inferior to that in the Southeast. Earthly Qi flows from Northwest to Southeast; thus, while minerals begin to form in the Northwest, they do not fail to form in the Southeast, though their quality there is inferior to that in the Northwest. How could this be merely explained by transplantation and movement? To view plants, wood, earth, and stones differently would be a limited perspective.)
