气水面肿，焙末，同轻粉吹鼻，以黄水下为效。（第二。）
石淋疼痛，七个，食盐二两，新瓦上铺盖焙干，去盐，每服一钱，七日愈。（第三。）
小便不通，取下半截，焙末水下。（第四。）
胎衣不下。同上。（第五。）
针刺入肉，杵汁滴上，三五日自出。（第六。）

竹木入肉，为末，白面合敷即出。（第八。）

味咸，性寒，有毒。治疗小儿惊痫抽搐，腹胀及寒热症状。治疗成人癫疾阳狂，腹部胀满及奔豚气。塞入下部可引导痔疮虫全部排出，敷于金疮（金属利器造成的创伤）上能使箭头自行拔出。通利二便燥结，治疗泻痢中的赤白痢。涂抹于一切恶疮疔毒，解除各种疳蚀虫。去除鼻下息肉，点涂舌下重舌。最容易导致堕胎，也能治疗脱肛。

去掉翅膀和足部，炒制后使用。
味咸，性凉，有小毒。溃破痈肿并缓解哽噎，消除水肿并通利石淋；平复瘰疬并治疗恶疮，去除肉刺并催发难产。
对水肿非常有效。其药性最急，体虚者慎用。
一切水肿喘满，五枚，焙干研末，白开水送服，小便通畅为见效。（验方第一。）
气水面肿，焙干研末，同轻粉吹入鼻腔，以流出黄水为见效。（第二。）
石淋疼痛，七个，食盐二两，铺盖在新瓦上焙干，去掉盐，每服一钱，七日痊愈。（第三。）
小便不通，取下半截，焙干研末，水送服。（第四。）

Steamed and stored for later use; before application, remove the legs and roast over fire. Averse to sheep horn, mutton, and gypsum.
Salty, cold, toxic. Treats pediatric convulsions and epilepsy with spasms, abdominal distension, and alternating chills and fever. Treats adult mania and delirium, abdominal fullness, and running piglet syndrome (a condition characterized by a sensation of qi rushing upward from the lower abdomen). Inserted into the lower orifice to draw out hemorrhoidal worms completely; applied to metal weapon wounds to facilitate the spontaneous extraction of arrowheads. Relieves dryness and obstruction of both bowels and urine; treats dysentery with red and white discharge. Applied to all malignant sores and carbuncles; resolves various parasitic infections causing tissue erosion. Removes nasal polyps; applied to sublingual double tongue. Most likely to induce abortion; also treats rectal prolapse.
Pediatric malnutrition disease: Roast until cooked and consume. (Verified Formula 1.)
Acute or chronic infantile convulsions: Use one specimen, pound into a paste, add one cup of water, heat in boiling water, ensure dregs are removed before administration. (Formula 2.)
Red and white dysentery: Char to ash, take five fen with wine; highly effective. (Formula 3.)
Double tongue: Char to ash, mix with saliva, apply to the tongue. (Formula 4.)
All malignant sores: Grind to powder, mix with sesame oil, apply externally. (Formula 5.)
Bleeding moxibustion sores: Char to ash, mix with lard, apply externally. (Formula 6.)
Deep-seated abscesses with fistulas: Use seven specimens, grind with barley, apply externally. (Formula 7.)
All types of fistulas: Char to ash, mix with vinegar, apply externally. (Formula 8.)
Severe constipation of both large and small bowels, suffering to the point of death: Roast one specimen, dry it thoroughly, break it in half. For fecal impaction, use the upper half; for urinary retention, use the lower half. Grind to fine powder, administer with well water.
Complete obstruction of both bowels and urine: Use the whole specimen for cure. (Formula 9.)
Remove wings and feet, stir-fry before use.
Salty, cool, slightly toxic. Breaks up abscesses and relieves choking sensations; reduces edema and unblocks stone strangury (lithuria); calms scrofula and treats malignant sores; removes skin tags and induces labor in difficult childbirth.
Highly effective for edema. Its nature is most urgent; contraindicated for deficient persons.
All types of edema with wheezing and fullness: Five specimens, bake and grind to powder, take with plain hot water. Effect indicated by free urination. (Verified Formula 1.)
Qi-type facial swelling: Bake and grind to powder, mix with calomel, insufflate into the nose. Effect indicated by discharge of yellow fluid. (Formula 2.)
Stone strangury with pain: Seven specimens, two liang of salt, spread on a new tile and bake until dry, remove salt. Take one qian per dose; cured in seven days. (Formula 3.)
Urinary retention: Take the lower half, bake and grind to powder, take with water. (Formula 4.)
Retained placenta: Same as above. (Formula 5.)
Needle embedded in flesh: Pound to juice, drip onto the wound; self-extraction within three to five days. (Formula 6.)
Arrowhead embedded in flesh: Same as above. (Formula 7.)
Bamboo or wood splinter embedded in flesh: Grind to powder, mix with wheat flour, apply externally for extraction. (Formula 8.)
