In cases of trauma, if bleeding occurs at the injured site or from various orifices, this is due to blazing Liver Fire causing blood heat and erratic flow. Use Jiawei Xiaoyao San (Modified Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) to clear heat and nourish blood. If Spleen Qi is deficient, causing blood to lose its attachment and flow erratically, use Jiawei Sijunzi Tang (Modified Four Gentlemen Decoction) or Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction). If Yuan Qi (Primal Qi) has collapsed internally and cannot control the blood, use Dushen Tang (Single Ginseng Decoction) with Pao Jiang (Prepared Ginger) to restore Yang; if ineffective, urgently add Fuzi (Aconite Root). If blood accumulates internally leading to hematemesis, use Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) with Chaihu (Bupleurum Root) and Huangqin (Scutellaria Root). Whenever trauma is aggravated by overexertion, anger causing abdominal distension and fullness, or excessive consumption of cold and toxic herbs damaging the Yang Collaterals, symptoms such as hematemesis, epistaxis, hematochezia, and hematuria may occur. If the Yin Collaterals are damaged, blood stasis, blood masses, and blackening of the muscles result. These are all caused by deficiency of the Zang-Fu organs and dysfunction of the meridians; urgently tonifying the Spleen and Lung will lead to self-healing.

The condition of generalized flooding injection of traumatic blood stasis is caused by blood stagnation resulting from falls and blows. Since Qi flows and injects, when Blood injects it coagulates. It may inject into the limbs and joints, remain in the chest, abdomen, waist, or buttocks, present as diffuse swelling, or form masses. Initially, these belong to stagnant Fire of the Liver and Spleen. Urgently apply Congyi Fa (Green Onion Moxibustion Method), internally administer Xiao Chaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) to clear Liver Fire, then use Bazhen Tang (Eight Treasures Decoction) to strengthen the Spleen and Stomach, or use Yiqi Yangrong Tang (Tonify Qi and Nourish Blood Decoction). Long-term administration will naturally achieve success. If ulcerated after a long duration with Qi and Blood deficiency, Shiquan Dabu Tang (Perfect Ten Great Tonification Decoction) is suitable. If ulcerated but cold pathogen stagnation prevents healing, Douchi Bing (Fermented Soybean Cake) should be used to disperse the cold. This condition, if not treated by tonifying Qi and Blood, without careful daily living regulation, without restraining the Seven Emotions, or using cold and cooling purgatives, is considered incurable.
