Teeth are the bones grown from the oral gingiva, commonly known as "teeth." They are classified into incisors (menya), canines (huya), molars (caoya), and wisdom teeth (jin gen ya) at the upper and lower ends. For teeth lost due to falls, blows, cuts, or bumps, simply apply Bugao San (Bone-Replenishing Powder) externally, use Fengkou Yao (Sealing Medicine), and internally administer Huoxue Yao (Blood-Breaking/Activating Medicines) to relieve pain. These medicines should be decocted in water only, not in wine; this method is quite effective. If a tooth is broken by falls, blows, cuts, or trauma but remains firm without loosening, apply Furong Gao (Hibiscus Ointment); if a tooth is loose, burn Jili Gen (Tribulus Root) until carbonized ("cun xing"), grind it into powder, and frequently rub it on the area to stabilize it; using Guchi San (Tooth-Firming Powder) for frequent rubbing is also beneficial.
Bujī Sān (Muscle-Replenishing Powder): Stops bleeding, relieves pain, expels wind, reconnects sinews and bones, and generates muscle tissue.
Ingredients: Dihuang Miao (Seedlings of Rehmannia glutinosa, also known as Disong), Qinghao (Artemisiae Annuae Herba), Can'er Miao (Seedlings of Xanthium strumarium), Chishao Yao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra) (each 5 liang, decocted in water to extract juice), Sheng Ai Zhi (Fresh Juice of Artemisia argyi) (3 he).
Preparation: Process on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month and the seventh day of the seventh lunar month at noon. Mix the aforementioned herbal juices with Duan Shi (Calcined Alumen) and dry in the shade. Add Huang Dan (Litharge, 3 liang), and pound into a fine powder. For any fractures with bleeding, wrap and seal with the medicine without movement; healing occurs in about ten days without swelling or suppuration.
Furong Gao (Hibiscus Ointment): Treats injuries from falls and blows characterized by swelling, pain, and purple-black discoloration that persists for a long time.
Ingredients: Zijing Pi (Cortex Cercidiphylli), Nanxing (Rhizoma Arisaematis) (each 1 liang), Furong (Hibisci Mutabilis Flos) (2 liang), Duohuo (Radix Angelicae Pubescentis), Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae), Chishao Yao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra) (each 5 qian).
Preparation: Grind all ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with fresh ginger juice and clear tea liquor, warm the mixture, and apply as a compress. If the purple-black discoloration from injury persists for a long time, add Rougui (Cortex Cinnamomi, 5 qian).
Guchi San (Tooth-Firming Powder):
Ingredients: Gusui Bu (Ramuli Drynariae), Mushu Gu (Ash of Rattus bone).
Preparation: Grind into a fine powder, store in a porcelain jar for future use.
Fengkou Yao (Sealing Medicine) (See Nasal Bridge Bone Injury).
Fusang Gu (Fu Sang Bone): Refers to the area beside the frontal bones on both sides, near the concave part within the temporal muscles. If injured by falls or blows, presenting with swelling, bleeding, purple-black hardness, headache, tinnitus, facial bruising, aversion to cold, internal heat sensation, and dry stool, internally administer Zhenggu Zijin Dan (Orthopedic Purple-Gold Pill). If there is skin damage, use Jiuyun Fa (Moxibustion and Fomentation Method) to fix pain externally; for external wounds, apply Wulong Gao (Black Dragon Ointment).
