The collateral vessel of the Hand-Taiyang channel is named Zhizheng (Branching Correct, SI7). It is located five cun above the wrist crease and connects inwardly to the Hand-Shaoyin channel. Its branch ascends along the elbow and networks with the shoulder region. In excess conditions, joints become flaccid and elbow function is impaired; in deficiency conditions, tumors may arise, small ones resembling scabs or sores on the fingers. Treatment involves selecting points from this collateral vessel.
The collateral vessel of the Hand-Yangming channel is named Pianli (Oblique Crossing, LI6). It is located three cun above the wrist crease, where it branches off to connect with the Hand-Taiyin channel. Its branch follows the arm upward, passes over the shoulder, reaches the submandibular region (Qujia), and distributes throughout the teeth. Another branch enters the ear and converges with the Zong Mai (Major Vessels). In excess conditions, dental caries and deafness occur; in deficiency conditions, cold teeth and chest diaphragm bi-syndrome manifest. Treatment involves selecting points from this collateral vessel.
The collateral vessel of the Hand-Shaoyang channel is named Waiguan (Outer Pass, TE5). It is located two cun above the wrist crease, winding outward around the arm, entering the chest, and connecting with the Pericardium channel. In excess conditions, elbow contracture occurs; in deficiency conditions, the elbow lacks strength and cannot be held steady. Treatment involves selecting points from this collateral vessel.
The collateral vessel of the Foot-Taiyang channel is named Feiyang (Flying Yang, BL58). It is located seven cun above the ankle joint, branching off to connect with the Foot-Shaoyin channel. In excess conditions, nasal obstruction with rhinorrhea, headache, and back pain occur; in deficiency conditions, rhinorrhea or epistaxis manifests. Treatment involves selecting points from this collateral vessel.
The collateral vessel of the Foot-Shaoyang channel is named Guangming (Bright Light, GB37). It is located five cun above the ankle joint, branching off to connect with the Foot-Jueyin channel, and descends to network with the dorsum of the foot. In excess conditions, cold limbs (Jue) occur; in deficiency conditions, flaccidity syndrome (Wei) develops, characterized by an inability to stand up after sitting. Treatment involves selecting points from this collateral vessel.
The collateral vessel of the Foot-Yangming channel is named Fenglong (Abundant Bulge, ST40). It is located eight cun above the ankle joint, branching off to connect with the Foot-Taiyin channel. Its branch follows the lateral border of the tibia, ascends to network with the head and neck, gathers the Qi of various channels, descends through the throat, and networks with the esophagus. If Qi rebels upward, it causes throat bi-syndrome and sudden aphonia. In excess conditions, mania and epilepsy occur; in deficiency conditions, the feet lack strength and the shins become emaciated. Treatment involves selecting points from this collateral vessel.
The collateral vessel of the Foot-Taiyin channel is named Gongsun (Grandson, SP4). It is located one cun posterior to the base of the first metatarsal bone, branching off to connect with the Foot-Yangming channel. Its branch enters and networks with the intestines and stomach. If rebellious Qi ascends, Huoluan (vomiting and diarrhea) occurs. In excess conditions, severe cutting pain in the intestines occurs; in deficiency conditions, abdominal distension like a drum manifests. Treatment involves selecting points from this collateral vessel.
The collateral vessel of the Foot-Shaoyin channel is named Dazhong (Great Bell, KI4). It is located behind the medial malleolus, encircling the heel, and branches off to connect with the Foot-Taiyang channel. Its branch runs parallel upward to reach below the Pericardium, piercing externally through the waist and spine. If Qi rebels, irritability and stifling sensation occur. In excess conditions, urinary retention (Bi Long) occurs; in deficiency conditions, lower back pain manifests. Treatment involves selecting points from this collateral vessel.
The collateral vessel of the Foot-Jueyin channel is named Ligou (Snail Ridge, LR5). It is located five cun above the medial malleolus, branching off to connect with the Foot-Shaoyang channel. Its branch travels along the shin to the testis, knotting at the penis. If Qi rebels, testicular swelling and acute hernia occur. In excess conditions, priapism (prolonged erection) occurs; in deficiency conditions, sudden intense itching manifests. Treatment involves selecting points from this collateral vessel.
