余为理瀹骈文。既明经文内外治一贯之理。复详前贤外治用药之法。所以开外治之一门
文人而喜医者读吾文可知其理。并有所取法。莫不能自为方矣。方出于矩篇中。所引古方。
即有未尽验者要皆矩也。余方何足道以局所用录存焉。古有百草膏。杂取山上鲜草。不问芳
草毒草。并而熬膏。能治百病。乃知膏别有道。不必以汤头拘。膏包百病。如大营主将。坐
镇
中军。统领万队。虽有大敌。其气足以函盖。任变幻百出。终不能越其范围。糁药乃其参谋
。敷药乃其环卫。点眼塞耳以及嚏法缚法坐法与罨膝扎脚之法。乃其分兵煎抹炒熨二法。乃
其奇兵制胜者也。（二法最妙内外治贯通在此膏之得力亦在此不对则改换可必期其效）然此中
要有将将者在。（读书审症）诸膏以清阳（代败毒通圣用）散阴（代五积三痹用）金仙（代越鞠温
白用）行水（代五苓八正用）四膏。治症既多。亦最验。合云台（通治外症）为五大膏。局中之
主膏也。更有养心清肺健脾滋阴扶阳通经卫产等膏助之。人病不外此矣。再加以专药。尤能
应变。虽非前圣心传。而以是济人。较丸散为无弊。余与戚族共设此局。颇有仿而行者。
（此膏治上焦风热及表里俱热者凡三阳症并宜之亦治湿在上须表散者若湿温症宜
金仙膏阴虚有火者宜滋阴膏外症拔毒提脓宜云台膏○此膏治头疼如神风火症并效）
统治四时
脑后第二椎下两旁风门穴风常从此入脑鼻塞贴鼻梁并可卷一张塞鼻咳嗽及内热者贴喉下即天
突穴心口即膻中穴或兼贴背后第三骨节即肺俞也凡肺病俱如此贴○此邪在上焦宜以上清散嗅
鼻取嚏上清散用薄荷三钱川芎白芷细辛雄黄硼砂黄芩各一钱牙硝二钱皂角八钱研末冰麝看症
再加凡头疼鼻塞赤眼牙疼喉痹并治可预合备用○文中亦有芎芷塞鼻麻黄黄连点眼等方又古汤
头方医书各有门类可捡如治感冒即捡感冒方煎抹兹不备载诸症皆照此推）风温。（春夏伤风挟
温邪者）温症。（详见吴鞠通条辨）头疼发热不恶寒而口渴者。（渴者热自内达外也○头疼贴两
太阳或用薄荷黄连牙硝糁膏贴烦渴者兼贴胸背或用麦冬连翘黄芩葛根竹叶银花甘草煎抹后贴
古方如黄连解毒犀角地黄白虎竹叶石膏以及泻心凉膈陷胸承气之类均可酌用○热症用煎抹最
宜即古所谓汤以荡其邪热也前人治热病烦渴捣生葛汁抹胸口此本柴葛解肌汤变为生用者也
又治热疟用地龙三条捣烂入生姜汁薄荷汁白蜜冰片调匀涂胸口此本危氏地龙饮改为外涂者也
凡热病俱妙回春多有药渣敷法节庵治热邪传里取麸皮同盐炒熨胸腹以行药足见外治一法能手
未尝不用可以引伸）热病（春夏之交阳气驰张温盛为热治同）温疫。（温病由天行者）温毒。（疫
重为毒）风热上攻。头面腮颊耳前后肿盛。寒热交作。口干舌燥。或兼咽喉痛者。（此即天行
温疫温毒也或云冬温晚发阳明为邪头而尽肿名大头瘟即抱头火丹少阳为邪耳前后肿名虾蟆瘟
又有从颐颔肿起者名鸬 瘟甚则咽喉堵塞最恶又腮肿酸痛者为 腮不酸痛者为发颐皆热症也
○治头瘟先用上清散加冰片取嚏咽喉痛者尤宜文中有延胡青黛方亦可参用膏糁青黛末贴肿处
或用大黄一两姜黄蒲黄各五钱木香槟榔明雄黄牙皂僵蚕马前子川芎白芷牙硝各三钱炮甲蝉蜕
各一钱研末醋蜜调敷如不散而成脓者用云台膏贴乌龙锭敷若崩制出脓者
用马蓝头捣汁扫之出其热气再贴云台膏提脓并加乌龙锭敷又头瘟
表症重者用荆防败毒散或普济消毒饮煎抹胸口里症重者用龙虎双降散防风通圣散加元参牛子
煎抹胸口或并抹背心以清内热○ 腮膏贴腮上或用危氏治腮肿口縻喉闭碧雪丹蒲黄青黛牙硝
生甘草煎抹后贴再加赤小豆芙蓉叶醋同白蜜敷或用云台膏贴乌龙锭敷文中亦有方可用）又风
热上攻。赤眼（肝经风热）牙疼。（肾虚摇动不痛痛是风火虫亦有疼久变为骨槽风口噤者又热
病后火毒留胃有牙宣牙疳）耳鸣耳聋耳痛。（皆少阳经风热痛有干痛脓痛）口縻口疮（唇口属脾
舌属心风热上攻则口舌生疮）喉闭（即痹也）喉风（内缠外缠）喉蛾（单蛾双蛾）等症。（赤眼肿痛
用上清散吹鼻取嚏膏贴两太阳或用通治热毒加味五黄锭黄连黄芩黄柏大黄皆生用黄丹炒各一
两蒲荷羌活防风生地当归川芎赤芍皮硝各五钱雄黄铜绿各三钱枯矾一钱以牛胶五钱化水为锭
临用一锭醋蜜磨敷眼胞上下亦可以一锭煎水洗此方可预合备用或用菊花童便洗自尿亦可豆

热鸡蛋均可 眼上或用槐柳桑杏冬青枝白菊花皆连叶枸杞根连叶各一斤龙胆草夏枯草各二两
水煎八皮硝四两白盐十二两再熬装瓷瓶内每用少许和开水洗佳并治老眼○牙疼用上清散加冰
片取嚏并以少许糁膏贴腮上文中有方胃火重者用大黄白芷生熟石膏擦阴虚火炎者用元参细辛

亦佳凉药不效者用黄连炮姜末糁初若不堪应手即愈溃烂不堪者用地龙吴萸生面醋涂足心止痛

韭菜地下白颈老蚓一条全蝎一个蛇蜕皮一条焙研细末取三分和上清散七分冰片一分 鼻取嚏
更以少许糁膏贴喉中央或颈两旁另用皂角末一两醋熬稠涂膏外重者以皂角醋磨紫金锭涂关目
开有蛾亦破一用大蒜擦颈并塞鼻蛾亦破古方或用大蒜捣烂入轻粉敷寸脉后手背微窝处名经渠
穴乃肺脉所行也过夜起泡银针挑破出毒水愈并治牙疼或并刺少商穴出血以泄毒亦治喉珠喉瘤
又喉痹喉蛾溃炽水浆不入者用文中陆氏塞鼻丹薄荷细辛巴霜冰片末各等分棉裹塞鼻一时头顶
冰凉咽喉即开愈后鼻疮并无害以银花甘草水洗之本草巴豆注亦云如走马痹只用麝香巴霜塞鼻
此以热治热热则流通之意也或卷筒烧熏鼻亦妙又喉风烂喉双单蛾急症用许氏异功散斑蝥去翅
足糯米炒黄去米四钱元参八分真血结乳香没药皆去尽油全蝎各六分冰片三分麝二分其末以一
分糁膏贴喉外患处一边约一二时吊起白泡挑破出毒水愈又烂喉不痛者文中有张氏刻送方二方
皆效虚症阴寒症另治此膏此药皆不可用）热实结胸。（心下满硬烦躁而渴膏贴胸背或用小柴胡
合小陷胸汤煎抹并治水结痰结重者膏上糁大黄芒硝甘遂枳实末贴并用一料以白蜜鸡子清调敷
胸腹勿令干结胸自下）热毒发斑。（大红点发于皮肤上者为斑小红点隐于皮肤中者为疹疹轻斑
重○先用紫草茸煎汤抹胸口再糁少许于膏上贴心口背心脐上紫草茸乃透斑之要药也或用消斑
饮举斑汤凉血地黄汤犀角大青汤等方煎抹后再贴或只用犀角大青生地数味亦可并参用文中升
麻水及猪胆汁等方扫之）热症衄血吐血蓄血便血尿血。（鼻衄属肺火膏贴心口背心初起不必加
止药症重者或用犀角地黄黄连丹皮侧柏叶煎抹后再贴加川芎香附亦可或用薄荷柏叶荷叶茜草
根亦可如衄久或用黄芩浸水磨白芨涂山根并用文中洪宝膏醋涂脑后连颈项截其血路如不止以
生地蘸陈金墨汁塞鼻加龙骨发灰末尤佳兼胃热者加清胃膏贴中脘或用麦冬知母牡丹皮牛地黄
连白芍石膏当归牛膝泽泻煎抹后贴兼肾热者加滋阴膏贴丹田或用元参知母黄柏龟板同四物煎
抹后贴危急者用井水或醋浸湿纸搭囟门以头发浸水中又以本人发三根同黑线扎中指中一节男
左女右并用大蒜涂两足心文中有方○吐血属胃火膏亦贴胸口背心或照衄血方用犀角地黄汤煎
抹后贴或参用清胃膏及麦冬等药 肾热者亦照衄血用滋阴膏贴再加药○蓄血分三部下部蓄血
者少腹硬痛用紫苏汤

下再贴膏或用四物同凉膈散煎抹胸口并脐下再贴如逆行者用郁金煎汤抹胸口加韭菜汁牛膝更佳○郁金能治逆经）
○外症瘫毒红肿热痛者并治。如毒攻心。作呕不食。贴胸背可护心。患处多者。麻油调药扫之。
自来医之难。难于识症。膏用通治。取巧在此。加药却不能朦混。能者固以是见长。不能者
即以是见拙。余虽开此一门。用者务必细心斟酌。毋贻笑于画蛇添足。切嘱切嘱。诸膏皆如
此。

我撰写了《理瀹骈文》。既然阐明了经文内外治法一贯的道理，又详细记录了前代贤人在外治法中用药的方法，以此来开辟外治法这一门类。
喜好医学的文人读了我的文章，可以明白其中的道理，并有所取法，没有不能自己开方的。方剂出自规矩之中，所引用的古方，即使有不完全灵验的，也都有章可循。我的方子有什么值得称道的呢？只是将药局所用、记录保存下来的方子列出来罢了。古代有一种“百草膏”，杂取山上新鲜的草药，不分香草毒草，一起熬制成膏，能治疗各种疾病。由此可知，制作膏药另有门道，不必拘泥于汤头歌诀。膏药包治百病，就像大营的主将，坐镇中军，统领万队，即使有大敌当前，其气势足以包容涵盖，任凭变幻多端，终究不能超出它的范围。撒药（将药粉撒在膏上）就像是参谋，敷药（将药膏直接敷贴）就像是卫兵护卫。点眼、塞耳以及嚏法、缚法、坐法和罨膝扎脚等方法，就像是分兵作战；煎抹和炒熨这两种方法，就像是出奇兵制胜的手段。（这两种方法最为精妙，内外治法贯通于此，此膏得力之处也在于此，若不对症则更换药物，必定能收到疗效。）然而这其中要有善于驾驭将领的人。（即读书审症的能力）。
诸种膏药中，清阳膏（代替败毒散、通圣散使用）、散阴膏（代替五积散、三痹汤使用）、金仙膏（代替越鞠丸、温白丸使用）、行水膏（代替五苓散、八正散使用）这四种膏药，治疗的病症既多，也最灵验。加上云台膏（通治外部病症），合称为五大膏，是药局中的主膏。更有养心膏、清肺膏、健脾膏、滋阴膏、扶阳膏、通经膏、卫产膏等辅助使用。人的疾病不外乎这些范畴。再加上专用药物，更能随机应变。虽然这不是前代圣人的心传秘法，但用它来救济世人，比丸药和散剂没有弊端。我与亲戚族人共同设立了这个药局，颇有仿效而行的人。
（此膏治疗上焦风热及表里俱热的病症，凡三阳症都适宜使用。也治疗湿气在上部需要发散的情况。如果是湿温症，宜用金仙膏；阴虚有火的，宜用滋阴膏；外部病症拔毒提脓的，宜用云台膏。○此膏治疗头痛如神，对风火症都有效。）
统管四季。脑后第二椎下两旁风门穴，风寒常从此处侵入脑部导致鼻塞，可贴在鼻梁上，也可卷一张塞入鼻孔。咳嗽及内热者，贴在喉下即天突穴，心口即膻中穴，或者兼贴背后第三骨节即肺俞穴。凡是肺病都这样贴。○这是邪气在上焦，宜用以上清散嗅鼻取嚏。上清散用薄荷三钱、川芎、白芷、细辛、雄黄、硼砂、黄芩各一钱、牙硝二钱、皂角八钱，研成末，冰片、麝香视症状再加。凡是头疼、鼻塞、赤眼、牙疼、喉痹都治疗，可以预先合制备用。○文中也有芎芷塞鼻、麻黄连翘点眼等方，又有古汤头方医书各有门类可捡，如治感冒就捡感冒方煎抹，这里不再备载。诸症皆照此推演。
风温。（春夏季节伤风挟带温邪者。）温症。（详见吴鞠通的条辨。）头疼发热不恶寒而口渴者。（口渴是因为热从内部达于外部。○头痛贴两太阳穴，或用薄荷、黄连、牙硝糁膏贴；烦躁口渴者兼贴胸背，或用麦冬、连翘、黄芩、葛根、竹叶、银花、甘草煎汤抹后贴。古方如黄连解毒汤、犀角地黄汤、白虎汤、竹叶石膏汤以及泻心汤、凉膈散、陷胸承气汤之类均可酌情使用。○热症用煎抹最合适，即古人所谓“汤以荡其邪热”。前人治疗热病烦渴，捣生葛汁抹胸口，这原本是柴葛解肌汤变为生用。又治疗热疟疾，用地龙三条捣烂，加入生姜汁、薄荷汁、白蜜、冰片调匀涂胸口，这原本是危氏地龙饮改为外涂。凡是热病都很妙，回春多有药渣敷法。节庵治疗热邪传入体内，取麸皮同盐炒熨胸腹以行药力，足见外治法能手未尝不用此法，可以引伸发挥。）热病。（春夏之交阳气弛张，温热盛而为热，治法相同。）温疫。（温病由天行传染者。）温毒。（瘟疫严重化为毒。）
风热上攻。头面腮颊耳前后肿盛，寒热交作，口干舌燥，或兼咽喉痛者。（这就是天行温疫温毒。有人说冬温晚发，阳明为邪，头面尽肿，名叫大头瘟，即抱头火丹；少阳为邪，耳前后肿，名叫虾蟆瘟；又有从颐颔肿起的，名叫鸬 瘟。严重时咽喉堵塞，最为凶险。还有腮肿酸痛的是痄腮，不酸痛的是发颐，都是热症。○治疗头瘟先用上清散加冰片取嚏，咽喉痛者尤其适宜。文中有延胡索、青黛方也可参用。膏上糁青黛末贴肿处，或用大黄一两、姜黄、蒲黄各五钱、木香、槟榔、明雄黄、牙皂、僵蚕、马前子、川芎、白芷、牙硝各三钱、炮甲、蝉蜕各一钱，研末，醋蜜调敷。如果不消散而成脓的，用云台膏贴，乌龙锭敷。如果已经溃破出脓的，用马蓝头捣汁扫之，出其热气，再贴云台膏提脓并加乌龙锭敷。另外头瘟表症重的，用荆防败毒散或普济消毒饮煎汤抹胸口；里症重的，用龙虎双降散、防风通圣散加元参、牛子煎汤抹胸口，或者并抹背心以清内热。○痄腮膏贴腮上，或者用危氏治腮肿、口糜、喉闭的碧雪丹、蒲黄、青黛、牙硝、生甘草煎汤抹后贴，再加赤小豆、芙蓉叶醋同白蜜敷，或者用云台膏贴，乌龙锭敷。文中也有方可用。）

赤眼肿痛用上清散吹鼻取嚏，膏贴两太阳，或者用通治热毒加味五黄锭（黄连、黄芩、黄柏、大黄皆生用，黄丹炒各一两，蒲荷、羌活、防风、生地、当归、川芎、赤芍、皮硝各五钱，雄黄、铜绿各三钱，枯矾一钱，以牛胶五钱化水为锭，临用一锭醋蜜磨敷眼胞上下，也可以一锭煎水洗。此方可预合备用。或者用菊花、童便洗，自尿亦可，豆腐热鸡蛋均可敷眼上，或者用槐柳桑杏冬青枝、白菊花皆连叶、枸杞根连叶各一斤、龙胆草、夏枯草各二两，水煎，加朴硝四两、白盐十二两再熬，装瓷瓶内，每用少许和开水洗佳，并治老眼。○牙疼用上清散加冰片取嚏，并以少许糁膏贴腮上。文中有方：胃火重者用大黄、白芷、生熟石膏擦；阴虚火炎者用元参、细辛、青白盐擦，皆勿咽。风痛用露蜂房煎嗽，亦勿咽。虫痛以塘栖痧药咬于痛处，用麻油煎雄黄嗽，亦勿咽。○骨槽风用云台膏贴，分寒热酌用文中玉池散、荜茇散醋敷。○牙疳膏糁紫雪丹贴心口，或者用黄连、石膏煎水抹后再贴膏，并用人乳、人中白和冰片吹，以青黛散敷头上。牙疳凶极者用文中大黄、丁香、绿豆敷足心法，此毛方也。○牙宣膏贴腮上，肾热用旱莲草擦，地骨皮煎嗽；胃热用大黄擦，梧桐泪研末糁。○耳鸣耳聋膏剪半开勿断，夹耳门贴，再用龙荟锭醋磨敷耳一周。龙荟锭用柴胡、龙胆草、黄芩、青皮、胆星、芦荟、黄连、青黛、大黄、木通、菖蒲、皂角、细辛各一两，全蝎三个，陈小粉炒黑五两，研末，以青鱼胆汁一杯和姜汁、竹沥为锭，临用醋磨敷，并治耳痛及一切肝火。如有脓日久不干，加枯矾、雄黄、轻粉、海螵蛸末敷，脓自干。凡耳病用药吹耳滴耳不如涂耳外，又耳聋用药布包作枕睡最好，可以用大剂。○口糜口疮膏糁黄柏、黄芩、黄连、栀子、细辛、干姜等分为末贴胸口脐上，名赴宴散，此纲目法也。或者用导赤散合凉膈散煎抹胸口以清内热，再贴，并用儿茶磨金墨涂患处，以五倍子、百草霜、滑石、白螺蛳壳研末敷之，蜜炙黄柏末亦佳。凉药不效者用黄连、炮姜末糁。初若不堪应手即愈，溃烂不堪者用地龙、吴萸、生面醋涂足心止痛，亦是危氏方也。毛陆本皆云神效。虚火上行用草乌、南星，或者用附子糁膏贴足心。治口舌牙齿咽喉青黛散用黄连三钱、黄柏蜜炙、蒲黄各二钱、青黛、芒硝、元明粉、寒水石、儿茶、雄黄、硼砂、五倍子各一钱、漂朱砂、枯矾、铜绿、绿矾、薄荷、生甘草各五分、牛黄、冰片各三分、麝香一分，共末，临用以薄荷汤同姜汁、白蜜调敷颈上，加人中白、人乳过五钱，名人中白散。治同。如虚火症宜元参四物，阴寒症宜附子理中，此膏此药皆不可用。○风火喉闭先用薄荷、荆芥、防风、牛子、桔梗、甘草等煎汤抹胸口并抹颈上，再用白僵蚕二条、韭菜地下白颈老蚓一条、全蝎一个、蛇蜕皮一条焙研细末，取三分和上清散七分、冰片一分，鼻取嚏，更以少许糁膏贴喉中央或颈两旁。另用皂角末一两醋熬稠涂膏外。重者以皂角醋磨紫金锭涂关目，开有蛾亦破。一用大蒜擦颈并塞鼻，蛾亦破。古方或用大蒜捣烂入轻粉敷寸脉后手背微窝处名经渠穴，乃肺脉所行也，过夜起泡银针挑破出毒水愈，并治牙疼，或并刺少商穴出血以泄毒，亦治喉珠喉瘤。又喉痹喉蛾溃炽水浆不入者用文中陆氏塞鼻丹，薄荷、细辛、巴霜、冰片末各等分棉裹塞鼻一时，头顶冰凉咽喉即开，愈后鼻疮并无害，以银花甘草水洗之。本草巴豆注亦云如走马痹只用麝香巴霜塞鼻，此以热治热，热则流通之意也。或卷筒烧熏鼻亦妙。又喉风烂喉双单蛾急症用许氏异功散，斑蝥去翅足糯米炒黄去米四钱、元参八分、真血结、乳香、没药皆去尽油、全蝎各六分、冰片三分、麝二分，其末以一分糁膏贴喉外患处，一边约一二时吊起白泡，挑破出毒水愈。又烂喉不痛者文中有张氏刻送方二方皆效，虚症阴寒症另治，此膏此药皆不可用。）
热实结胸。（心下满硬烦躁而渴，膏贴胸背，或者用小柴胡合小陷胸汤煎抹，并治水结痰结。重者膏上糁大黄、芒硝、甘遂、枳实末贴，并用一料以白蜜鸡子清调敷胸腹，勿令干，结胸自下。）
热毒发斑。（大红点发于皮肤上者为斑，小红点隐于皮肤中者为疹，疹轻斑重。○先用紫草茸煎汤抹胸口，再糁少许于膏上贴心口、背心、脐上。紫草茸乃透斑之要药也。或者用消斑饮、举斑汤、凉血地黄汤、犀角大青汤等方煎抹后再贴，或者只用犀角、大青、生地数味亦可，并参用文中升麻水及猪胆汁等方扫之。）
热症衄血吐血蓄血便血尿血。（鼻衄属肺火，膏贴心口、背心，初起不必加止药。症重者或用犀角地黄汤、黄连、丹皮、侧柏叶煎抹后再贴，加川芎、香附亦可，或者用薄荷、柏叶、荷叶、茜草根亦可。如衄久，或者用黄芩浸水磨白芨涂山根，并用文中洪宝膏醋涂脑后连颈项截其血路。如不止，以生地蘸陈金墨汁塞鼻，加龙骨、发灰末尤佳。兼胃热者加清胃膏贴中脘，或者用麦冬、知母、牡丹皮、牛地黄、连白芍、石膏、当归、牛膝、泽泻煎抹后贴。兼肾热者加滋阴膏贴丹田，或者用元参、知母、黄柏、龟板同四物煎抹后贴。危急者用井水或醋浸湿纸搭囟门，以头发浸水中，又以本人发三根同黑线扎中指中一节，男左女右，并用大蒜涂两足心。文中有方。○吐血属胃火，膏亦贴胸口、背心，或者照衄血方用犀角地黄汤煎抹后贴，或者参用清胃膏及麦冬等药。肾热者亦照衄血用滋阴膏贴，再加药。○蓄血分三部，下部蓄血者少腹硬痛，用紫苏汤煎抹，或者用苏木、当归、大黄、赤芍、桃仁、灵脂、红花煎抹再贴。○便血用膏贴脐上并肛门，或者用川芎、当归、黄连、槐花并洗肛门再贴。○尿血膏贴小腹，或者用蒲黄、旱莲草、车前子煎洗小腹再贴。）
热淋。（先用木通煎汤抹心口、脐下，再用硝石末糁膏贴脐下，参用行水膏。○古方治热淋用八正散及山栀、滑石之类亦可酌以煎抹。若血淋痛者用小蓟、益母草、杜牛膝、车前子、发灰之类煎抹再贴。）
热毒下注。（肛门肿痛照肠痔治，用山豆根或马齿苋煎洗后贴膏，或者用文中坎宫锭敷。如热极脱肛，膏上糁黄芩、防风、蝉蜕末贴并包螺蛳坐之。文中有方。）
热秘。（先用大黄、芒硝、皂角煎抹脐腹，再用膏糁硝石末贴脐，参用文中通大便方。）
脚风。（红肿热痛喜当风者，膏贴患处，或者用许方苍术、黄柏、防己、海桐皮醋敷。）
○一切脏腑火症。（膏贴心口、背心、当脐、小腹，再酌加药。○凡治火之药：心用麦冬、黄连、生地、木通；小肠用连翘、栀子、竹叶、木通；肝用柴胡、白芍；胆用连翘、胆草；脾用生地、白芍、甘草；胃用葛根、石膏；肺用黄芩、桑皮；大肠用黄芩、大黄；肾用黄柏、知母、地骨皮；膀胱用黄柏、滑石；三焦上连翘又黄芩、栀子，中栀子又黄连、芍药，下地骨皮又黄柏、大黄；心胞用麦冬、丹皮。五脏郁火用青黛荡涤，三焦肠胃实热用芒硝，解疫毒脏腑诸热用芩连栀柏大黄生甘草，或者用赤豆、绿豆、黑豆。五心烦热用羌活、柴胡、升麻、干葛。积热用紫雪丹，或糁或敷或煎抹，随症酌用古方治火者亦可照此捡取。）
○大人中风热症。（中风身热心烦或便闭者，膏贴心口、背心及脐上。如热阻关窍口不能言或心中热者用牛黄清心丸擦胸口后再贴。一用连翘、薄荷、黄连、黄芩、郁金、栀子、人中黄、犀角、羚角煎汤入朱砂、牛黄抹，并治瘟邪内陷胞络神昏者。○中风见症甚多，此举其一端可类推。）
小儿惊风痰热。（用薄荷、防风、麦冬、胆星、黄连、归身、羚角煎抹胸背再贴膏。牙关紧闭本草用杜牛膝醋敷颈，又文中擦背敷胸涂足等方皆可参。○又小儿一切惊症用胆星、甘草、天麻、川连、朱砂、全蝎、僵蚕各一钱，牛黄三分，冰片半分，研末水调或薄荷汤调擦胸背。○又小儿痰迷不醒口流涎沫手足拘挛绛囊有胆星丸，用陈胆星一两五钱、犀角羚角各一两、生龙齿七钱、白芥子五钱、辰砂一钱，陈米汤丸金箔衣，可预合备急，临用以一丸擦胸背并敷脐。）
小儿内热。（用朱砂、黄连糁膏贴心口、背心。如五心热是食积也，参用金仙膏。）
○妇人热入血室。（膏贴心口并期门穴，穴在两乳旁各开一寸半直下一寸半，肝穴也。或者用柴胡破瘀汤，柴胡二钱、黄芩、半夏、生地、当归、赤芍各一钱、甘草五分，煎抹加桃仁、灵脂各五分亦可，并治蓄血症。）
妇人血结胸。（胸满身黄嗽水不欲咽或痛不可忍者，膏糁大黄末贴痛处，或者用桃仁承气汤煎抹后贴，并用危氏海蛤散，海蛤粉一两、六一散二两、芒稍五钱、鸡子清调敷膏外，小肠利而膻中血散痛自止。又血结胸痛连腰背甚作搐搦者，危氏有元胡散，蒲黄、元胡、姜黄、归芍、桂木香、乳没等姜汁调敷，血得热则行，亦可与桃仁承气方参用。）
妇人热结血闭。（用生地、当归、赤芍、桃仁、灵脂、大黄、丹皮、茜草、木通煎汤洗脐下再贴膏，或者用四物同凉膈散煎抹胸口并脐下再贴。如逆行者用郁金煎汤抹胸口加韭菜汁、牛膝更佳。○郁金能治逆经。）
○外症瘫毒红肿热痛者并治。如毒攻心，作呕不食，贴胸背可护心。患处多者，麻油调药扫之。自来医之难，难于识症。膏用通治，取巧在此。加药却不能朦混。能者固以是见长，不能者即以是见拙。余虽开此一门，用者务必细心斟酌，毋贻笑于画蛇添足。切嘱切嘱。诸膏皆如此。

I composed the *Li Yue Pian Wen* (Parallel Prose on External Therapies). Having clarified the consistent principles of internal and external treatments as stated in the classics, I further detailed the methods of medication for external therapies used by former sages, thereby opening up this category of external treatment.
Literati who are fond of medicine can understand the principles and find models to follow after reading my work, and none will be unable to prescribe formulas for themselves. Formulas originate from established rules; even those ancient formulas cited that may not be entirely effective still adhere to these rules. What is there to say about my own formulas? I have merely recorded and preserved those used in our clinic. In ancient times, there was a "Hundred Herbs Paste" (Baicao Gao), made by indiscriminately collecting fresh herbs from mountains, regardless of whether they were fragrant or toxic, and boiling them into a paste capable of treating myriad diseases. This reveals that making pastes has its own distinct methods and need not be constrained by decoction recipes. Pastes can treat all diseases, much like the main general of a large camp, stationed in the central army, commanding ten thousand troops. Even against a formidable enemy, their aura is sufficient to encompass everything; no matter how varied the changes, they ultimately cannot escape the scope of control. Sprinkling powder (San Yao) acts as the strategist, while applying paste directly (Fu Yao) acts as the guards. Methods such as eye-dropping, ear-plugging, inducing sneezing, binding, sitting, and compressing knees or tying feet are akin to dividing forces for battle; the methods of decoction-wiping (Jian Mo) and stir-frying-ironing (Chao Yun) are like using surprise troops to achieve victory. (These two methods are the most exquisite; the integration of internal and external therapies lies here, and the efficacy of this paste also depends on this. If the symptoms do not match, changing the medication ensures efficacy.) However, within this system, one must possess the ability to command generals (i.e., the skill of studying texts and examining symptoms).
Among various pastes, Qingyang Paste (Qingyang Gao, substituting for Baidu San [Poison-Vanquishing Powder] and Tongsheng San [Universal-Supremacy Powder]), Sanyin Paste (Sanyin Gao, substituting for Wuji San [Five Accumulations Powder] and Sanbi Tang [Three Obstructions Decoction]), Jinxian Paste (Jinxian Gao, substituting for Yueju Wan [Wandering-Joy Pill] and Wenbai Wan [Warm-White Pill]), and Xingshui Paste (Xingshui Gao, substituting for Wuling San [Five-Ling Powder] and Bazheng San [Eight-Righteous Powder)]—these four pastes treat numerous conditions and are the most effective. Combined with Yuntai Paste (Yuntai Gao, for general external conditions), they form the "Five Major Pastes," which are the principal pastes of the clinic. Additionally, Yangxin Paste (Yangxin Gao), Qingfei Paste (Qingfei Gao), Jianpi Paste (Jianpi Gao), Ziyin Paste (Ziyin Gao), Fuyang Paste (Fuyang Gao), Tongjing Paste (Tongjing Gao), and Weichan Paste (Weichan Gao) assist in treatment. Human illnesses fall within these categories. By adding specialized medications, one can adapt to changes. Although this is not the secret transmission of former sages, using it to benefit people is less flawed than pills and powders. I established this clinic jointly with relatives and clansmen, and many have imitated and followed suit.
(This paste treats wind-heat in the Upper Jiao and heat in both interior and exterior; it is suitable for all three Yang syndromes. It also treats dampness located in the upper part requiring dispersion. For damp-warmth syndromes, Jinxian Paste should be used; for yin-deficiency with fire, Ziyin Paste should be used; for external conditions requiring drawing out toxins and promoting pus discharge, Yuntai Paste should be used. ○This paste is miraculous for headaches and effective for wind-fire conditions.)
It governs all four seasons. The Fengmen acupoints (Fengmen, BL12), located on both sides below the second thoracic vertebra at the back of the neck, are where wind-cold often enters the brain causing nasal congestion; apply here or on the bridge of the nose, or roll a piece and insert into the nostril. For cough and internal heat, apply to Tianchu (Tiantu, CV22) below the throat, or Danzhong (Shanzhong, CV17) at the heart area, or additionally to Feishu (BL13) at the third vertebral joint on the back. All lung diseases are treated this way. ○Since the pathogen is in the Upper Jiao, use Shangqing Powder (Shangqing San) to sniff the nose and induce sneezing. Shangqing Powder consists of Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba, 3 qian), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 1 qian), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, 1 qian), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, 1 qian), Xionghuang (Realgar, 1 qian), Pengsha (Borax, 1 qian), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, 1 qian), Yanxiao (Natrii Sulfas, 2 qian), and Zaojiao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus, 8 qian), ground into powder. Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum) and Shexiang (Moschus) are added according to symptoms. It treats headache, nasal congestion, red eyes, toothache, and sore throat. It can be prepared in advance. ○The text also mentions formulas like Xiongzhi Nasal Insertion and Mahuang Lianqiao Eye Drops. Ancient decoction recipes and medical books are categorized; for example, for colds, select cold formulas for decoction and wiping. These are not listed here in detail. All conditions should be deduced following this pattern.
Wind-Warmth (Fengwen): Wind-stroke complicated with warm pathogens in spring and summer. Warm Syndromes (Wen Zheng): See Wu Jutong's *Wen Bing Tiao Bian*. Headache, fever, no aversion to cold, but thirst: (Thirst indicates heat reaching from inside to outside. ○Apply to Taiyang acupoints on the temples, or sprinkle paste with Bohe, Huanglian, and Yanxiao. For irritability and thirst, additionally apply to chest and back, or decoct Maidong, Lianqiao, Huangqin, Gegen, Zhuye, Yinhua, and Gancao for wiping before application. Ancient formulas such as Huanglian Jiedu Tang, Xijiao Dihuang Tang, Baihu Tang, Zhuye Shigao Tang, Xiexin Tang, Liangge San, Xianxiong Chengqi Tang, etc., can be used酌情ly. ○For heat conditions, decoction-wiping is most appropriate, as the ancients said, "Decoctions sweep away pathogenic heat." Former practitioners treated heat-induced irritability and thirst by crushing fresh Gegen juice and wiping the chest; this is essentially a raw application of Chai Ge Jie Ji Tang. Also, for heat-malaria, crush three earthworms, mix with Shengjiang juice, Bohe juice, white honey, and Bingpian, and apply to the chest; this is an external modification of Wei Shi's Dilong Yin. All heat conditions respond well, often bringing recovery. There are many methods of applying herb dregs. Jie'an treated heat transmitting inward by stir-frying bran with salt and ironing the chest and abdomen to promote medicinal action, showing that skilled external therapists utilize such methods, which can be extended.) Heat Diseases (Re Bing): In early spring and summer, yang qi expands, warmth becomes heat; treatment is the same. Warm Epidemics (Wenyi): Warm diseases transmitted through heavenly qi (contagion). Warm Toxins (Wendu): Severe epidemics becoming toxic.
Wind-heat attacking upward. Swelling of the head, face, cheeks, and around the ears, alternating chills and fever, dry mouth and tongue, possibly accompanied by sore throat: (This refers to contagious warm epidemics and warm toxins. Some call late-onset winter-warmth affecting Yangming meridian "Big Head Plague" (Datou Wen) or "Head-Binding Fire Blister" (Baotou Huodan); affecting Shaoyang meridian causes swelling around ears called "Toad Plague" (Hamawen); swelling starting from jaw/cheeks is "Lu Plague". Severe cases involve throat blockage, which is ominous. Swollen painful cheeks are Mumps (Zhasai); non-painful swelling is Parotitis (Fayi), both heat conditions. ○For Big Head Plague, first use Shangqing San with Bingpian to induce sneezing, especially for sore throats. The text also suggests Yanhusuo and Qingdai. Sprinkle Qingdai powder on paste and apply to swollen areas, or decoct Dahuang, Jianghuang, Puhuang, Muxiang, Binglang, Ming Xionghuang, Ya Zao, Jiangcan, Ma Qianzi, Chuanxiong, Baizhi, Yanxiao, Paojia, and Chantui in vinegar and honey for application. If it does not dissipate but forms pus, apply Yuntai Paste and Wulong Ding. If pus has drained, use Malantou juice to wash out heat, then reapply Yuntai Paste to promote pus discharge and add Wulong Ding. For severe exterior symptoms of Big Head Plague, use Jingfang Baidu San or Puji Xiaodu Yin decoction wiped on the chest. For severe interior symptoms, use Longhu Shuangjiang San or Fangfeng Tongsheng San plus Yuanshen and Niuzi, wiped on chest or back to clear internal heat. ○For mumps, apply Mumps Paste or decoct Weishi's formula for mumps, mouth ulcers, and throat closure (Bixue Dan, Puhuang, Qingdai, Yanxiao, Sheng Gancao) for wiping, then apply, plus Chixiaodou and Furongye in vinegar and honey, or apply Yuntai Paste with Wulong Ding. Formulas are available in the text.)
Also wind-heat attacking upward. Red Eyes (Chiyan - Liver meridian wind-heat), Toothache (Yateng - Kidney deficiency causes shaking without pain; pain is wind-fire/insects; long-term pain may become Bone-Trench Wind/Jaw Lock; post-heat illness fire-toxin remaining in Stomach causes Gingival Bleeding/Ya Xuan and Gum Rot/Ya Gang), Tinnitus/Deafness/Ear Pain (Ering Erlong Ertong - All Shaoyang meridian wind-heat; pain types include dry pain and purulent pain), Mouth Ulcers/Canker Sores (Koumi Kou Chuang - Lips/mouth belong to Spleen, tongue to Heart; wind-heat causes sores), Throat Closure (Hou Bi - i.e., obstruction), Wind-Throat (Hou Feng - Internal wrapping, External wrapping), Tonsillar Abscess (Hou E - Single tonsil, Double tonsils), and other conditions.
For red eyes and swelling/pain, use Shangqing San blown into nose to induce sneezing, apply paste to temples, or use Tongzhi Redu Modified Five-Yellow Ding (Huanglian, Huangqin, Huangbai, Dahuang raw; Huangdan fried, 1 liang each; Puhuo, Qianghuo, Fangfeng, Shengdi, Danggui, Chuanxiong, Chishao, Pixiao, Yanxiao 5 qian each; Xionghuang, Tonglv 3 qian each; Kufan 1 qian; dissolved in Niu Jiao water to make a solid cake). Apply one cake ground with vinegar and honey to eyelids, or boil one cake for washing. Can be prepared in advance. Alternatively, wash eyes with Ju Hua and child's urine, or hot tofu/egg. Or decoct Huaier, Liushen, Sangxing, Dongqing branches, Bai Ju Hua leaves, Gouqigen leaves (1 jin each), Longdancao, Xiakucao (2 liang each), add Puxiao (4 liang) and Baipan (12 liang), boil, store in porcelain bottle, dilute with warm water for washing. Treats old eyes. ○For toothache, use Shangqing San with Bingpian to induce sneezing, sprinkle paste on cheek. Text formulas: Stomach fire heavy - wipe with Dahuang, Baizhi, Sheng/Shu Shigao; Yin deficiency fire flare - wipe with Yuanshen, Xixin, Qing/Bai Pan salt; do not swallow. Wind pain - decoct Lu Fengfang, do not swallow. Insect pain - bite Tongqisha medicine on pain site, fry Xionghuang in sesame oil, do not swallow. ○Bone-Trench Wind: Apply Yuntai Paste, differentiate cold/heat, use Yuchi San or Bibie San with vinegar. ○Gum Rot: Sprinkle Zixue Dan on paste applied to chest, or wipe with Huanglian/Shigao decoction then paste, blow Renzhongbai mixed with Bingpian in human milk, apply Qingdai San to head. For severe gum rot, apply Dahuang, Dingxiang, Ludou to sole (Mao's method). ○Gingival Bleeding: Apply paste to cheek. Kidney heat - wipe with Hanliancao, decoct Digupi, do not swallow. Stomach heat - wipe with Dahuang, grind Wutonglei, sprinkle. ○Tinnitus/Deafness: Cut paste half-open, place on Ear Gate, apply Longhui Ding ground with vinegar around ear. Longhui Ding uses Chaihu, Longdancao, Huangqin, Qingpi, Dansheng, Lvhua, Huanglian, Qingdai, Dahuang, Mutong, Changpu, Zaojiao, Xixin (1 liang each), Quanxie (3), Chenxiaofen fried black (5 liang), ground, mixed with Green Fish Gallbladder juice, Shengjiang juice, Zhuli to make solid cake. Apply ground with vinegar. Treats ear pain and all Liver fire. If purulent and chronic, add Kufan, Xionghuang, Qingfen, Haipiaoxiao powder to dry pus. Ear diseases are better treated by external application than blowing/dripping. For deafness, wrap medicine in cloth as pillow for sleep, use large dose. ○Mouth Ulcers: Sprinkle Huangbai, Huangqin, Huanglian, Zhizi, Xixin, Ganjiang equal parts on paste applied to chest/navel, named Fuyan San (from Compendium). Or decoct Daochi San combined with Liangge San for chest wiping to clear internal heat, then paste, and apply Ercha ground with Jinmo to lesion, or powder of WuBeizi, Baicaoshuang, Huashi, Bailuoshi shell, and Honey-fried Huangbai. If cooling medicines fail, use Huanglian and Paogjiang powder. If initial treatment fails, it heals; if ulceration is severe, use Dilong, Wuyu, raw flour in vinegar on soles (Weishi's method). Mao/Lu claim divine effect. For deficient fire ascending, use Caowu, Nanxing, or Fuzi sprinkled on paste applied to sole. Qingdai San for mouth/tongue/tooth/throat uses Huanglian (3 qian), Honey-fried Huangbai, Puhuang (2 qian each), Qingdai, Mangxiao, Yuanmingfen, Hanshuishi, Ercha, Xionghuang, Pengsha, WuBeizi (1 qian each), Piaozhusha, Kufan, Tonglv, Lvfan, Bohe, Sheng Gancao (0.5 fen each), Niuhuang, Bingpian (0.3 fen each), Shexiang (0.1 fen). Mix, use Mint soup with Shengjiang juice and white honey to apply to neck, add Renzhongbai and human milk (>5 qian) to name Renzhongbai San. Same treatment. For deficient fire, use Yuanshen Siwu; for yin-cold, use Fuzi Lizhong. These pastes/medicines are contraindicated. ○Wind-Fire Throat Closure: First decoct Bohe, Jingjie, Fangfeng, Niuzi, Jiegeng, Gancao for chest/neck wiping. Then grind Bai Jiangcan (2), Leiqiu White-necked Earthworm (1), Quanxie (1), Shed Snake Skin (1, roasted) into fine powder (3 fen), mix with Shangqing San (7 fen) and Bingpian (1 fen), sniff to induce sneezing, sprinkle small amount on paste at center of throat or sides of neck. For severe cases, boil Zaojiao in vinegar to thick paste, apply over outer paste. Grind Zijin Ding with Zaojiao vinegar, apply to Guanmu (eyes/nose), opens obstruction, breaks tonsils. Alternatively, rub garlic on neck and stuff nose, breaks tonsils. Ancient method: Garlic crushed with Qingfen applied to Jingqu acupoint (back of hand, pulse depression, Lung meridian), blister overnight, puncture with silver needle to drain toxic water, cures, also treats toothache. Or prick Shaoshang acupoint to bleed to vent toxin, treats throat beads/tumors. For severe throat bi/tonsillitis with inability to swallow, use Lu's Nasal Plug (Bohe, Xixin, Basuang, Bingpian equal parts cotton-wrapped), plug nose for one hour until head cools and throat opens; harmless afterwards, wash with Yinhua/Gancao water. Materia Medica notes Basuang with Shexiang for rapid throat obstruction, using heat to treat heat for circulation. Burning rolled paper to smoke nose is also good. For urgent wind-throat/rotten throat/single-double tonsils, use Xu's Yigong San: Banmao (wing/legs removed, fried with glutinous rice, remove rice, 4 qian), Yuanshen (0.8 fen), Zhenxu Ruxiang/Moyao (de-oiled, 0.6 fen each), Quanxie (0.6 fen), Bingpian (0.3 fen), Shexiang (0.2 fen). Mix, sprinkle 1 fen on paste applied to external throat lesion for 1-2 hours until white bubble rises, puncture to drain toxic water, cures. For non-painful rotten throat, Zhang's formulas in text are effective. Deficient/cold syndromes treated separately; these pastes/medicines contraindicated.)
Heat Excess Chest Binding (Re Shi Jie Xiong): Fullness/hardness below heart, irritability, thirst. Apply paste to chest/back, or decoct Xiao Chaihu Tang combined with Xiao Xianxiong Tang. Also for water/phlegm binding. Severe cases: sprinkle Dahuang, Mangxiao, Gansui, Zhishi powder on paste, apply. Also decoct one portion with white honey and egg white for chest/abdomen application, keep moist, binding resolves downward.
Heat Toxin Spots (Re Du Fa Ban): Large red spots on skin are Ban (macules); small red spots under skin are Zhen (papules); Zhen is mild, Ban is severe. ○First decoct Zicao Rong for chest wiping, sprinkle small amount on paste applied to chest, back, navel. Zicao Rong is key for venting spots. Or decoct Xiaoban Yin, Juban Tang, Liangxue Dihuang Tang, Xijiao Daqing Tang, etc., wipe then paste. Or just Xijiao, Daqing, Shengdi. Refer to text for Shengma water and pig bile washing.
Heat Symptoms: Epistaxis, Hematemesis, Blood Stasis, Melena, Hematuria. Epistaxis belongs to Lung fire; paste chest/back, no hemostatics initially. Severe: decoct Xijiao Dihuang Tang, Huanglian, Danpi, Ce Baiye, wipe then paste, add Chuanxiong, Xiangfu. Or use Bohe, Ce Baiye, He Ye, Qian Cao Gen. For chronic epistaxis, soak Huangqin in water, grind Baiji, apply to Shangen. Use Hongbao Gao with vinegar on back of head/neck to cut blood flow. If uncontrolled, soak Shengdi in aged ink, stuff nose, add Longgu, hair ash. Stomach heat: add Qingwei Gao to Zhongwan. Or decoct Maidong, Zhimu, Mudanpi, Niu Dihuang, Lian Baishao, Shigao, Danggui, Niuxi, Zexie, wipe then paste. Kidney heat: add Ziyin Gao to Dantian. Or decoct Yuanshen, Zhimu, Huangbai, Guiban with Siwu Tang, wipe then paste. Critical: wet paper with well water/vinegar on fontanelle, soak hair in water, tie middle finger with three hairs of patient and black thread (left male, right female), apply garlic to soles. Text has formula. ○Hematemesis belongs to Stomach fire; paste chest/back. Or use Xijiao Dihuang Tang wipe then paste. Or refer to Qingwei Gao/Maidong. Kidney heat: use Ziyin Gao as above. ○Blood Stasis divided into three parts: Lower abdomen stasis causes hardness/pain. Decoct Zisu Tang or Susu, Danggui, Dahuang, Chishao, Taoren, Lingzhi, Honghua, wipe then paste. ○Melena: paste navel/anus. Or decoct Chuanxiong, Danggui, Huanglian, Huaihua, wash anus, paste. ○Hematuria: paste lower abdomen. Or decoct Puhuang, Hanliancao, Cheqianzi, wash lower abdomen, paste.
Heat Strangury (Re Lin): First decoct Mutong for chest/navel wiping, sprinkle Xiaoshi powder on paste at navel, refer to Xingshui Gao. ○Ancient formulas Bazheng San, Shanzhi, Huashi can be decocted/wiped. For bloody strangury pain, decoct Xiaoji, Yimucao, Duniu Xi, Cheqianzi, Fazhui, wipe then paste.
Heat Toxin Descending: Anus swelling/pain treated as hemorrhoids. Decoct Shandougen or Machixian, wash then paste. Or use Kangong Ding. For severe prolapse due to extreme heat, sprinkle Huangqin, Fangfeng, Chantui powder on paste, sit on snail. Text has formula.
Heat Constipation (Re Mi): First decoct Dahuang, Mangxiao, Zaojiao for navel/abdomen wiping, sprinkle Xiaoshi powder on paste at navel, refer to Tong Dabian Fang.
Foot Wind (Jiao Feng): Red/swollen/hot/painful, prefers wind. Apply paste to site. Or use Xu's Cangzhu, Huangbai, Fangji, Haitongpi in vinegar.

Five zang郁fire cleared by Qingdai. Triple Burner/Intestine excess heat cleared by Mangxiao. Epidemic toxin/organ heat cleared by Qinlian Zhibo Dahuang Sheng Gancao, or Chidou Ludou Heidou. Five-center heat cleared by Qianghuo, Chaihu, Shengma, Gange. Accumulated heat cleared by Zixue Dan (sprinkle/apply/decoct). Ancient fire-clearing formulas can be selected similarly.
○Adult Stroke Heat Syndrome: Stroke with body heat, irritability, constipation. Paste chest/back/navel. If heat blocks orifices causing aphasia or internal heat, wipe chest with Niuhuang Qingxin Wan, then paste. Or decoct Lianqiao, Bohe, Huanglian, Huangqin, Yujin, Zhizi, Renzhonghuang, Xijiao, Lingjiao, add Zhusha/Niuhuang, wipe. Treats warm epidemic invading pericardium causing coma. ○Stroke symptoms are many; this is one example.
Pediatric Convulsion Phlegm-Heat: Decoct Bohe, Fangfeng, Maidong, Dansheng, Huanglian, Guishen, Lingjiao for chest/back wiping, then paste. Jaw lock: Duniu Xi in vinegar on neck. Text has back-chest-foot methods. ○All pediatric convulsions: Dansheng, Gancao, Tianma, Chuanlian, Zhusha, Quanxie, Jiangcan (1 qian each), Niuhuang (0.3 fen), Bingpian (0.5 fen), ground, mix with water/mint soup, wipe chest/back. ○Pediatric phlegm confusion/unconscious/salivating/spasms: Dansheng Wan uses Chen Dansheng (1.5 liang), Xijiao/Lingjiao (1 liang each), Sheng Longchi (7 qian), Baijiezi (5 qian), Chensha (1 qian), pill with Chenmi Tang, gold foil coat. Prepare for emergency. One pill wipes chest/back and applies to navel.
Pediatric Internal Heat: Sprinkle Zhusha/Huanglian on paste at chest/back. Five-center heat indicates food stagnation; refer to Jinxian Gao.
○Women Heat Entering Blood Chamber: Paste chest and Qimen acupoint (1.5 cun lateral to nipple, 1.5 cun down, Liver point). Or decoct Chaihu Puyu Tang (Chaihu 2 qian, Huangqin, Banxia, Shengdi, Danggui, Chishao 1 qian each, Gancao 0.5 fen), wipe, add Taoren/Lingzhi 0.5 fen. Treats blood stasis.
Women Blood Binding Chest: Chest fullness, yellow complexion, spitting saliva but not swallowing, or unbearable pain. Sprinkle Dahuang powder on paste at pain site. Or decoct Tao Ren Cheng Qi Tang, wipe then paste. Use Weishi's Haige San (Haige Fen 1 liang, Liuyi San 2 liang, Mangshao 0.5 qian, egg white) over paste. Small intestine benefits, Danzhong blood scatters, pain stops. For pain radiating to back with spasms, Weishi's Yuanhu San (Puhuang, Yuanhu, Jianghuang, Guishao, Guimuxiang, Ruxiang, Moyao) in Shengjiang juice. Blood moves with heat; refer to Tao Ren Cheng Qi.
Women Heat Binding Blood Closure: Decoct Shengdi, Danggui, Chishao, Taoren, Lingzhi, Dahuang, Danpi, Qiancao, Mutong, wash lower abdomen, paste. Or Siwu Tang combined with Liangge San for chest/navel wiping. For retrograde flow, decoct Yujin with Leizhi juice/Niuxi for chest wiping. ○Yujin treats retrograde menstruation.
○External Sores/Poisons with red/swollen/hot/pain: All treated. If toxin attacks heart causing vomiting/anorexia, paste chest/back to protect heart. Many lesions: mix medicine with sesame oil and wash. Medicine is difficult, mainly in diagnosis. Paste uses general treatment for cleverness. Adding meds cannot be confused. Experts excel here; amateurs fail here. I open this door, but users must deliberate carefully, lest they be laughed at for gilding the lily. Urgently advised. All pastes are like this.
