服矾法 如遇每年常患火眼之人，传服此法奇验。每逢冬令交四九第一日起，
每早吞生明矾五七分。如此九日，可保一年不患火眼。
将矾打碎，拣去大块，扫去细末，只取匀净小块五七分，开水一盅，先吃一口
咽于喉舌，将矾置于手掌心内送下喉间，再用开水吞之。倘有未曾咽下之矾，用水漱
吐出，则不涩矣。
又方 用生红枣去核，纳皂矾少许，捏紧，入火 存性，泡开水，洗火眼如神。
又方
川黄连（一钱） 生明矾（八分） 大黑枣（一枚、去核） 水一盅煎洗。
又方 王瓜一条去穣，纳皂矾少许化水，以水洗之。
又方
防风 薄荷叶 当归 杏仁 朴硝 川黄连 烧盐（各等分） 枯矾 铜青 硼砂（各少许）
上为末，每用三分，井水浸洗。
又方
大红枣（二枚，去核，入明矾、铜绿各三分于内，扎紧，湿纸包， 成性，打碎） 川黄连（三分）
入绢包好，水二盅煎一半，入冰片少许，每日洗三四次。
又方
花椒（七粒） 川黄连 胆矾（各一分） 桑叶（七片）
滚汤泡汁，待温洗之。
又方 红枣一枚去核入青矾一分五厘于内，以火 红，加古钱一枚，同枣入
水碗中，露一宿，炖温洗之。

水一碗，将药投入，隔水煮透取起洗之。

杏仁（七粒，去皮、尖，研） 甘草（一钱）
入水碗内，纸盖，饭上蒸；再入皂矾一钱，略煎先熏后洗，立消。
又方 凡风热眼作痛、作痒及天行害眼、赤眼、风泪眼，用皮硝六钱，新汲
水一盅，煎七分，入瓷器内，候冷定洗眼，每日洗四五次，眼须微开，令水入目内，用
中指擦五遍，如痒甚加明矾一二钱泡洗即止。

水半盅入药，饭上蒸，洗眼如神，一日洗三次，二日即止痛。
又方（张仲景）
人参 黄连 明矾（各三分） 大黑枣（一个） 人乳（一合）
水半盅同煎二沸，即取洗眼，日七次，三日愈。此方洗虚实眼神效。
又方（冯鲁瞻）
真川连（三钱） 生粉草（六分） 杏仁（去皮、生用八粒） 铜青（三分） 胆矾（一分） 大圆枣（一枚）
上味称准，不得加减分厘，头煎与二煎和匀，用新棉花收之，乘热擦眼，以喉
中作苦为度。余者晒干，可藏数十年。此料可治十数人，不拘风火眼，频洗立效。老
眼昏花流泪者，洗之如少年。

赤肿作痛 生地酒浸，捣烂浓涂眼上。
又方 豆腐切片，乘温贴眼胞上。
又方 鸡蛋煮熟去壳，剖两开去黄，乘热合眼上。
又方 临睡以水湿透眼眶上下，将眼合紧，用筛过明矾末浓敷一宿，肿痛自消。
风火赤眼云翳点药（北京僧授）
蕤仁（去心、皮、膜、油，净、一钱） 硼砂（飞净、二分五厘） 冰片（二厘） 野荸荠（取粉、
五分） 明矾（极细、五厘） 麝香（一厘）
加金箔十张，研极细，瓷瓶密贮，点两目 内。
真人碧雪膏 治男妇冷泪常流，并暴赤眼点之神效。腊月内三辰日，取羯羊胆十数个，
将蜜装胆内，绵纸虚茏，吊檐下一七日，鸡翎扫下胆上霜，瓷瓶密贮，以骨簪排点眼角内。
诸般目疾。
荆芥 甘菊花 白芷 鲜薄荷 防风 密蒙花 甘草 黑芝麻 川芎（各等分）
共磨细，每日早、中、晚清茶调服二钱。
点风火眼昏眼，云翳攀睛。
荸荠粉 生姜（取汁澄粉） 透明硼砂（各一钱）
上乳细加冰片二分，又乳匀以人乳调点。
目肿而痛，多泪多眵，红而如有物似针触者，是实火证（岐天师）
柴胡 白蒺藜 半夏 黑山栀 甘草
水煎服。（此方之妙，全在直散肝胆之郁火，火散则热自退，不攻之功胜于攻，不下之下胜于下也。一
剂奏功，不必再服。）
又方
当归（五钱） 川黄连（去毛） 枯矾（各一钱） 铜青（三分）
烧酒浸洗，其肿自消，其痛自止，每日可洗两三次。
眼肿不开 真三七磨汁涂眼眶，一宿即愈。
洗眼寄方（出《道藏》） 张道人从《道藏》内检来普济十方，不论瞽目云雾，风
火昏花，洗之自明。
皮硝（六钱） 生桑白皮（一两）
白水煎，每遇日期热洗数十次。日期开后∶正月初五日 二月初二日，三月初
三日，四月初九日，五月初五日，六月初四日，七月初三日，八月初十日，九月十
二日、十月十二日，十一月初四日，十二月初四日，闰月同本月。已上吉星日子，乃
通光明也。其方千金不易，屡试屡验。
洗眼仙方
防风（五分） 硼砂 胆矾（各二厘五毫） 同煎汤洗。
洗风火湿热红肿眼方（南京四圣堂道士汤松阿传）
苦参（切片） 杏仁（去皮、尖，研，各三钱） 胆矾（八分）
入碗内，开水冲上，以棉纸糊碗口，纸上戳眼，将病眼熏之，待温去纸洗眼，仍
将棉纸糊好，隔水顿热，又熏又洗神验。
蕤仁膏（《张氏眼科家秘》） 治一切风火眼，远年近日眼疾如神。
蕤仁霜（一两五钱） 朱砂（水飞） 硼砂（各二钱） 冰片 麝香（各五分）
共乳极细，用炼蜜调成膏密贮。每用少许点大小 。
洗眼仙水（《阮氏秘方》）
胆矾（先研细） 连翘 防风 荆芥 红花（各三钱） 铜绿 明矾 皮硝 当归尾
甘菊花 赤芍药（各五钱） 杏仁（研） 桃仁（各四十粒，研）
共入坛内，用烧滚河水、井水各五斤冲入药内，重汤煮大半炷香，将坛半段埋
在土内盖好。每次用药水一酒杯，以软绢蘸洗，一日即愈。
火眼 北细辛 川牛膝 龙胆草 当归尾各二钱，作一剂，白水煎服，即愈。
洗时眼（方千上）
山栀子（十四个） 桑白皮（二钱八分） 明矾（七分） 黑枣（七个）
河水一碗煎半碗洗之。
治风痰偏头痛攻于眼目，视物不明，痛不可忍者。
陈胆星 明天麻（湿草纸包煨） 制半夏 川贝母 川羌活 防风 黄柏 浓朴 北
细辛 知母 元参 前胡
痛甚加蔓荆子。白水煎十剂见效，三十剂全愈。永忌猪肉，要紧。
洗风热眼痛痒，并天行害眼及风泪赤眼 皮硝六钱，新汲凉水一瓯，煎七分，
入瓷器内，入阴凉地上出毒，候冷洗眼，日三五次，将目渐开，少渗硝水入目，用中
指擦五遍，眼红瞳子内痒甚，加明矾一二钱同泡，效尤速。
风热赤眼 冬青子不拘多少。捣汁熬膏，净瓶收固埋地中七日，每日点眼。
又方 自己小便除去两头者抹洗。
敷火眼痛眼风热眼 天南星、赤小豆各等分，研细生姜汁，调敷太阳穴。
火眼红肿如桃
白川芎（五钱） 川黄连 鹅不食草（阴干，各一两）
共研细末，瓷瓶密贮。口中预含冷水，取药少许吹入鼻窍后，待口中水热吐出即消。
眼胞肿大痛不可忍 母生姜连皮捣取净汁，枯白矾三钱调成膏，涂眼胞上，勿令入目，立消。
一切风赤眼，眼皮瘙痒赤烂，久治不效 腊月猪肉五钱，先熬化，渐入白蜜
少许，加入白腊三钱熔化，入研细。
轻粉一钱，冷定不时搽赤皮上。
洗风毒赤眼翳膜 黄连 赤芍药 当归尾（各等分，）煎水乘热洗之，日三五次。
风泪眼每出则泪流盈颊。
谷精草（为君） 甘枸杞 白蒺藜（为佐）
共磨细末，羊肝蒸熟，捣和为丸，不终剂而愈。
风泪不止。
芦甘石（ 研，水飞、一钱） 海螵蛸（五分） 冰片（少许）
共乳细，点大眼 角，泪即收。
烂弦风眼，冷泪痒涩有虫 母生姜一块，以银簪插入，即拔出，点眼 角。
洗眼 大红枣七八枚去核，每个人皂矾少许于内缚住，用陈米升半煮饭，将
枣放饭上蒸之，约一时许，枣熟收藏听用。
每次用滚汤大半盅取枣一枚入汤泡化，先闭眼用物指蘸抹五六回后，开眼洗
抹二十回。一枣水可留洗五六日，顿温洗每日五六次。但洗时稍痛，却有奇功。
风火眼
白芷 桑白皮 铜绿（各四两） 皂矾（八两） 红枣（去皮、核，生的四两，煮熟的六两捣膏）
上研细，同枣膏和丸如龙眼核大。每用一丸，开水泡洗。
洗眼（钱竹 ） 赤眼红肿或疼或痒。
当归（一钱二分） 白芍（八分） 杏仁（或用蕤仁） 黄连（各六分） 铜青（三分）
共入锅内煎一二滚，入人乳一酒杯，乘热洗。
火眼
川芎（二钱） 猪牙皂（二钱） 青黛（一钱）
共乳极细末，左眼患，吹左鼻孔，右眼吹右鼻孔，两眼吹两鼻孔。
广大重明汤 洗眼痒。
防风 北细辛 甘草 龙胆草 菊花（各等分）
水煎，乘热洗。
洗肝汤 暴赤眼肿痛，服一二剂后，服清火药。
当归 赤芍 羌活 生地 防风（各一钱） 川芎 白芷（各八分） 生大黄（二钱） 薄荷（七分）
水煎服。
产妇月内眼痛 黄连研末水调搓足
心；或姜汁调白矾末搽足心；或天南星四钱、生大黄六钱研细，以醋调稠，左眼痛
涂右足心，右眼痛涂左足心，以口中有药味效。
洗风火时眼
明矾 铜绿（各三钱）
研细，用白果肉、乌梅肉、杏仁各三十个，研烂和丸如芡实大，用纱袋包裹线
扎，投滚水内，泡出绿水，青布洗眼。
眼药
芦甘石（倾银罐内 红，淬入童便内七次，三钱） 白硼砂 海螵蛸（河水煮七次，内外极淡为度，
各二钱） 冰片（二分） 龙胆草（二两。水洗净，入磁壶内，水五盅煮至二盅，滤过再熬成膏）
用膏调匀，搓如线香样，外以宫粉为衣，贮于鹅毛管内。用时以骨簪蘸点。
碧玉丹 治一切火眼并痘风，赤烂弦风，拳毛倒睫，泪涩难开。
黄连 杏仁霜 秦皮 苏薄荷（各一两） 铜青（三钱） 明矾（一钱五分） 川椒（五分） 官粉（一钱）
共研细末，用乌梅肉五钱，入井水少许浸烂，加白果肉三两，同捣如泥，和前
药末为丸，龙眼核大。每用一丸入凉水五六匙浸化，任点洗。
箍眼药 治远年近日诸般赤肿眼疾火眼。
官粉（四两） 铜青（五钱） 白灵药（四钱） 麝香 冰片（各三分）
共研极细，用黄柏、归尾各四两，水七碗煎至半碗，去渣，入广胶三钱化开，入
前药做长条，阴干，用清水磨涂上下四围三次，待干洗去。
蕤仁膏（张仁寰） 治赤肿火眼，烂弦风眼，并疼痛不忍一切等证。
蕤仁（去壳、去皮，去油，取净霜一两六钱） 朱砂 硼砂 黄丹（各二钱） 麝香 冰片（各七分）
共研细，用上好本地蜜入锅内熬一滚去沫，候温入药于乳钵内，共研成膏，注瓷罐内任用。
火睛疼痛（钱仲林） 生地黄不拘多少，切薄片，入火硝少许，同白酒捣烂如
泥，丸如蛋大，敷脑后枕骨、风池处。将带子扎好片时即止。
【服矾法】如果遇到每年常患火眼（急性结膜炎）的人，传授服用此法效果奇特。每逢冬季进入“四九”的第一天起，每天早晨吞服生明矾五到七分。这样连续九天，可以保证一年不患火眼。将明矾打碎，拣去大块，扫去细末，只取均匀洁净的小块五到七分，用一杯开水，先喝一口润喉，将明矾放在手掌心内送入咽喉，再用开水吞下。如果有未咽下的明矾，用水漱口吐出，就不会感到涩口了。
【又方】用生红枣去掉核，放入少许皂矾，捏紧，用火煅烧至存性（保留药性），泡入开水中，用来洗火眼，效果如神。
【又方】川黄连（一钱）、生明矾（八分）、大黑枣（一枚，去核），用水一盅煎煮后清洗。
【又方】防风、薄荷叶、当归、杏仁、朴硝、川黄连、烧盐（各等分），枯矾、铜青、硼砂（各少许）。以上药物研成粉末，每次用三分，用井水浸泡清洗。
【又方】大红枣（二枚，去核，放入明矾、铜绿各三分在内，扎紧，用湿纸包裹，煅烧至存性，打碎），川黄连（三分）。装入绢袋包好，用水两盅煎至一半，加入少许冰片，每天清洗三四次。
【又方】花椒（七粒）、川黄连、胆矾（各一分）、桑叶（七片）。用滚开的汤泡出汁液，待温度适宜时清洗。
【又方】红枣一枚，去核，放入青矾一分五厘在内，用火煅烧至红，加古钱币一枚，同枣一起放入水碗中，露天放置一夜，炖温后清洗。
【洗眼明目日期】皮硝六钱煎水。
正月初五日、二月初一日；
三月初四日、五月初一日；
六月初四日、七月初二日；
八月初一日、九月初三日；
十月初六日、十二月初五日。
【又方】生姜洗净，捣取自然汁，储存在磁盆中，在烈日下晒干刮取，装在瓷瓶中密封保存。每次用少许点在大眼角。
【又方】朴硝泡水，频繁清洗。一切风火湿引起的眼病，可以避免眼角溃烂。
【又方】小茴香（一钱）、冰糖、黑葡萄干（各二钱）、铜绿（八分）、明矾（六分）。用天水一碗或雪水浸泡，露天放置一夜，冷洗。如有翳障，加海螵蛸去甲，二钱。
【又方】防风、荆芥（各五分）、杏仁、桃仁（各十粒）、胆矾、枯矾（各一分）。用水一碗，将药投入，隔水煮熟取出清洗。
【又方】杏仁（七粒，去皮、尖，研碎）、甘草（一钱）。放入水碗内，用纸盖住，在饭上蒸；再加入皂矾一钱，略煎，先熏后洗，立即消除症状。
【又方】凡是风热眼作痛、作痒及天行害眼（传染性眼病）、赤眼、风泪眼，用皮硝六钱，新汲水一盅，煎至七分，倒入瓷器内，候冷定后洗眼，每天洗四五次，眼睛须微开，让水进入眼内，用中指擦拭五遍，如果痒得厉害，加明矾一二钱泡洗即可停止。
【又方】川黄连、皂矾（各三分）。水洗一小时，搽数次，肿痛自然消除。
【又方】胡黄连、白蒺藜、炒黄芩、石决明、苏薄荷、当归、北细辛、家菊花、木贼草、黑山栀、粉甘草、连翘、蝉蜕、怀熟地、陈皮、龙胆草。以上各一钱，水三碗，煎至一半，临睡前温服，忌生气恼怒。

【治风痰偏头痛攻于眼目，视物不明，痛不可忍者】陈胆星、明天麻（湿草纸包煨）、制半夏、川贝母、川羌活、防风、黄柏、浓朴、北细辛、知母、元参、前胡。痛甚加蔓荆子。白水煎十剂见效，三十剂全愈。永忌猪肉，要紧。
【洗风热眼痛痒，并天行害眼及风泪赤眼】皮硝六钱，新汲凉水一瓯，煎七分，入瓷器内，入阴凉地上出毒，候冷洗眼，日三五次，将目渐开，少渗硝水入目，用中指擦五遍，眼红瞳子内痒甚，加明矾一二钱同泡，效尤速。
【风热赤眼】冬青子不拘多少。捣汁熬膏，净瓶收固埋地中七日，每日点眼。
【又方】自己小便除去两头者抹洗。
【敷火眼痛眼风热眼】天南星、赤小豆各等分，研细生姜汁，调敷太阳穴。
【火眼红肿如桃】白川芎（五钱）、川黄连、鹅不食草（阴干，各一两）。共研细末，瓷瓶密贮。口中预含冷水，取药少许吹入鼻窍后，待口中水热吐出即消。
【眼胞肿大痛不可忍】母生姜连皮捣取净汁，枯白矾三钱调成膏，涂眼胞上，勿令入目，立消。
【一切风赤眼，眼皮瘙痒赤烂，久治不效】腊月猪肉五钱，先熬化，渐入白蜜少许，加入白腊三钱熔化，入研细。轻粉一钱，冷定不时搽赤皮上。
【洗风毒赤眼翳膜】黄连、赤芍药、当归尾（各等分），煎水乘热洗之，日三五次。
【风泪眼每出则泪流盈颊】谷精草（为君）、甘枸杞、白蒺藜（为佐）。共磨细末，羊肝蒸熟，捣和为丸，不终剂而愈。
【风泪不止】芦甘石（研，水飞，一钱）、海螵蛸（五分）、冰片（少许）。共乳细，点大眼角，泪即收。
【烂弦风眼，冷泪痒涩有虫】母生姜一块，以银簪插入，即拔出，点眼角。
【洗眼】大红枣七八枚去核，每个人皂矾少许于内缚住，用陈米升半煮饭，将枣放饭上蒸之，约一时许，枣熟收藏听用。每次用滚汤大半盅取枣一枚入汤泡化，先闭眼用物指蘸抹五六回后，开眼洗抹二十回。一枣水可留洗五六日，顿温洗每日五六次。但洗时稍痛，却有奇功。
【风火眼】白芷、桑白皮、铜绿（各四两）、皂矾（八两）、红枣（去皮、核，生的四两，煮熟的六两捣膏）。上研细，同枣膏和丸如龙眼核大。每用一丸，开水泡洗。
【洗眼（钱竹）】赤眼红肿或疼或痒。当归（一钱二分）、白芍（八分）、杏仁（或用蕤仁）、黄连（各六分）、铜青（三分）。共入锅内煎一二滚，入人乳一酒杯，乘热洗。
【火眼】川芎（二钱）、猪牙皂（二钱）、青黛（一钱）。共乳极细末，左眼患，吹左鼻孔，右眼吹右鼻孔，两眼吹两鼻孔。
【广大重明汤】洗眼痒。防风、北细辛、甘草、龙胆草、菊花（各等分）。水煎，乘热洗。
【洗肝汤】暴赤眼肿痛，服一二剂后，服清火药。当归、赤芍、羌活、生地、防风（各一钱）、川芎、白芷（各八分）、生大黄（二钱）、薄荷（七分）。水煎服。
【产妇月内眼痛】黄连研末水调搓足心；或姜汁调白矾末搽足心；或天南星四钱、生大黄六钱研细，以醋调稠，左眼痛涂右足心，右眼痛涂左足心，以口中有药味效。
【洗风火时眼】明矾、铜绿（各三钱）。研细，用白果肉、乌梅肉、杏仁各三十个，研烂和丸如芡实大，用纱袋包裹线扎，投滚水内，泡出绿水，青布洗眼。
【眼药】芦甘石（倾银罐内煅红，淬入童便内七次，三钱）、白硼砂、海螵蛸（河水煮七次，内外极淡为度，各二钱）、冰片（二分）、龙胆草（二两。水洗净，入磁壶内，水五盅煮至二盅，滤过再熬成膏）。用膏调匀，搓如线香样，外以宫粉为衣，贮于鹅毛管内。用时以骨簪蘸点。
【碧玉丹】治一切火眼并痘风，赤烂弦风，拳毛倒睫，泪涩难开。黄连、杏仁霜、秦皮、苏薄荷（各一两）、铜青（三钱）、明矾（一钱五分）、川椒（五分）、官粉（一钱）。共研细末，用乌梅肉五钱，入井水少许浸烂，加白果肉三两，同捣如泥，和前药末为丸，龙眼核大。每用一丸入凉水五六匙浸化，任点洗。
【箍眼药】治远年近日诸般赤肿眼疾火眼。官粉（四两）、铜青（五钱）、白灵药（四钱）、麝香、冰片（各三分）。共研极细，用黄柏、归尾各四两，水七碗煎至半碗，去渣，入广胶三钱化开，入前药做长条，阴干，用清水磨涂上下四围三次，待干洗去。
【蕤仁膏（张仁寰）】治赤肿火眼，烂弦风眼，并疼痛不忍一切等证。蕤仁（去壳、去皮，去油，取净霜一两六钱）、朱砂、硼砂、黄丹（各二钱）、麝香、冰片（各七分）。共研细，用上好本地蜜入锅内熬一滚去沫，候温入药于乳钵内，共研成膏，注瓷罐内任用。
【火睛疼痛（钱仲林）】生地黄不拘多少，切薄片，入火硝少许，同白酒捣烂如泥，丸如蛋大，敷脑后枕骨、风池处。将带子扎好片时即止。
[Method of Taking Alum] For those who suffer from "fire eye" (acute conjunctivitis) annually, this method of administration is remarkably effective. Starting from the first day of the "Fourth Nine" period in winter, swallow five to seven fen of raw Ming Fan (Calcined Alum) every morning. Doing so for nine consecutive days ensures immunity from fire eye for a year. Crush the alum, remove large chunks, sweep away fine powder, and retain only uniform, clean small pieces weighing five to seven fen. Take one cup of boiling water, drink a mouthful first to moisten the throat, place the alum on the palm, slide it down the throat, and swallow with the remaining water. If any alum remains unswallowed, rinse the mouth with water and spit it out to avoid astringency.
[Another Prescription] Use fresh red dates, remove the pits, insert a small amount of Zao Fan (Green Vitriol), pinch tightly, calcine over fire until the medicinal property is retained (Cun Xing), soak in boiling water, and use to wash fire eye with miraculous effect.
[Another Prescription] Chuan Lian Lian (Rhizoma Coptidis, 1 qian), Sheng Ming Fan (Raw Calcined Alum, 8 fen), Da Hei Zao (Large Black Date, 1 piece, pitted). Decoct in one cup of water and use for washing.
[Another Prescription] One Wang Gua (Trichosanthes cucumerina), remove the pulp, add a small amount of Zao Fan to dissolve in water, and wash the affected area.
[Another Prescription] Fang Feng (Radix Saposhnikoviae), Bo He Ye (Folium Menthae), Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Xing Ren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum), Pu Xiao (Natrii Sulfas), Chuan Huang Lian (Rhizoma Coptidis), Shao Yan (Burnt Salt) in equal parts; Ku Fan (Calcined Alum), Tong Qing (Malachite), Peng Sha (Borax) in small amounts. [Another Prescription] Two Da Hong Zao (Large Red Dates), pitted, containing 3 fen of Ming Fan and 3 fen of Tong Lu (Verdigris) inside, tied tightly, wrapped in wet paper, calcined until the property is retained, then crushed. Chuan Huang Lian (3 fen). Place in a silk bag, decoct in two cups of water until reduced by half, add a small amount of Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum), and wash three to four times daily.
[Another Prescription] Hua Jiao (Fructus Zanthoxyli, 7 grains), Chuan Huang Lian, Dan Fan (Blue Vitriol) (1 fen each), Sang Ye (Folium Mori, 7 leaves). Steep in boiling water, let cool to a suitable temperature, and wash.
[Another Prescription] One red date, pitted, containing 1.5 li of Qing Fan (Blue Vitriol) inside, calcined until red, add one ancient coin, place together with the date in a bowl of water, leave exposed overnight, warm gently, and wash.
[Dates for Washing Eyes to Brighten Vision] Decoct 6 qian of Pi Xiao (Mirabilite).

[Another Prescription] Wash fresh ginger, crush to extract natural juice, store in a porcelain basin, dry under strong sunlight, scrape off, and seal in a porcelain bottle. Apply a small amount to the outer canthus of the eye each time.
[Another Prescription] Dissolve Pu Xiao in water and wash frequently. This prevents ulceration of the canthi in all cases of wind-fire-damp eye diseases.
[Another Prescription] Xiao Hui Xiang (Fructus Foeniculi, 1 qian), Bing Tang (Rock Sugar), Hei Pu Tao Gan (Black Raisins) (2 qian each), Tong Lu (8 fen), Ming Fan (6 fen). Soak in one bowl of heavenly water or snow water, expose overnight, and wash cold. If nebula exists, add Hai Piao Xiao (Cuttlefish Bone) without shell, 2 qian.
[Another Prescription] Fang Feng, Jing Jie (5 fen each), Xing Ren, Tao Ren (10 grains each), Dan Fan, Ku Fan (1 fen each). Put herbs in one bowl of water, cook thoroughly in a double boiler, remove, and wash.
[Another Prescription] Seven Xing Ren (peeled, tips removed, ground), Gan Cao (1 qian). Place in a bowl of water, cover with paper, steam over rice; add 1 qian of Zao Fan, simmer slightly, fumigate first then wash, symptoms will disappear immediately.
[Another Prescription] For wind-heat eye pain, itching, epidemic eye disease (Tian Xing Hai Yan), red eyes, and wind-tear eyes: use 6 qian of Pi Xiao, one cup of freshly drawn water, decoct to 70%, pour into a porcelain vessel, cool completely, and wash eyes. Wash 4-5 times daily, keep eyes slightly open to allow water entry, rub five times with the middle finger. If itching is severe, add 1-2 qian of Ming Fan to soak and wash to stop itching.
[Another Prescription] Chuan Huang Lian, Zao Fan (3 fen each). Wash for one hour, apply several times, swelling and pain will subside naturally.
[Another Prescription] Hu Huang Lian, Bai Ji Li, Chao Huang Qin, Shi Jue Ming, Su Bo He, Dang Gui, Bei Xi Xin, Jia Ju Hua, Mu Zei Cao, Hei Shan Zhi, Fen Gan Cao, Lian Qiao, Chan Tui, Huai Shu Di, Chen Pi, Long Dan Cao. Each herb 1 qian. Decoct in three bowls of water until half remains, take warm before sleep, avoid anger and irritation.
[Another Prescription (Master Qi)] For solid fire eye: redness and swelling like a peach pit, continuous tearing, soreness, photophobia, and excessive discharge. Huang Lian (1 qian), Ming Fan (3 fen), Jing Jie (5 fen), Hua Jiao (7 grains), Sheng Jiang (1 slice). Decoct half a bowl of water, wash while hot, seven times a day, cured the next day.
[Another Prescription (Master Qi)] For deficient fire eye: redness without pain or astringency, no tears or discharge. Ren Ru (Human Milk, half cup), Sheng Di Huang (2 qian), Ming Fan (5 li), Wei Rui Ren (5 fen, shelled, 1 fen ground). Decoct half a bowl of water with human milk to obtain a small amount of medicinal juice, wash seven times, cured the next day.
[Another Prescription (Lord Lei Zhen Jun)] Chai Hu, Fang Feng (2 fen each), Huang Lian (3 fen), Ming Fan (1 fen), Hua Jiao (3 grains). Half a bowl of water with herbs, steam over rice, wash eyes with miraculous effect, three times a day, pain stops in two days.
[Another Prescription (Zhang Zhongjing)] Ren Shen, Huang Lian, Ming Fan (3 fen each), Da Hei Zao (1 piece), Ren Ru (1 he). Half a bowl of water, boil twice, take to wash eyes, seven times a day, cured in three days. This prescription is highly effective for both excess and deficiency eye conditions.

Bai Zhu (earth-fried, 5 fen), Chai Hu (7 fen), Zhi Ke (fried), Qiang Huo, Bai Zhi, Chuan Xiong, Du Huo, Fang Feng, Qian Hu, Bo He, Jie Geng (4 fen each), Jing Jie, Gan Cao (3 fen each), Huang Qin (6 fen), Xing Ren (peeled, tips removed, fried, 3 fen). [Feng Huo Chi Yan Yun Yi Dian Yao (Taught by Beijing Monk)] Rui Ren (heart, skin, membrane, oil removed, pure, 1 qian), Peng Sha (flying pure, 2.5 li), Bing Pian (2 li), Ye Bi Qi (powder taken, 5 fen), Ming Fan (very fine, 5 li), She Xiang (1 li). Add ten sheets of Jin Bo (Gold Leaf), grind extremely fine, seal in porcelain bottle, apply to both eyes.
[Zhen Ren Bi Xue Gao] Treats constant cold tearing in men and women, and sudden red eyes, effective when applied. On three Chen days in the twelfth lunar month, take over ten gallbladders from male sheep, fill with honey, wrap loosely in cotton paper, hang under eaves for seven days, sweep frost from gallbladder surface with chicken feather, seal in porcelain bottle, apply to inner canthus with bone needle.
[For Various Eye Diseases] Jing Jie, Gan Ju Hua, Bai Zhi, Xian Bo He, Fang Feng, Mi Meng Hua, Gan Cao, Hei Zhi Ma, Chuan Xiong (equal parts). Grind fine, take 2 qian mixed with clear tea morning, noon, and evening.
[For Wind-Fire Eye Blurriness and Nebula Overgrowing Pupil] Bi Qi Fen, Sheng Jiang (juice clarified into powder), Tou Ming Peng Sha (1 qian each). Grind fine, add 2 fen Bing Pian, grind evenly, mix with human milk to apply.
[Eye Swelling with Pain, Excessive Tears and Discharge, Redness Feeling Like Needle Prick: Solid Fire Syndrome (Master Qi)] Chai Hu, Bai Ji Li, Ban Xia, Hei Shan Zhi, Gan Cao. Decoct and take orally. (The妙妙 [wonder] of this prescription lies in directly dispersing liver-gallbladder stagnant fire; once fire disperses, heat retreats. [Washing Wind-Fire-Damp-Heat Red Swollen Eye Formula (Transmitted by Daoist Tang Song A of Nanjing Four Saints Temple)] Ku Shen (sliced), Xing Ren (peeled, tips removed, ground, 3 qian each), Dan Fan (8 fen). [Rui Ren Gao (Zhang Family Ophthalmology Secret)] Treats all wind-fire eyes, chronic and recent eye diseases with miraculous effect. Rui Ren Shuang (1.5 liang), Zhu Sha (water-flown), Peng Sha (2 qian each), Bing Pian, She Xiang (5 fen each). Grind extremely fine, mix with refined honey to form paste, seal tightly. [Eyelid Swelling and Pain Unbearable] Mother ginger with skin, crush to extract pure juice, mix with 3 qian Ku Bai Fan to form paste, apply to eyelids, do not let enter eyes, subsides immediately.
[All Wind-Red Eyes, Eyelid Itching/Red Rot, Chronic Ineffective Treatment] 5 qian pork from twelfth lunar month, melt first, gradually add small amount of white honey, add 3 qian white beeswax to melt, mix with finely ground Qing Fen (Calomel, 1 qian). When cool, apply intermittently to red skin.
[Washing Wind-Toxicity Red Eye Nebula] Huang Lian, Chi Shao Yao, Dang Gui Wei (equal parts), decoct water, wash while hot, 3-5 times daily.

[Rotting Lid Wind Eye, Cold Tears/Itch/Astringency with Worms] Piece of mother ginger, insert silver needle, pull out immediately, apply to canthus.
[Washing Eyes] 7-8 Da Hong Zao, pitted, tie small amount of Zao Fan inside inside, cook half sheng of aged rice into porridge, steam dates on rice for about one hour, collect when cooked for use. Each time take half cup boiling water, put one date in to dissolve, close eyes first, dip finger to wipe 5-6 times, then open eyes and wash/wipe 20 times. One date water can be kept for 5-6 days, warm and wash 5-6 times daily. Slight pain during washing but has miraculous effect.
[Wind-Fire Eye] Bai Zhi, Sang Bai Pi, Tong Lu (4 liang each), Zao Fan (8 liang), Hong Zao (skin and pit removed, raw 4 liang, cooked 6 liang mashed into paste). Grind fine, mix with date paste to form pills like longan seeds. Use one pill, soak in boiling water and wash.
[Washing Eyes (Qian Zhu)] Red eyes swollen/red, painful or itchy. Dang Gui (1.2 qian), Bai Shao (8 fen), Xing Ren (or Rui Ren), Huang Lian (6 fen each), Tong Qing (3 fen). Decoct in pot 1-2 boils, add one wine glass of human milk, wash while hot.
[Fire Eye] Chuan Xiong (2 qian), Zhu Ya Zao (2 qian), Qing Dai (1 qian). Grind extremely fine powder. If left eye affected, blow into left nostril; right eye into right nostril; both eyes into both nostrils.
[Guang Da Zhong Ming Tang] Washes itchy eyes. Fang Feng, Bei Xi Xin, Gan Cao, Long Dan Cao, Ju Hua (equal parts). Decoct, wash while hot.
[Xi Gan Tang] Sudden red eye swelling/pain, after taking 1-2 doses, take fire-clearing medicine. Dang Gui, Chi Shao, Qiang Huo, Sheng Di, Fang Feng (1 qian each), Chuan Xiong, Bai Zhi (8 fen each), Sheng Da Huang (2 qian), Bo He (7 fen). Decoct and take.
[Postpartum Eye Pain within Month] Grind Huang Lian into powder, mix with water, rub soles; or mix ginger juice with Bai Fan powder, rub soles; or Tian Nan Xing (4 qian), Sheng Da Huang (6 qian) ground fine, mix with vinegar to thick paste, left eye pain apply to right sole, right eye pain apply to left sole, effective if taste of medicine is felt in mouth.
[Washing Wind-Fire Seasonal Eye] Ming Fan, Tong Lu (3 qian each). Grind fine, mix with 30 Bai Guo Rou (Ginkgo Flesh), Wu Mei Rou (Smoked Plum Flesh), Xing Ren, mash into pills like Euryale seeds, wrap in gauze bag, tie with thread, throw into boiling water, soak out green water, wash eyes with blue cloth.
[Eye Medicine] Lu Gan Shi (calcined red in silver pot, quenched in child's urine seven times, 3 qian), Bai Peng Sha, Hai Piao Xiao (boiled in river water seven times, very pale inside/out, 2 qian each), Bing Pian (2 fen), Long Dan Cao (2 liang. Wash clean, put in porcelain pot, 5 cups water boil to 2 cups, filter, boil into paste). Mix paste evenly, roll like incense sticks, coat with Gong Fen (Lead Carbonate), store in goose quill tubes. Dip bone needle to apply when using.
[Bi Yu Dan] Treats all fire eyes, acne wind, red rotting lid wind, rolled-in eyelashes, tearfulness difficult to open. Huang Lian, Xing Ren Shuang, Qin Pi, Su Bo He (1 liang each), Tong Qing (3 qian), Ming Fan (1.5 qian), Chuan Jiao (5 fen), Guan Fen (1 qian). Grind fine, soak 5 qian Wu Mei Rou in little well water until soft, add 3 liang Bai Guo Rou, mash into mud, mix with powder to form pills like longan seeds. Use one pill, soak in 5-6 spoons cold water to dissolve, apply or wash as desired.
[Encircling Eye Medicine] Treats chronic and recent various red/swollen eye diseases/fire eyes. Guan Fen (4 liang), Tong Qing (5 qian), Bai Ling Yao (4 qian), She Xiang, Bing Pian (3 fen each). Grind extremely fine, decoct Huang Bo, Gui Wei (4 liang each) in 7 bowls water to half bowl, remove dregs, dissolve 3 qian Guang Jiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin), mix with previous medicine to make long strips, dry in shade, grind with clear water, apply around upper/lower/sides three times, wash off when dry.
[Rui Ren Gao (Zhang Renhuan)] Treats red/swollen fire eyes, rotting lid wind eyes, and unbearable pain etc. Rui Ren (shelled, peeled, oil removed, pure frost 1.6 liang), Zhu Sha, Peng Sha, Huang Dan (2 qian each), She Xiang, Bing Pian (7 fen each). Grind fine, boil good local honey in pot to remove foam, when warm put medicine in mortar, grind into paste, pour into porcelain jar for use.
[Fire Eye Pain (Qian Zhonglin)] Sheng Di Huang as needed, slice thin, add little Huo Xiao (Saltpeter), mash with white wine into mud, form pills like eggs, apply to occiput/Feng Chi area. Tie bandage tightly, pain stops shortly.
