Qin Zi said: Pain located below the stomach, around the four sides of the umbilicus, and above the pubic region is named Abdominal Pain (Futong). If the pain is located in the hypochondriac region, it is called Hypochondriac Pain (Xietong). If the pain is located above the umbilicus, it is called Stomachache (Weitong), not Abdominal Pain. Here, five types caused by external pathogens are listed, and ten types caused by internal injury are listed.
[Symptoms of Wind-Cold Abdominal Pain] When wind-cold invades the abdomen, abdominal pain occurs immediately, sometimes accompanied by aversion to cold and fever, qi attacking and flowing within the abdomen, or sounds in the abdomen, with loose stools.
[Causes of Wind-Cold Abdominal Pain] Occasionally due to thin clothing and bedding, and further injured by external wind, wind and cold often accompany each other. Wind pathogen enters the intestines and stomach, transmitting to... [Text cuts off here]
[Pulse of Wind-Cold Abdominal Pain] The pulse is floating, moderate, and not rapid, indicating wind-cold. Or a deep, moderate pulse appears, indicating wind pathogen lying latent inside. A floating and wiry pulse at the left Guan position indicates wind entering the Liver and Gallbladder.
[Treatment of Wind-Cold Abdominal Pain] For a floating and moderate pulse, dispel wind; for a deep and wiry pulse, harmonize the interior. For cases with chills and fever and a floating pulse, use Fangfeng Tang (Saposhnikovia Decoction). For sounds in the abdomen and loose stools, use Pingwei Wuling San (Pingwei and Wuling Powder) with added Fangfeng. For a slow pulse, use Jianzhong Tang (Jian Middle Decoction) with added Fangfeng. For a floating pulse on the left side, use Chaihu Tang (Bupleurum Decoction). For a floating pulse on the right side, use Gange Tang (Pueraria Decoction).

[Causes of Cold-Abdominal Pain] The abdomen belongs to the Taiyin channel. If one's Yang Qi is insufficient and they are exposed to external cold, as stated in the *Neijing*: "When cold pathogen enters the meridians, pain occurs suddenly." This explains how cold pathogen causes abdominal pain.
[Pulse of Cold-Abdominal Pain] The pulse is mostly deep and hidden, or weak, or wiry and tight, or slow and wiry.
[Treatment of Cold-Abdominal Pain] For a wiry and tight pulse at the left Guan position, scatter cold using Guizhi Shaoyao Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Peony Decoction). For a slow and wiry pulse at the right Guan position, use Jianzhong Tang from the *Jingui Yaolue*. For deep and hidden pulses in all six positions with cold limbs, use Sini Tang (Recover the Extremities Decoction). For weak pulses in all six positions indicating deficiency-cold of the Middle Qi, use Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction).
