胎儿全赖血气所养，而血气又赖脾胃水谷之精化之也。以健脾扶胃为主。八珍汤加莲肉，忌食鲤鱼、苋菜。（补五。）
肝气郁怒而气逆，则血不调，血不调则胎无以养而萎。逍遥散。（和五。）
气血寒而阳不足，则胎不长。左归饮加当归、砂仁、干姜。（补三十三。）
火邪盛而真阴损，致血热而胎不长。加味逍遥散加黄芩、川连、知母。（补二十一。）
腹胀连胸，面色或青或黄，脉涩而短，或不数月而腹大如鼓，形若抱瓮，按之其冷如冰，总缘精神虚弱，妖魅乘虚
而入之也；或本妇所愿不遂，发为白淫，流入子宫，结而为胎，均曰鬼胎。斩鬼丹。（攻一。）雄黄丸。
惊恐跌仆，中寒中热，毒药毒食，皆致伤胎。胎之生死，脉未可凭。须细心体认，必实见其口舌色青，腹冷口秽，
方可用下。
下血不止，胎上冲心，四肢厥冷，闷绝将死。竹茹、蕲艾，煎汁去渣，入阿胶、白蜜服，川芎、当归二味，煎服亦
隐。如腹中急痛，血从口出，亦用竹茹等味煎服。七宝丹亦可下胎。（散二十二。）《千金》神造汤。（攻十三。）蟹爪一升，
阿胶三两，甘草一两。
半产漏下，昏冒瞑目。因血亡而心与胞络之火上乘也。惟养血清火，俾心气清而不昏，肺气清而不瞑，庶为得法，
切忌用风药发汗。
经损而血不止。非气虚则血热。气虚，宜阿胶、艾、伏龙肝；血热，宜生地、丹皮、麦冬、茯苓、丹参、当归之类。
胎儿完全依赖血气来滋养，而血气又依赖于脾胃运化水谷精微所生成。治疗应以健脾养胃为主。使用八珍汤加入莲肉，忌食鲤鱼和苋菜。（补五。）

气血偏寒且阳气不足，导致胎儿发育不良。使用左归饮加入当归、砂仁、干姜。（补三十三。）
火邪炽盛损伤真阴，导致血热从而胎儿发育不良。使用加味逍遥散加入黄芩、黄连、知母。（补二十一。）
腹部胀满连及胸部，面色或青或黄，脉象涩而短，或者不到数月腹部便大如鼓，形状像抱着的瓮，按压时感觉冷如冰，这总归是因为精神虚弱，妖魅趁虚而入所致；或者是孕妇心愿未遂，引发白淫（非经期阴道流出白色浊液），流入子宫，凝结而成胎，都称为鬼胎。使用斩鬼丹。（攻一。）也可使用雄黄丸。
惊恐、跌打损伤，感受寒邪或热邪，服用毒药或毒物，都会导致伤胎。判断胎儿生死，仅凭脉象尚不可靠。必须细心诊察，务必确见口舌色青、腹部发冷、口中秽臭，方可使用下胎之法。
若下血不止，胎气上冲心胸，四肢厥冷，昏闷欲死。用竹茹、蕲艾煎汁去渣，加入阿胶、白蜜服用；川芎、当归两味药煎服也有效。如果腹中急痛，血液从口吐出，也用竹茹等药物煎服。七宝丹也可用于下胎。（散二十二。）《千金方》的神造汤。（攻十三。）蟹爪一升，阿胶三两，甘草一两。
半产（小产）后漏下不止，昏沉冒昧，闭目不开。这是因为失血过多，心与胞络之火上乘所致。只有采用养血清火的方法，使心气清宁而不昏乱，肺气清肃而不嗜睡，这才是得法的治疗，切忌使用风药发汗。
经脉受损而出血不止。不是气虚就是血热。气虚者，适宜用阿胶、艾叶、伏龙肝；血热者，适宜用地黄、牡丹皮、麦冬、茯苓、丹参、当归之类。
The fetus relies entirely on blood and qi for nourishment, while blood and qi are generated from the essence of water and grain transformed by the Spleen and Stomach. Treatment should focus on strengthening the Spleen and supporting the Stomach. Use Bazhen Tang (Eight Treasures Decoction) with added Lotus Seed (Lianrou), avoiding carp and amaranth. (Tonification 5.)
If Liver Qi becomes stagnant and angry, leading to rebellious Qi, blood circulation will be disordered; when blood is disordered, the fetus loses nourishment and withers. Use Xiaoyao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder). (Harmonizing 5.)
If blood and qi are cold and Yang is insufficient, the fetus fails to grow. Use Zuogui Yin (Left Restoring Decoction) with added Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Sharen (Amomum Fruit), and Ganjiang (Dried Ginger). (Tonification 33.)
If Fire pathogen is excessive and damages True Yin, causing Heat in the Blood, the fetus fails to grow. Use Jiawei Xiaoyao San (Modified Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) with added Huangqin (Scutellaria Root), Chuanlian (Coptis Rhizome), and Zhimu (Anemarrhena Rhizome). (Tonification 21.)
Abdominal distension extending to the chest, complexion either green or yellow, pulse wiry and short, or within a few months the abdomen becomes large like a drum, shaped like a jar held in arms, feeling cold as ice upon pressure. This is generally due to mental weakness, allowing evil spirits to enter when defenses are low; or it may result from unfulfilled desires of the woman, leading to Baiyin (white vaginal discharge), flowing into the uterus, condensing to form a fetus. All such cases are called Guitai (Ghost Fetus). Use Zhangui Dan (Ghost-Slaying Pill). (Attack 1.) Xionghuang Wan (Realgar Pill) is also applicable.
Fright, falls, contraction of Cold or Heat pathogens, ingestion of toxic drugs or food, all can cause injury to the fetus. The life or death of the fetus cannot be determined solely by the pulse. One must carefully examine the signs; only if the tongue and lips are clearly blue, the abdomen is cold, and there is foul breath, may one use methods to expel the fetus.
If bleeding continues without stopping, fetal Qi rushes to the heart, limbs become cold, and the patient is fainting and near death. Decoct Zhuru (Bamboo Shavings) and Qiai (Mugwort Leaf) to extract the juice, discard dregs, add Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) and white honey to take orally. Also, decocting Chuanxiong (Sichuan Lovage Rhizome) and Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) is effective. If there is acute abdominal pain and blood vomiting, decoct Zhuru and similar herbs to take. Qibao Dan (Seven Treasures Pill) can also be used to expel the fetus. (Disperse 22.) Shencao Tang (Divine Creation Decoction) from *Qianjin Fang* (Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold). (Attack 13.) Xiezha (Crab Claws) 1 sheng, Ejiao 3 liang, Gancao (Licorice Root) 1 liang.
After miscarriage (half-birth), leakage continues, accompanied by dizziness, confusion, and closed eyes. This is caused by blood loss leading to Fire from the Heart and Bao Luo (Uterine Collaterals) rising upward. Only by nourishing Blood and clearing Fire, so that Heart Qi remains clear without confusion and Lung Qi remains clear without lethargy, is this the correct method. Strictly avoid using Wind herbs to induce sweating.
Damage to meridians resulting in continuous bleeding. This is either due to Qi deficiency or Blood Heat. For Qi deficiency, Ajiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin), Aiye (Mugwort Leaf), and Fulonggan (Stove Earth) are suitable; for Blood Heat, Shengdi (Rehmannia Root), Mudanpi (Tree Peony Bark), Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber), Fuling (Poria), Danshen (Salvia Root), and Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) are suitable.
