After the delivery of the fetus, if the bladder prolapses out of the body, it is called "Jia Disease" (prolapse condition). This may be caused by excessive exertion during labor or by deficiency of both Qi and Blood. If the color of the prolapsed tissue is purplish, it is treatable; if it is pale white, it is difficult to treat. Immediately use Gouji San (Dogspine Powder) decoction to fumigate and then wash the affected area. While still warm, gently push it back inside. Internally administer Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction), remove Chaihu (Bupleurum Root), and add Vinegar-processed Baishao (White Peony Root) to astringe and lift the organ. Alternatively, externally fumigating and washing with Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark) decoction is also effective.
