Three cun below the joint. Due to variations in individuals' height and build, the location should be measured using the patient's own hand breadth (Fu, a traditional unit of measurement based on the patient's body dimensions). Moxibustion is applied here for one hundred zhuang (moxa cones). The sixth acupoint is Shanglian (Upper Margin), located one Fu below Sanli (ST36), also attached to the lateral side of the tibia. Moxibustion is applied here for one hundred zhuang. The seventh acupoint is Xialian (Lower Margin), located one Fu below Shanglian. Another version states (the two characters in the original text are rendered as "yi" in *Qianyi*) that it is attached to the lateral side of the tibia. Moxibustion is applied here for one hundred zhuang. The eighth acupoint is Juegu (GB39), located one Fu above the lateral malleolus of the foot, or alternatively stated as four cun. Moxibustion is applied here for one hundred zhuang.
For all these acupoints (*Qianyi* omits the character "acupoint"), moxibustion need not be completed in a single session; it can be administered daily over several days. It is preferable to complete the prescribed number of zhuang within three days.
The medical formula states: If one feels abnormal discomfort in the feet (rendered as "yi" in *Qianyi*, same below), moxibustion should be applied to Sanli (ST36) and Juegu (GB39), one point each. If both feet are affected, four points in total are treated (rendered as "acupoint" in *Qianyi*). The number of zhuang should vary according to the severity of the disease. Generally, even if the condition is mild, it should not be less than one hundred zhuang. If there is no improvement, proceed with sequential moxibustion; more is better.
Commentary: These eight acupoints are prefixed with ordinal numbers ("First," "Second," etc.) for sequencing, which is absent in *Qianjin Yifang*. Since the primary entries for these acupoints already exist in their respective sections, reference should be made to them.
