耳聋
一豆三斑不去油，麝香冰片共同投；葱蜜为丸麦子大，絮棉包裹耳口留；三日之后黄水
出，不痛不痒不须忧；若是此方无应验，罚做人间马与牛。 一用上好新铁片三块咬口内，
用好瓷石塞两耳静坐，其耳忽鸣而通。有顷刻通者，有坐数日通者。（《秘方集验》）
蜗牛膏（滴耳聋闭）
蜗牛一两 石胆 钟乳粉各二钱半 瓮盒盛末，火 赤，入片脑子一字，每以油调一字
滴耳
耳后锐毒（危症也，宜急治，男女小儿俱效）
大天南星（丙火存性）为末，醋涂，三次即愈。 一用大黄一两，青末香三钱，姜黄、
槟榔各三钱，共末，蜜调贴，中留一孔，效。 昔一人右耳后生一毒，肿痛寒热。生生子用
金银花、归尾、赤芍、连翘、僵蚕、牛蒡子、元参，两剂而愈。（《新都医案》）
治耳虚鸣
麝香少许 全蝎十四个 薄荷十四叶（裹麝、蝎，瓦上焙干）
研末，滴水捏作锭子塞耳内，极效。一用巴豆、菖蒲同研，松脂、黄占和条，纳耳中抽
之，神效。（《纲目》）
耳忽大痛（如虫走，或流血或干痛）
蛇蜕烧灰，吹入立止。秘方也。（《医书摘要》）
千金不换停耳丹（耳脓不干）
水龙骨一钱 硼砂五分
为末吹入耳门，上用绵塞之，二服断除。（《秘方汇纂》）
百虫入耳
胆矾和醋，灌入即出。 鳝头烧研，绵裹塞之亦出。（李时珍方）
壁虱入耳
稻秆灰煎汁，灌入即死，垂水而去。（江湖纪闻）

耳聋
取一粒带有三个斑点的巴豆（不去油），加入麝香和冰片共同处理；用葱汁和蜂蜜制成丸子，大小如麦粒，用棉絮包裹后塞入耳道口；三天之后会有黄水流出，此时不痛不痒，不必担忧；如果此方没有疗效，罚做世间的马和牛。
另法：使用三块上好的新铁片咬在口中，用好瓷石塞住双耳静坐，耳朵忽然鸣响并通畅。有顷刻间就通畅的，也有坐了几日后才通畅的。（出自《秘方集验》）
蜗牛膏（用于滴治耳聋闭塞）
蜗牛一两，石胆、钟乳粉各二钱半。将药材盛放在瓮盒中，用火煅烧至通红，加入一字量的片脑（冰片），每次用油调和一字量滴入耳中。
耳后锐毒（属于危重病症，应当紧急治疗，男女小儿均有效）
大天南星（保留丙火之性，即炮制存性）研为细末，用醋调和涂抹，三次即可痊愈。
另法：使用大黄一两，青木香三钱，姜黄、槟榔各三钱，共研为细末，用蜂蜜调和贴敷，中间留一个孔，有效。

Deafness
Take one bean-sized seed of Croton tiglium (Mahuang, 麻黄 - *Note: Context implies Ba Dou/Croton seed due to "one bean" and toxicity warning, but literal translation of source term if ambiguous. However, standard TCM for this formula uses Ba Dou. The text says "Yi Dou San Ban", referring to Ba Dou/Croton Seed which has spots. I will use Crotonis Fructus (Ba Dou)* with three spots, without removing the oil; add Moschus (She Xiang) and Borneolum Syntheticum (Bing Pian) together; form pills with scallion juice and honey, size of wheat grains; wrap in cotton wadding and leave inserted at the ear opening; after three days, yellow fluid will discharge, causing no pain or itching, so there is no need to worry; if this prescription fails, one is punished by becoming a horse or ox in the human realm.
Another method: Bite three pieces of high-quality new iron sheet inside the mouth, plug both ears with good porcelain stone, and sit quietly. The ears will suddenly ring and become patent. Some become patent instantly, while others take several days of sitting. (From *Mi Fang Ji Yan*)
Snail Ointment (for dripping into deafness obstruction)
Helix pomatia (Wo Niu), 1 liang; Chalcocitum (Shi Dan) and Stalactitum (Zhong Ru Fen), each 2 qian 5 fen. Place the powder in an urn box, calcine over fire until red-hot, add 1 zi amount of Borneolum Syntheticum (Pian Nao). Each time, mix 1 zi amount with oil and drip into the ear.
Acute Toxicity Behind the Ear (a critical condition requiring urgent treatment; effective for men, women, and children)
Pinelliae Rhizoma Praeparatum (Da Tian Nan Xing) [prepared to retain its nature], ground into powder, applied with vinegar; cured after three applications.
Another method: Rhizoma Curcumae Longae (Da Huang - *Note: Text says Da Huang, usually Rhizoma et Radix Rhei*, 1 liang), Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum (Qing Mu Xiang - *Text says Qing Mo Xiang, likely Qing Mu Xiang*), 3 qian; Rhizoma Curcumae Longae (Jiang Huang) and Arecae Semen (Bing Lang), each 3 qian. Grind all into powder, mix with honey for topical application, leaving a hole in the center; effective.
In the past, a person developed a boil behind the right ear with swelling, pain, chills, and fever. Sheng Sheng Zi used Flos Lonicerae Japonicae (Jin Yin Hua), Cauda Angelicae Sinensis (Gui Wei), Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Chi Shao), Flos Lonicerae (Lian Qiao), Bombyx Batryticatus (Jiang Can), Fructus Arctii (Niu Bang Zi), and Radix Scrophulariae (Yuan Shen); cured after two doses. Treatment for Deficient Tinnitus in the Ear
Moschus (She Xiang), a small amount; Scorpio (Quan Xie), 14 units; Folium Menthae Haplocalycis (Bo He), 14 leaves (wrap Moschus and Scorpio, dry-roast on a tile).
Grind into powder, add water dropwise to form pellets, insert into the ear; extremely effective.
Another method: Crotonis Fructus (Ba Dou) and Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii (Chang Pu) ground together, mixed with Pinus Resin (Song Zhi) and Yellow Beeswax (Huang Zhan) to form strips, inserted into the ear and withdrawn; miraculous effect. (From *Ben Cao Gang Mu*)
Sudden Severe Ear Pain (sensation like insects crawling, or bleeding or dry pain)
Ophichthys Skin (She Tui) burnt to ash, blown into the ear to stop pain immediately. This is a secret recipe. (From *Yi Shu Zhai Yao*)
Thousand-Gold Unexchangeable Ear-Stop Pill (for non-healing otorrhea)
Polyporus (Shui Long Gu), 1 qian; Borax (Peng Sha), 5 fen.
Grind into powder and blow into the ear canal, plug with cotton above; two doses will eradicate it. (From *Mi Fang Hui Zuan*)
Insects Entering the Ear
Alumen (Dan Fan) mixed with vinegar, poured into the ear causes them to exit.
Head of Eel (Shan Tou) burnt and ground, wrapped in cotton and inserted into the ear also causes them to exit. (Li Shizhen's Prescription)
Ticks Entering the Ear
Decoction of rice straw ash juice, poured into the ear kills them, and they fall out dripping water. (From *Jiang Hu Ji Wen*)
Ear Bi Syndrome
