Rhizoma Rhei (Dahuang) 4 liang, Natrii Sulfas (Mangxiao) 3 he, Cortex Moutan (Danpi), Semen Persicae (Taoren) 50 seeds, Semen Cucurbitae (Gua Zi) half sheng (likely Semen Citrulli/Dian Gua Zi).
Take the above five herbs, add six sheng of water, decoct to obtain one sheng of liquid, remove the dregs, add Natrii Sulfas (Mangxiao), boil again until boiling, and take in one dose. If pus is present, it should be discharged; if no pus, blood stasis should be discharged.
In the previous chapter of *Jin Gui Yao Lue* (Essential Prescriptions from the Golden Cabinet), Fuzi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata) was used. Later scholars forcibly attributed Intestinal Abscess of the Small Intestine (Xiaochang Yong) to cold accumulation. This prescription uses Rhizoma Rhei (Dahuang) and Natrii Sulfas (Mangxiao), and wrongly attributes Intestinal Abscess of the Large Intestine (Dachang Yong) to heat accumulation. This contradicts the physiological nature of Lung Qi (Fei Qi). Natrii Sulfas (Mangxiao) opens blockages and promotes downward purgation; this is the principle.
Fructus Aurantii Immaturus (Zhishi) 16 pieces, Radix Paeoniae Rubra (Shaoyao) 6 fen, Radix Platycodi (Jiegeng) 2 fen.
Pulverize the above three herbs into a powder. Take one egg yolk. Mix an equal amount of the herb powder with the egg yolk, knead until well combined, and take with warm water. Administer once daily.
Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gancao) 2 liang, Radix Platycodi (Jiegeng) 3 liang, Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (Shengjiang) 1 liang, Fructus Jujubae (Dazao) 10 pieces.
Take the above four herbs, add three sheng of water, decoct to obtain one sheng of liquid. Take five he as a warm dose, twice daily.
"Pai" (Discharge) means to expel. "Nong" (Pus) is transformed from flesh and blood. In the preceding formula, Zhishi (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus) and Shaoyao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra) are assisted by Jiegeng (Radix Platycodi) to directly vent qi and break blood stasis through the Large Intestine, expelling pus. The latter... self...
Seven fresh Calabash Gourd Pedicels (Qie Di), Fresh Polygonum Multiflorum Radix (Heshouwu) (equal parts according to severity).
Add two zhong of water, decoct to eight fen. One dose discharges pus; a second dose promotes wound healing.
Duikou Boil (Opposite-Neck Furuncle) occurs at the empty space of the Yamen acupoint, caused either by upward congestion of damp-toxin or by hyperactive fire due to Kidney deficiency. Patients often suffer from ulceration that fails to heal, or rot spreading around the neck, even... He...
Radix Angelicae Dahuricae (Baizhi) 1 qian, Radix Saposhnikoviae (Fangfeng) 7 fen, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae (Chenpi) 1.5 qian, Spina Gleditsiae Sinensis (Zaojiaoci) 5 fen, Squama Manis (Chuanshanjia) 3 slices (sliced, stir-fried with Concha Meretrix/Clausi), Radix Bletillae (Tubeimu) 1 qian, Flos Lonicerae Japonicae (Yinhua) 3 qian.
Decoct with half wine and half water for dozens of boils, and take immediately.
Surgical prescriptions are numerous and complex, originally lacking profound meaning, making them difficult to categorize. Here, common prescriptions are selected for explanation. For example, Huoming Yin (Immortal Life Decoction) circulates Wei Qi (Defensive Qi) to reduce swelling, harmonizes Ying Blood (Nutritive Blood) to relieve pain. It is the primary prescription for...
