Another prescription: Make large pills and apply moxibustion to the lower part; this is referred to as the method when all other medicinal treatments are exhausted.
Another prescription: Take three sheng of earthworms, add five sheng of water, boil until two and a half sheng remain, and drink it all.
Another prescription: Boil peach bark until it forms a consistency like maltose syrup, wrap it in cotton, and insert it into the lower orifice (anus or vagina).
Another prescription: Take water shield (Nymphoides peltata), crush it, wrap it in cotton, and insert it into the lower orifice; change it five times a day until recovery.
Another prescription: Boak together bark of Zelkova schneideriana (Zhu pi) and Quercus variabilis (Hu pi) to obtain juice with a sticky sugar-like consistency for insertion into the lower orifice; additionally, drinking concentrated decoction of peach bark is most effective.
Another prescription: Crush fresh herb of Duchesnea indica (She mei) to extract juice, take three he, three times a day. Soak dried fruit of Prunus mume (Wu mei) in water to make it concentrated, add cliff honey, and drink frequently.
If the patient has teeth lacking luster, white tongue coating, drowsiness, confusion without awareness of pain or itch, or dysentery, urgent treatment of the lower part is required. Those who do not understand this may only attack the upper part and neglect the lower. Parasites growing in the lower part may eat away at the anus, causing rotting of the anus and exposure of the five zang organs, leading to death. The following is the treatment method.
Take egg white, mix with lacquer, stir well, return to the shell, swallow while tilting the head back; expelling parasites should lead to cure.
Another prescription: Burn horse hooves to ash, grind into fine powder, mix with lard, apply on cotton strips inserted into the lower part several times a day until cured.
Another prescription: Take fifteen Tao Ren (Semen Persicae), two sheng of vinegar, one he of salt, boil to obtain six he, and take orally.
Another prescription: Burn mugwort inside a bamboo tube to fumigate the lower part, allowing smoke to enter; mixing in a small amount of Xiong Huang (Realgar) enhances efficacy. This prescription is suitable for Xi Wen disease, hence adopting local treatment methods.
For cases of continuous bleeding from the lower orifice: Use Wu Tou (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata) 2 liang, Nu Zhen Zi (Fructus Ligustri Lucidi) and Yun Shi (Fructus Tetrastigmateae) each 1 liang, Gui Zhi (Ramulus Cinnamomi) 2 fen; refine honey to make pills the size of paulownia seeds, take 5 pills with water, three times a day.
Prescription for sudden severe pain in the lower part, feeling like bird pecking: Chi Xiao Dou (Semen Phaseoli Uradensis) and Da Dou (Semen Sojae Preparatum) each 1 sheng; crush together, store in two bags, steam until cooked, and sit alternately on them until cured.
This was originally included in miscellaneous treatments because it is caused by pathogenic factors of Shang Han (Cold Damage). There are many prescriptions for treating Shang Han, including Zhu Ma Huang Tang, Ge Gen Tang, Gui Zhi Tang, Chai Hu Tang, Qing Long Tang, Bai Hu Tang, Si Shun San, Si Ni Tang, etc., totaling over twenty prescriptions. These are essential, but herbs are hard to prepare completely, and pulse diagnosis must be clear and detailed; they are recorded in the "Da Fang" compiled separately. Here, only the first four prescriptions are listed, which are urgently needed. The Huang Gao (Yellow Ointment) and Chi San (Red Powder) are prepared in advance under the section on preventing diseases; take them as soon as symptoms appear. Shang Han (Cold Damage), Shi Xing (Seasonal Epidemic), and Wen Yi (Warm Pestilence) share the same nature but have slightly different origins. Contracting cold in winter, or exerting oneself vigorously with sweat exposed to wind and cold, manifesting in summer, is called Shang Han. If winter is not very cold, with warm air and west winds causing joint laxity and susceptibility to disease, manifesting in spring, it is called Shi Xing. If there is epidemic qi mixed with toxic pathogens spreading among people in that year, it is called Wen Bing (Warm Disease). Although diagnoses are similar, aristocratic terminology generally calls them Shang Han, while commoners call them Shi Xing. Daoist texts discuss "Five Wens" differently, but ultimately converge. However, distinctions exist such as Yang Ming disease, Shao Yin disease, Yin Du (Yin Toxin), and Yang Du (Yang Toxin). Shao Yin disease presents without fever but with abdominal fullness and dysentery, making it the most difficult to treat.
Supplementary Prescriptions
"Bi Xiao Fang": Treats Tian Xing (Epidemic Disease) in its first one or two days: Ma Huang (Herba Ephedrae) 1 da liang (remove joints), boil in 4 sheng of water, remove foam, reduce to 2 sheng, filter residue, add 1 spoonful of rice and Ci (Folium Morus) to make thin porridge. Use a 2-sheng cauldron, line bottom with sulfur, place BaDou on top, cover with more sulfur, pour strong vinegar (half sheng or more) over it. Cover tightly with a lid, seal seams with wet paper to prevent gas leakage, re-wet paper with vinegar when dry. Simmer on mild fire, keeping watch. When BaDou makes sound inside, stop when halfway done. Remove from fire, pound in mortar until fine. Add little rice vinegar and steamed dough, pound again until cool. Shape into pills the size of chicken heads. For Yin Du: take 1 pill with decoction of 49 peppercorns and 2 scallion whites in one cup of water boiled to 60%. "Sheng Hui Fang": Treats Yin Du Shang Han with cold extremities; use warming therapy. Wu Zhu Yu (Fructus Evodiae) 1 sheng, mix with wine, fill two damp silk bags, steam until extremely hot, apply to soles of feet. Stop when qi flows smoothly and warmth is even. Repeatedly verified effective.

Tian Xing toxins are not resolved without Ku Shen, vinegar, wine, and inducing sweat by covering warmly.
