In pregnancy, involuntary urination without awareness occurs due to the pressure of the full fetus; Baiwei San (White Anemone Decoction) is the primary prescription. If there is heat in the bladder (Paopang), Jia Wei Xiao Yao San (Modified Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) should be used. For deficiency of Spleen and Lung Qi, Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) with Yi Zhi Ren (Alpinia Oxyphylla Fruit) is indicated. For Yin deficiency of Liver and Kidney, Liuwei Wan (Six-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia) is prescribed. *Zunsheng* states: "The syndrome of urinary incontinence often occurs in individuals with constitutional weakness; Ji Jian Liuwei Tang (Modified Six-Ingredient Decoction) is highly effective." There was a case of a pregnant woman whose urine flowed continuously from the vaginal orifice; Qianjin Liyu Tang (Thousand-Gold Carp Decoction) added with Rougui (Cinnamon Bark) and Renshen (Ginseng) was used for treatment.
Baiwei San: Treats urinary incontinence during pregnancy where the patient is unaware.
Ingredients: Baiwei (Anemones Radix et Rhizoma), Baishao Yao (White Peony Root) (equal parts).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into powder. Take 3 qian per dose, mixed with warm wine before meals. According to *Bencao*, white Peony has tonifying properties while red Peony has purgative properties. This is because white corresponds to Metal which gathers/contracts, and red corresponds to Fire which disperses. Therefore, Red Peony is suitable in formulas for Zilin (Dysuria in Pregnancy), whereas White Peony is suitable in formulas for urinary incontinence.
Ji Jian Liuwei Tang (Modified Six-Ingredient Decoction): Treats urinary incontinence, a common syndrome in weak constitutions.
Ingredients: Shudi (Prepared Rehmannia Root, 4 qian), Danpi (Moutan Cortex, 1.5 qian), Shanyu (Cornus Officinalis Fruit, pitted), Huaishanyao (Chinese Yam, stir-fried, each 2 qian), Baiwei (Anemones Radix et Rhizoma), Baishao Yao (White Peony Root), Yizhiren (Alpinia Oxyphylla Fruit, each 1 qian).
Preparation and Administration: No specific vehicle (Yin) is required; decoct in water and take orally.

Pregnancy cough belongs to Wind-Cold invasion. The Lung governs Qi internally and controls the skin and hair externally. If the skin and pores are not dense, Cold pathogenic factors invade, causing cough. Prolonged coughing may also risk miscarriage; therefore, Ningfei Zhisou San (Calming the Lung and Stopping Cough Powder) should be used with modifications. Suju Tang (Perilla and Platycodon Decoction) is sometimes used to dispel cold and regulate the Lung. In cases of chronic cough that does not heal, it is often due to Spleen Earth deficiency failing to generate Lung Metal, leading to loose pores and repeated external pathogen invasion. Or, due to Lung deficiency failing to generate Water, leading to flaming up of Deficient Fire. The treatment method should employ Buzhong Yiqi Tang to cultivate Spleen Earth and Lung Metal, or Liuwei Wan added with Wuweizi (Schisandra Berry) to generate Kidney Water, which is preferable.
Ningfei Zhisou San: Treats Wind-Cold cough in pregnant women.

Preparation and Administration: Decoct in water and take orally. If there is phlegm, add Juhong (Aged Tangerine Peel, 0.4 fen), Zhuli (Bamboo Sap), and Jiangzhi (Ginger Juice). For Fire Cough (Heat Cough), add Huangqin (Scutellaria Root, 0.8 fen). For Deficiency Cough, add Ziwan (Asarum Root, 1 qian) and Kuandonghua (Fritillaria Flower, 0.6 fen). If Cold is severe, add Mahuang (Ephedra Stem). For Deficiency Damage, add Gualou (Trichosanthes Fruit, 1 qian), Zhuli (Bamboo Sap), and Jiangzhi (Ginger Juice). If cough is accompanied by chest discomfort, add Chuanbeimu (Fritillaria Bulb, heart removed) and Baihe (Lily Bulb, each 1 qian), and Ziwan (Asarum Root, 0.8 fen).
