The Cun pulse of both hands was fine and tight, but forceful and empty upon deep pressure. This indicates that the Foot-Taiyang Bladder channel was scorched by Mingmen Fire, reversing to create Cold-Water opacities and cold membranes covering the pupil. Another Formula

Pound in a wooden mortar into powder. Take 2 qian mixed with tea water, once after breakfast and once before bed. Treats acute red eyes. Avoid damp wheat and alcohol. Authentic Chushi (Euodiae Fructus) is required; if unavailable, use leaves, otherwise the formula is ineffective. Do not roast or use iron vessels during preparation.
I observe this formula uses Chuye (Euodiae Folium) instead of Chushi (Euodiae Fructus) because Yin and Yang must match. Fruit is Yang, leaf is Yin. Without authentic fruit, it is ineffective.
Wuxiu Chongming Wan (Five Fragrances Double Clarity Pill) (from *Baojian*): Treats eye membranes covering the pupil, dryness, and blurriness. Regular use clears and benefits the head and eyes.
Gan Juhua (Chrysanthemi Indici Flos) (first 500 flowers), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica) (500 spikes), Muzei (Equiseti Herba) (nodes removed, 500 segments), Chushi (Euodiae Fructus) (500 fruits), Chuanjiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) (split ones, 500 grains).

Grind into fine powder. Mix with refined honey to make pills the size of mung beans. Take 50 pills per dose, gradually increasing to 100 pills, taken with clear tea before bed. Often taken with Buyang Tang (Tonify Yang Decoction); take more of the former and less of this one, as this one hinders appetite and is too potent, similar to Shengyang Tang which should not be overused.
Shengyang Xieyin Wan (Raise Yang Drain Yin Pill) (also named Shengyang Chaihu Tang)
Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Gancaogen (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Dangguishen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix Body), Baishaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Shudihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata) (each 1 liang), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix) (wine-washed, stir-fried), Huangqi (Astragali Radix), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Chushi (Euodiae Fructus) (wine-stir-fried, each half liang), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Baifuling (Poria Cocos), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) (each 3 qian), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) (wine-stir-fried, 3 qian; add 1 qian in extreme heat), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) (weeds removed, 1.5 qian), Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex) (0.5 qian).
Cut into pieces. Take 5 qian per dose, decoct and take hot. Prepare another batch separately: mix with refined honey to make pills the size of tung seeds. Take with tea water far from meals, 50 pills daily, along with the previous medicine. Do not take when full. If weather is very hot, add Wuweizi (Schisandrae Fructus) 3 qian or half liang, Tianmendong (Asparagi Radix) (heart removed) half liang, and Chushi (Euodiae Fructus) add half liang.
The above three formulas treat one syndrome together. Empty stomach: Buyang Tang (Tonify Yang Decoction); Before bed: Lianbai Wan (Coptis and Phellodendron Pill); Far from meals: Shengyang Xieyin Wan (Raise Yang Drain Yin Pill).
Qianghuo Shengfeng Tang (Notopterygium Victorying Wind Decoction) (from *Yuanji Wei Lun*): Treats excessive discharge, dryness, tightness, photophobia, red veins crossing the eyeball, headache, nasal congestion, swelling, tearing, heaviness in the head, soreness in brow bones, external opacities like clouds or threads, and star-like or snail-shell shaped opacities.
Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (0.5 fen), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Folium) (each 0.4 fen), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (each 0.3 fen), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) (0.7 fen), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) (0.5 fen).
One dose, decoct in 2 bowls of water until 1 bowl remains. Strain and take hot.
The above formula is caused by unconstrained Wind-Heat. Obstructions in orifices are syndromes of Spleen-Stomach deficiency. Thus, Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) and Zhike (Aurantii Fructus) regulate Stomach Qi as Jun (Emperor). Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix) ascend and disperse as Chen (Minister). Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix) removes cold/heat, Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Folium) and Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica) clear the Upper Jiao, Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) harmonizes as Zuo (Assistant). Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) resolves heat and moves Shaoyang/Jueyin channels, Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) treats upper heat and red/swollen eyes as Shi (Envoy). It also treats post-typhoid conditions. Taking it hot utilizes the ascending nature of heat to keep the medicine in the upper body. For opacities, add herbs based on the meridian involved. Opacities moving outward from the interior: add Manjingzi (Viticis Semen) for Taiyang channel, Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) to drain Dampness from Small Intestine/Bladder. Interior: Hand/Foot Taiyang. From inner canthus to Keru point obliquely downward: use Cao Longdan (Gentianae Radix) due to bitter taste matching Gallbladder; add small amount of Renshen (Ginseng Radix) to benefit Sanjiao Qi; add Bencao (Ligustici Wallichii Rhizoma et Radix) as Taiyang Wind herb. Inner canthus/Keru point: Foot/Hand Shaoyang, Hand Taiyang. Descending from Eye System: double Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) to move Liver Qi, add Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) to drain Heart Fire.
