Sweet in taste, slightly warm in nature, non-toxic. It primarily treats dysentery with pus and blood, tonifies the middle jiao (middle energizer), repairs severe injuries and trauma, treats metal wounds (lacerations from weapons), benefits qi, prevents hunger, and delays aging.
White beeswax: Treats chronic diarrhea, tenesmus (a feeling of incomplete defecation) with discharge of white pus, repairs severe injuries, and is beneficial for children. Long-term consumption lightens the body and prevents hunger. It grows in the valleys of Wudu, produced within honeycombs or on trees.
Tao Hongjing stated: This is beeswax, born within honey, hence called "honey wax." Bees first use this as the foundation for their combs; it can also be obtained when boiling down honey. Initially, it is extremely fragrant and soft. People re-boil and refine it, or add a little vinegar or wine, turning it yellowish-red; using it for candle-making yields the best color. Currently, medical practitioners all apply white beeswax. One simply shaves it and exposes it to the summer sun for about one hundred days, and it naturally turns white. If needed urgently, it can also be melted and washed in water more than ten times, becoming white. Folk prescriptions: It is only used to compound pills for treating dysentery, whereas the *Immortal Classic* (*Xian Jing*) considers it most essential for grain avoidance (Bigu/fasting). Now, people who merely chew and consume a square-inch piece of it can go a day without hunger. The *Tang Ben Cao* annotation states: Removing the character "honey" is better, as "honey" has already been recorded under the Rock Honey section. Ministers Yuxi et al. respectfully followed the *Yao Xing Lun* stating: White beeswax, used as an envoy drug, sweet in taste, neutral in nature, non-toxic. It primarily treats pregnant women experiencing fetal restlessness resembling the size of an egg; boil until three to five boils occur, add half a jin of fine wine, and take it, and the condition will improve. It treats white hair; pluck out the white hairs, apply melted wax into the follicles, and black hair will grow back. Mix equal parts of pine resin, apricot kernels, jujube flesh, and Poria cocos, form into pills, take fifty pills after meals, and hunger will cease; its functions are numerous. It also states: It primarily treats dysentery with pus and blood.

Ge's Prescription: Treats severe recurrence after dog bites. Heat the wax over fire and pour it into the wound. Another prescription: Treats swelling and pain caused by fox urine irritation. Apply hot wax to the wound. Another smoke prescription: Passed down by Yan Situi, Bailya of Hunan: Treats headache pulling pain caused by wind-cold. Take two jin of beeswax and half a jin of salt, mix them, melt them together in a sieve, mold into a helmet shape, sized to fit the head. Place it on the head extending to the forehead, and headache stops immediately. Ji Yan Fang: Treats nyctalopia (night blindness) with divine efficacy. Yellow beeswax, amount unspecified, melt into liquid in a vessel, remove, mix with appropriate amounts of clam powder to form balls. Each time, cut off two qian with a knife, split open two liang of pig liver, insert the medicine inside, tie tightly with hemp rope. Use one bowl of water, heat together and steam the eyes. When warm, cool down and eat both the liver and medicine together, twice daily, until peace and health are restored. Yao Hezhong: Treats frostbite on children's feet; if there are sores, boil the wax thickly and apply it.
