Treats the syndrome of abdominal fullness, dry mouth and tongue, and water qi accumulation in the intestines.
Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix), Jiaomu (Semen Lepidii et Descurainiae), Tinglizi (Semen Lepidii seu Descurainiae), Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (each 1 liang), are ground into powder, made into pills the size of wu zi (seeds of Cinnamomi Fructus) with honey. Take one pill before meals with warm water, three times a day.
If symptoms persist, gradually increase the dosage.
[Appendix] Ziwan Tang: Treats the syndrome where water qi lodges in the intestines causing dry mouth and tongue, and abdominal fullness as if a bag contains water. (This is because water accumulates in the lower jiao and fails to ascend to moisten, resulting in dry mouth and tongue.) This condition is called "Yongshui" (Surging Water).
Treats symptoms resembling mania, such as aimless walking, incessant solitary talking, without chills or fever, and with a floating pulse.
Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (each 1 fen), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) (each 3 fen). Soak in one cup of wine, squeeze out the juice; use 2 jin of Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix), chop it, steam it to extract the juice, and take the medicinal juice mixed with the Rehmanniae juice. (Note: The original text layout is chaotic. Based on Fangji Dihuang Tang from *Jin Gui Yao Lue*, the four herbs are soaked in wine for juice, while Rehmanniae is steamed for juice. Characters like "Heat", "And delirium" seem to be annotations or misplaced lines. The translation follows the main formula intent.) This formula treats wind pathogen entering the blood level, causing mental confusion and manic-like symptoms.
(Wang Ang's *Yi Fang Ji Jie* records): Treats Hong Kong foot (lower limb swelling and pain disease) caused by damp-heat, characterized by swelling and pain in the feet and shins, aversion to cold with high fever.
Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), Binglang (Arecae Semen), Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix) (stir-fried with wine), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (stir-fried), Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) (salt-water stir-fried), Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) (stir-fried with wine), Gancao Shao (tip of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma).
Shire Hong Kong Foot Fangji Yin consists of Huangbai, Binglang, Mutong, Shengdihuang, Chuanxiong, Cangzhu, Baizhu, and Gancao Shao. It should be taken with rhinoceros horn powder (Xi Jiao) mixed in. (Note: There are discrepancies between the formula name and ingredients in the original text; entities are extracted as per the original).
Ganjie Tang (also known as Jiegeng Tang): Treats sore throat due to Shaoyin disease.
Sheng Gancao (Raw Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (2 liang), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix) (1 liang). Boil in 3 sheng of water until 1 sheng remains. Divide into two doses and take warm.
(Chen Shigong records): Treats Fei Yong (pulmonary abscess), characterized by coughing up turbid saliva with a foul odor, five-palm heat (heat sensation in palms, soles, and chest), chest oppression, panting, and cough.
Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Ziwan (Asternatis Radix), Chuan Beimu (Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus), Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum). Decoct in water and take.
Gancao is sweet and cool, Jiegeng is acrid. Together they form Ganjie Tang, which is a primary formula for treating sore throat. (Note: This formula treats not only Shaoyin sore throat but also sore throats caused by other factors and lung-related diseases).
