伏气病 伏气者，名肾伤寒，谓非时暴寒伏于少阴，寒气抑郁，内格阳气，始初不病，旬日乃发，上行于咽
门经会之处，寒热相搏而成。咽痛脉息微弱，后必下利，当以辛热药攻其本病，顺其阴阳，则水升火降而咽痛自
已，
用甘桔桂半汤主之。
少阴伤寒成咽痹 少阴伤寒，不传太阳，寒郁于外，阳格于内，致成咽痹，大略与伏气病相似。宜辛温甘
苦，以制其标，咽嗌自通。
上二症皆类喉痹，误用喉科寒凉之药必致不救。
疫气病 有司天运气，过亢其年，乡村染患相似者，此时气乘虚蕴蓄上焦，发作寒热，变为喉痛，谚名虾
蟆瘟，又曰鸬 瘟。此症甚恶，须用辛凉甘苦表里双解之品，切忌胆矾酸寒郁遏阳气，尤忌硝黄攻下，引邪入
里，普济消毒饮主之。岫云山人曰∶此症解毒，雄黄丸亦妙。
喉管伤寒 此症觉喉中作痒难过，切不可吃茶酒汤水，宜亟用薄荷二分，麝香一分，为末，吹入喉中。俟
其气通，约出涎水碗许，然后吃陈黄米汤半茶杯即愈。不知者竟先吃茶酒等物，便不可救。
伤寒发颐 凡伤寒汗出不彻，日久身热不解，邪结耳后一寸二三分，或耳下俱肿痛而口渴，名曰发颐。此
乃遗热成毒，宜速与消散，缓则成脓，为害不浅。方用槐花二两，微炒，使黄乘热入酒两钟，煎十余沸，去渣，
热服。未成者，二三服；已成者，一二服。胃弱者忌之。或用生忍冬藤四两，生甘草节一两，水二碗，煎减半，
入酒一碗，煎十余沸，饮之。渣敷患处。又方，柴胡、干葛、花粉、炒芩、桔梗、大力子、连翘、石膏各一钱，
甘草五分，升麻三分，水煎，不拘时服，累验。
两腮肿 细辛、草乌等分，为末入蚌粉，猪脂调敷，口噙白梅，置腮边，良久肿退，出涎，患立消。
腮 生于牙龈耳庭之后，症属肝肾阳明，用赤小豆末，以鸡子清调，加蜗牛飞面研匀，敷患处，如神。
凡下诸般肿痛，皆效。若 腮初起，觉痒于毒顶，炙六七壮，并颊车、肩井，炙三壮，甚良。
脱颏 以酒饮大醉，睡中吹皂角末于鼻内，嚏透即自上。
鼻楔 生于两鼻孔内，渐长，而下垂触之痛甚难忍，以消法、点法，随落随生。间亦不治而落，未旬日，仍
复生长，殊甚，苦楚。但用藕牙磨浓汁涂之，则蔫枯而落，后不复长，以微小无用之物，有此神效、奇功，其理
洵不可议思。
天白蚁 头响乃气挟肝火，加味逍遥散最佳。若头中如虫蛀响者，名天白蚁，用茶子为末，吹鼻中效。又天
白蚁初起必喉内生疮，鼻孔内俱烂不识治者，每认为结，毒发为喉疳，延烂及鼻内部以致久而不愈。须急用白霜
梅一个，炼存性，穿山甲五分，焙用，枯矾一钱，雄黄五分，共为细末，吹喉中，神效。此症危险，而此方简易，
验如桴鼓，妙不可言。
误吞针 用磁石研末，以黄蜡熔化如丸，和豆大吞之。针共丸药从大便出。
又法取虾蟆眼睛一只，水吞下，则针穿眼上泻出，甚是效验。
误吞铜钱金银钗环之类 只以饴糖，多多服之，久则自出。又多啮胡桃肉，即消。
伏气病：所谓伏气，名为肾伤寒，是指非时节的暴寒潜伏于少阴经，寒气郁结，内里格拒阳气，起初并不发病，经过十天左右才发作，病邪上行至咽门与经脉交会之处，寒热相互搏结而致病。症状表现为咽喉疼痛、脉象微弱，随后必然出现腹泻，应当使用辛热药物攻治其根本病因，顺应阴阳规律，则水升火降，咽喉疼痛自然痊愈，主方用甘桔桂半汤。
少阴伤寒导致咽痹：少阴伤寒，不传变至太阳经，寒邪郁结于体表，阳气格拒于体内，从而导致咽痹，大致与伏气病相似。适宜使用辛温、甘苦的药物，以制约其标症，咽喉自然通畅。
上述两种病症都类似喉痹，误用喉科常用的寒凉药物必定导致无法救治。
疫气病：遇到司天运气过亢的年份，乡村中感染患病者症状相似，此时时气乘人体虚弱蕴蓄于上焦，发作寒热，变为喉咙痛，谚语称为虾蟆瘟，又称鸬鹚瘟。此症非常凶险，必须使用辛凉、甘苦且能表里双解的药物，切忌使用胆矾等酸寒之品郁遏阳气，尤其忌讳使用硝石、大黄攻下，以免引邪入里，主方用普济消毒饮。岫云山人说：此症解毒，使用雄黄丸也极佳。
喉管伤寒：此症感觉喉咙发痒难受，千万不可喝茶、酒或汤水，宜紧急使用薄荷二分、麝香一分，研为细末，吹入喉中。等到气息通畅，大约吐出碗许涎水后，再喝半茶杯陈年黄米汤即可痊愈。不懂的人竟先喝茶酒等物，便不可救治。
伤寒发颐：凡是伤寒汗出不彻底，日久身体发热不退，邪气结聚在耳后一寸二三分处，或者耳下全部肿痛且口渴，名叫发颐。这是遗留的热毒成毒，宜迅速消散，拖延则会化脓，危害不小。方用槐花二两，微炒，加入黄酒两钟，煎煮十余沸，去渣，热服。未成脓者，服二三剂；已成脓者，服一二剂。胃弱者忌用。或用生忍冬藤四两，生甘草节一两，水二碗，煎至减半，加入酒一碗，煎十余沸，饮用。药渣敷于患处。又一方，柴胡、干葛、花粉、炒黄芩、桔梗、牛蒡子、连翘、石膏各一钱，甘草五分，升麻三分，水煎，不拘时候服用，屡试有效。
两腮肿：细辛、草乌等分，研为细末加入蚌粉，用猪脂调和敷贴，口中含白梅，置于腮边，许久后肿胀消退，流出涎水，病患立即消除。
腮（痄腮）：生于牙龈和耳庭之后，病症属于肝肾阳明经，用赤小豆末，以鸡蛋清调和，加入蜗牛飞面研匀，敷于患处，如神效一般。凡下部各种肿痛，皆有效。若腮部初起，觉得毒顶发痒，灸六七壮，并灸颊车、肩井穴，各灸三壮，效果很好。
脱颏（下颌关节脱位）：让患者饮酒大醉，睡梦中将皂角末吹入鼻内，打喷嚏通透后即可复位。
鼻楔（鼻息肉）：生于两个鼻孔内，逐渐长大，下垂触碰时疼痛难忍，用消法、点法治疗，随落随生。有时也不治疗而脱落，不到十天，又重新生长，非常严重，痛苦不堪。只用藕芽磨成浓汁涂抹，就会枯萎脱落，之后不再生长，以微小无用之物，有此神效奇功，其中的道理确实不可思议。
天白蚁（耳鸣）：头部响声是气挟肝火所致，加味逍遥散最佳。若头中像虫蛀般的响声，名叫天白蚁，用茶子研为细末，吹入鼻中有效。另外，天白蚁初起必伴有喉内生疮，鼻孔内部溃烂，不懂治疗的人，常误认为是结毒，毒发成为喉疳，蔓延烂及鼻内部，导致久治不愈。须紧急使用白霜梅一个，炼至存性，穿山甲五分，焙干使用，枯矾一钱，雄黄五分，共研为细末，吹入喉中，神效。此症危险，而此方简易，验证如桴鼓相应，妙不可言。
误吞针：用磁石研为细末，用黄蜡熔化做成如豆大的丸药，混合吞服。针连同丸药从大便排出。
又法：取一只蛤蟆眼睛，用水吞下，则针会穿过眼睛随泻出，非常有效。
误吞铜钱、金银钗环之类：只需用饴糖，大量服用，时间久了自然会排出。也可多吃胡桃肉，即可消化。
Fuqi Disease: The so-called Fuqi (latent qi disease) is named Kidney Cold Damage. It refers to sudden cold from an improper season lying latent in the Shaoyin (Lesser Yin) channel. The cold qi stagnates, internally obstructing the Yang qi. Initially, no disease occurs; after about ten days, it erupts. The pathogen ascends to the junction of the throat gate and meridians, where cold and heat contend, resulting in the disease. Symptoms include sore throat and a faint pulse, followed inevitably by diarrhea. One should use acrid-hot medicines to attack the root cause, aligning with Yin and Yang, so that Water ascends and Fire descends, and the sore throat heals itself. The principal formula is Ganjie Guiban Tang (Licorice and Scutellaria Cinnamon-Bupleurum Decoction).
Shaoyin Cold Damage leading to Yanbi (Throat Obstruction): Shaoyin Cold Damage does not transmit to the Taiyang (Greater Yang) channel. Cold stagnates externally, while Yang is obstructed internally, leading to Yanbi. This is roughly similar to Fuqi disease. It is suitable to use acrid-warm and bitter-sweet medicines to control the branch symptoms, allowing the throat to clear naturally.
Both of the above conditions resemble Houmi (Sore Throat/Obstruction). Misusing cold-cooling medicines commonly used in throat departments will inevitably lead to untreatable outcomes.
Yi Qi Disease (Epidemic Qi Disease): In years when the Si Tian (Heavenly Ruler) luck is excessively strong, villagers suffer from similar infections. At this time, seasonal pathogens accumulate in the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner) due to deficiency, causing alternating chills and fever, transforming into sore throat. Colloquially known as "Toad Plague" or "Cormorant Plague." This condition is extremely severe. One must use acrid-cool and bitter-sweet medicines that resolve both exterior and interior simultaneously. Strictly avoid Danfan (Alum) and other sour-cold substances that suppress Yang qi. Especially avoid Xiaoshi (Niter) and Dahuang (Rhubarb) for purgation, which would draw the pathogen inward. The principal formula is Puji Xiaodu Yin (Universal Benefit Detoxification Decoction). Xiuyun Shanshan said: For detoxifying this condition, Xionghuang Wan (Realgar Pill) is also excellent.
Houguan Shanghan (Throat Tube Cold Damage): This condition feels like itching and discomfort in the throat. One must absolutely not drink tea, alcohol, or soups. Urgently use 2 fen of Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) and 1 fen of Shexiang (Moschus), grind into powder, and blow into the throat. Wait until the qi flows freely, expelling approximately one bowl of saliva, then drink half a teacup of aged yellow millet soup to heal. Those who do not understand may first consume tea or alcohol, making it untreatable.
Shanghan Fayi (Cold Damage Parotitis): Whenever Cold Damage sweating is incomplete, and body heat persists for many days without resolving, evil qi knots in the area one cun two to three fen behind the ear, or causes swelling and pain under both ears accompanied by thirst. This is named Fayi. This is residual heat turning into toxicity. It should be dissipated quickly; if delayed, pus forms, causing significant harm. Formula: Use 2 liang of Huaihua (Sophorae Flos), lightly stir-fried. Add 2 zhong of Huangjiu (Yellow Wine), boil for more than ten boils, strain, and take hot. If not yet suppurated, take two to three doses; if suppurated, take one to two doses. Contraindicated for those with weak stomachs. Alternatively, use 4 liang of Sheng Rendong Teng (Lonicerae Japonicae Caulis), 1 liang of Sheng Gancao Jie (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma with nodes), 2 bowls of water, boil until reduced by half, add 1 bowl of wine, boil for more than ten boils, and drink. Apply the dregs to the affected area. Another formula: Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), Gange (Puerariae Radix), Huafen (Trichosanthis Radix), Chao Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix), Niu Bang Zi (Arctii Fructus), Lianqiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) each 1 qian; Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) 5 fen; Shengma ( Cimicifugae Rhizoma) 3 fen. Decoct in water, take at any time. Repeatedly verified effective.
Swelling of Both Cheeks: Mix Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) and Caowu (Aconiti Radix) in equal parts, grind into powder, add Bangfen (Concha Margaritiferae), and mix with Zhizhi (Porcine Fat) for topical application. Hold a white plum in the mouth, place near the cheek. After a long time, the swelling subsides, saliva is discharged, and the patient is immediately relieved.
Sa (Mumps/Glandular Swelling): Occurs behind the gums and ear庭 (auricle). The pathology belongs to the Liver, Kidney, and Yangming channels. Use Chi Xiaodou (Vigna umbellata seed) powder, mixed with egg white (Jizi Qing), plus蜗牛飞面 (Snail shell powder), ground evenly, and applied to the affected area. As effective as divine intervention. Effective for various swellings and pains below. If the swelling just begins and the top of the toxin feels itchy, moxibustion of six to seven moxa cones is recommended. Also moxibustion on Jiache (ST6) and Jianjing (GB21), three cones each. Very good.
Tuojia (Mandibular Dislocation): Intoxicate the patient heavily with wine. While sleeping, blow Zaojiao Mo (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus powder) into the nose. Once sneezing is thorough, the jaw will reduce spontaneously.
Bi Xie (Nasal Polyp): Grows inside the nostrils, gradually enlarging and drooping. Touching it causes unbearable pain. Use dissolution and cauterization methods; it falls off but grows back. Sometimes it falls off without treatment, but within ten days, it regrows severely, causing great suffering. Simply apply thick juice ground from Ouya (Lotus Root Sprout). It withers and falls off, never growing again. Such a trivial and useless object possesses such miraculous efficacy and merit; its principle is truly inconceivable.
Tianbaiyi (Tinnitus/Eardrum Noise): Head noise caused by Qi carrying Liver Fire is best treated with Jia Wei Xiao Yao San (Modified Free and Easy Wanderer Powder). If the sound in the head resembles insect burrowing, it is named Tianbaiyi. Use Chazi (Camellia Seed) powder blown into the nose for effectiveness. Furthermore, early Tianbaiyi must be accompanied by ulcers in the throat and rotting inside the nostrils. Unskilled practitioners often mistake it for condensed toxins. The toxin erupts as Hougan (Throat Chancre), spreading to the internal nose, leading to chronic non-healing. Urgently use one Baishuang Mei (White Frost Plum), calcined to retain its nature; 5 fen of Chuanshanjia (Manis Squama), baked; 1 qian of Kufan (Alumen); 5 fen of Xionghuang (Realgar). Grind all into fine powder and blow into the throat. Divine effect. This condition is dangerous, yet this formula is simple. Verification is immediate as drum-beating response. The wonder is beyond words.
Accidental Swallowing of Needles: Grind Cishi (Magnetitum) into powder. Melt Huangla (Beeswax) to form pills the size of beans. Mix and swallow. The needle and pill will pass out through the large intestine.
Another method: Take one eye of a Toad (Xama), swallow with water. The needle will pierce the eye and be excreted with diarrhea. Very effective.
Accidental Swallowing of Copper Coins, Gold/Silver Hairpins/Rings: Only use Yitang (Malt Sugar). Take in large amounts. Over time, it will pass naturally. Also, chew many Walnut meats (Hetao Rou) to aid digestion.
