Guiku (Ghost Cry) Acupoint: Treats "Gui Mei Hu Huo" disease (a condition characterized by delirium and hallucinations), manifesting as mental confusion, tremors, and jaw clenching. Bind the patient's two thumbs together tightly. Apply moxa cones at the four locations straddling the corners of the nail plates and the fleshy area behind the nails on both hands. Ignite the moxa. The patient will reportedly plead, "I am leaving myself." This reaction indicates efficacy.
Moxibustion for Sudden Death: For all cases of sudden fainting due to nightmare oppression or abrupt cessation of breath, moxibustion is applied to the medial aspect of the two big toes, approximately one leek-leaf width distal to the nail plate.
Moxibustion for Jing Gong (Essence Palace): Specifically treats nocturnal emissions. Located three cun lateral to the lower border of the 14th thoracic vertebra. Moxibustion of seven moxa cones per side is effective.
Gui Yan (Ghost Eye) Acupoint: Specifically expels "Lao Chong" (tubercle bacilli/parasites associated with consumption). Instruct the patient to raise both arms upward and rotate slightly backward. Two depressions will appear on the waist, known as Yao Yan (Waist Eyes). Mark these points with ink. Perform moxibustion on the night of Gui Hai day in the sixth lunar month during the Hai hour (9–11 PM), ensuring no one else knows. Si Hua, Gaohuang, and Feishu acupoints can also expel parasites.
Pigen (Root of Stagnation) Acupoint: Specifically treats Pi Kuai (abdominal masses/lumps). Located three and a half cun lateral to the lower border of the 13th thoracic vertebra. Moxa should be applied more frequently to the left side. If masses exist on both sides, apply moxa to both sides.
Alternative Method: Use a stalk core to measure from the patient's big toe to the midpoint of the heel, then cut the stalk. Use this length to measure from the tip of the coccyx to the end of the stalk. Mark points two leek-leaf widths lateral to this endpoint. Treat contralaterally: if the pathology is on the left, treat the right; if on the right, treat the left. Needle 0.3 cun deep, moxa seven cones. This yields miraculous results.
Another Method: Apply five to seven moxa cones at the bifurcation of the second toe. Treat contralaterally: left pathology treated on the right, right pathology treated on the left. After one night, abdominal rumbling may be felt.
Zhoujian (Elbow Tip) Acupoint: Treats Luoli (scrofula/cervical lymphadenitis). Treat contralaterally: left pathology on the right, right pathology on the left. For initial onset, males are treated on the left, females on the right. Also moxa Fengchi (GB20).
Alternative Method: Use a stalk core measured against the distance between the patient's mouth corners as a standard. Break it into two segments. Measure within the wrist crease pit. The endpoints superior, inferior, medial, and lateral are the acupoints. Moxibustion here is also effective.
Moxibustion for Zhu Wu (Infectious/Contagious Diseases): Treats Shizhu (cadaveric transmission diseases), Kewu (hostile influences), and Zhong'e (sudden evil invasion). Moxa is applied three cun posterior to the nipple, left for males, right for females. Alternatively, moxa the tips of both big toes.
Moxibustion for Shan Tong Pian Zhui (Hernia Pain and Scrotal Swelling): Use a stalk core measured against the distance between the patient's mouth corners, broken into three segments to form a triangle shape. Place one apex at the center of the umbilicus, and the other two apices at the sides below the umbilicus. The tips indicate the acupoints. Treat contralaterally: left pathology on the right, right pathology on the left. If bilateral, treat both. Use moxa cones the size of millet grains, forty cones per point. Miraculous effect.
Alternative Method: Locate the midpoint of the transverse crease on the middle phalanx between the first and second toes. Treat left for males, right for females. Also treats various Qi stagnation pains, epigastric/abdominal pain, external genital swelling/hanging, and urinary difficulties.
Moxibustion for Fan Wei (Vomiting/Reversal Stomach): One cun below the nipples, or three finger-widths below the medial malleolus, slightly angled anteriorly.
Moxibustion for Chang Feng (Intestinal Wind) and Various Hemorrhoids: One cun lateral to the lower border of the 14th thoracic vertebra. Most effective for chronic cases.
Moxibustion for Zhong Man (Edema and Distension): In the webbing between the two big toes, or 1.5 cun above the second toe.
Moxibustion for Dian Feng (Vitiligo/Patches): In the hollows of the interphalangeal joints of the fingers on both sides. Any excrescences or nevi treated with moxa will respond immediately.
