Juequan (CV14) treats restlessness, discomfort in the heart, and a tendency to vomit caused by Shanghan (Cold Damage). (From Qianjin Fang) Jia Yi Jing states it treats abdominal distension and fullness, belching,烦热 (restless heat), a propensity to vomit, and obstruction of Qi in the diaphragm. Jianshi (PC5) treats restlessness and discomfort in the heart, a tendency to hiccup (Yue), and palpitations in the chest caused by heat diseases. Wenliu (EX-UE2) treats chills and fever, headache, hiccup, and epistaxis caused by Shanghan. Baihui (GV20) treats vomiting and spasms following sweating. Shangqiu (SP5) treats alternating chills and fever, and a propensity to vomit. Dazhui (GV14) treats restlessness and vomiting caused by excessive heat in Shanghan. Shenshu (BL23) treats fever and redness of the head and body, and a desire to vomit. (All from Qianjin Fang.) Laogong (PC8) treats restlessness and fullness, and a desire to vomit or hiccup caused by heat diseases. (From Jia Yi Jing.) Quze (PC3) treats rebellious Qi, vomiting, and salivation caused by Shanghan. (From Qianjin Fang.)
Biyong Fang discusses Yue (hiccup/eructation): commonly known as "e ni" (hiccups). Acupuncture treatment should seek the cause based on this definition. If Qi rises from the abdomen, strikes the throat, with rebellious Qi connected and unable to exit, or continues for dozens of sounds without being able to breathe normally, this is due to cold damaging the stomach region. The Kidney Qi is first deficient, allowing rebellious Qi to ascend to the Stomach. If it contends with healthy Qi and does not cease, it is difficult to treat and is called Yue. It is suitable to use Zhuyu Wan. Moxibustion on Zhongwan (CV12) and Guanyuan (CV4), one hundred moxa cones each. If it does not stop, moxibustion on Shenshu (BL23), one hundred moxa cones. (From Zhi Mi Fang.)
Zhongfu (LU1) treats coughing up turbid nasal discharge. (Tong Ren mentions Lung Qi.) Fukuang (ST16) treats excessive saliva, turbid foam, pus, and blood. Zhourong (ST17) treats coughing up thick purulent sputum. (Both seen in chest and hypochondriac fullness.) Shaoshang (LU11) treats abdominal fullness and spitting saliva. (Seen in malaria.) Baihui (GV20), (seen in epilepsy), treats spitting saliva. Shiguan (KI18) treats excessive saliva and vomiting of foam. (Ming Tang lower section.) Fukuang (ST16) treats lung cold cough with expectoration of pus. (Seen in rebellious Qi.) Youmen (KI15), (seen in same name), treats vomiting of foam, spitting of saliva, and a preference for spitting saliva. (From Tong Ren.) Shiguan (KI18) treats stiffness and immobility of the spine, and excessive saliva. Riyue (LR24) treats excessive saliva. (Seen in sorrow and depression.) Tianjing (SJ10) treats pain in the heart and chest, cough with upward rushing Qi, expectoration of pus, and lack of appetite. Zigong (RN22) treats hematemesis and saliva that is sticky like white glue. (From Ming Tang.) Quze (PC3) treats rebellious Qi, vomiting, and salivation caused by Shanghan. (From Qianjin Fang.)
Famous physician Jia recorded: "Ji" (accumulation) mainly corresponds to Zang organ diseases; "Ju" (gathering) mainly corresponds to Fu organ diseases. "Ji" refers to food accumulation that fails to digest; "Ju" refers to latent phlegm that condenses and fails to transform. Phlegm latent in the upper diaphragm mainly causes dizziness and pain in the head and eyes, frequent clear saliva, or tidal fever. Treat with Pingwei San and Wujin San. This discussion is reasonable, so it is recorded.
