The Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin originates within the heart, emerges to connect with the heart system (tissues connecting the heart), descends through the diaphragm, and links with the small intestine. Its branch ascends from the heart system, flanking the pharynx, and connects with the eye system (the meridians connecting the eyeballs to the brain). The main trunk, returning from the heart system, ascends into the lung, then emerges below the axilla, follows the posterior aspect of the medial side of the upper arm, running behind the Lung Meridian of Hand-Taiyin and Pericardium Meridian of Hand-Jueyin, descends to the inner elbow (where Shaohai [Ch8] is located), continues along the posterior aspect of the medial forearm (where Lingdao [HT4] is located), reaches the end of the ulnar styloid process at the wrist (where Shenmen [HT7] is located), enters the posterior aspect of the palm (where Shaofu [HT8] is located), follows the medial side of the little finger to its tip (where Shaochong [HT9] is located; here the qi and blood transfer to the Small Intestine Meridian of Hand-Taiyang).
When this meridian is affected, symptoms include dryness of the throat, heart pain, thirst with desire to drink, a condition known as "Arm Jue" (Arm Reversal). This meridian governs diseases generated by the Heart, such as yellowing of the eyes, hypochondriac pain, pain in the posterior medial aspect of the arm, coldness/numbness of the arm, and heat in the palm. If the Cun Kou pulse is twice as large as the Ren Ying pulse, it indicates excess; if the Cun Kou pulse is smaller than the Ren Ying pulse, it indicates deficiency. (From *Ling Shu*) ○ At Wu hour (11:00–13:00), qi and blood transfer from the Dabao point to Ji Quan [HT1], travel along the arm, and stop at Shaochong [HT9] at the tip of the little finger. (From *Ru Men*)
Shaochong [HT9]: Two points, also named Jing Shi, located on the radial (medial) corner of the nail of the little finger, approximately the width of a leek leaf. It is the Jing-Well point of the Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin, where the meridian qi exits. Needle depth: 1 fen; Moxibustion: 2 cones. (From *Tong Ren*)
Shaofu [HT8]: Two points, located in the depression distal to the metacarpophalangeal joint of the little finger, directly opposite Laogong [PC8]. It is the Ying-Spring point of the Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin, where the meridian qi flows. Needle depth: 2 fen; Moxibustion: 5 cones. (From *Tong Ren*)
Shenmen [HT7]: Two points, also named Rui Chong or Zhong Du, located in the depression of the pulsating artery at the end of the ulnar styloid process at the wrist. It is the Shu-Stream point of the Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin, where the meridian qi pours in. Needle depth: 3 fen; retain for seven breaths; Moxibustion: 7 cones. (From *Tong Ren*) ○ *Nei Jing* states that the heart is solid, so pathogenic factors cannot easily invade it; therefore, the Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin alone lacks an Yuan-Source point. For external meridian disorders without internal organ involvement, one should only select the Shu-Stream point at the end of the ulnar styloid process, which is Shenmen [HT7]. (From *Gang Mu*)
Yin Xi [HT6]: Two points, located in the pulsating artery 1.5 cun proximal to the transverse crease of the wrist. (From *Tong Ren*) ○ Located in the pulsating artery 0.5 cun proximal to the wrist crease, it is the Xi-Cleft point of the Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin. Needle depth: 3 fen; Moxibustion: 7 cones. (From *Ru Men*)
Tong Li [HT5]: Two points, located 1 cun proximal to the wrist crease. It is the Luo-Connecting point of the Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin, diverging to connect with the Small Intestine Meridian of Hand-Taiyang. Needle depth: 3 fen; Moxibustion: 3 cones. (From *Tong Ren*)
Ling Dao [HT4]: Two points, located 1.5 cun proximal to the wrist crease. It is the Jing-River point of the Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin, where the meridian qi travels. Needle depth: 3 fen; Moxibustion: 3 cones. (From *Tong Ren*)
Shao Hai [Ch8]: Two points, also named Qu Zhe, located in the depression posterior to the medial epicondyle of the humerus. (From *Tong Ren*) ○ Located 0.5 cun lateral to the tip of the medial epicondyle. (From *Gang Mu*) ○ Located in the depression posterior to the medial elbow joint, where the arterial pulse is palpable; flex the elbow to locate. (From *Zi Sheng*) ○ Located in the depression at the end of the transverse cubital crease on the medial side; flex the elbow towards the head to locate. (From *Ru Men*) ○ It is the He-Sea point of the Heart Meridian of Hand-Shaoyin, where the meridian qi enters. Needle depth: 3 fen; Moxibustion: 3 cones. (From *Tong Ren*)
Qing Ling [HT3]: Two points, located 3 cun superior to the elbow crease; locate with the arm extended and raised. Moxibustion: 7 cones; needling is prohibited. (From *Tong Ren*)
Ji Quan [HT1]: Two points, located between the tendons in the axilla, deep in the pulsating artery entering the chest. Needle depth: 3 fen; Moxibustion: 7 cones. (From *Tong Ren*)
