There are twenty-eight acupoints in total.
**Changqiang (GV1)** is located at the end of the spinal column; take it with the patient prone. It indicates: stiffness and spasm of the lumbar and dorsal spine, inability to bend or extend; mania; difficulty in urination and defecation; intestinal wind bleeding; five types of hemorrhoids; five types of strangury; gangrene and erosion of the lower part; severe diarrhea; seminal emission; hematemesis; sunken fontanelle in infants; convulsions and epilepsy; spasms; rectal prolapse; bloody stool. This acupoint is the root for treating the five types of hemorrhoids. ○ An empirical prescription: For "summer wasting" (chronic weakness in summer) causing emaciation in youths, moxibustion on this point is most effective. ○ For dysentery with red and white discharge, moxa cones totaling one hundred applications are burned on the tip of the coccyx; more is better. Also for leakage, five types of hemorrhoids, and parasitic worms eroding the lower region, needle 0.3 cun, take with the patient prone, using intense pain as the threshold; moxibustion is also good, thirty applications daily for seven days, but efficacy is inferior to needling. Also, burning seven applications on the tailbone vertebra is divine for treating rectal prolapse. *Qianjin Fang* calls it Guizhi (Turtle Tail), which is Qionggu (End Bone). *Qianjin Yifang* records: Moxibustion combined with Chengshan (BL58) is best for hemorrhoids (*Yulong Fu*). Needling Dazhu (BL11) treats Qi pain of the small intestine. It is also said: For pediatric rectal prolapse of long duration, first moxa Baihui (GV20), then Changqiang (*Xi Hong Fu*). Combined with Baihui (GV20) specifically treats rectal prolapse. It is also said: Needling Changqiang and Chengshan (BL58) effectively treats newly onset intestinal wind bleeding (*Baizheng Fu*). Baihui (GV20) and Guizhi (Changqiang) treat dysentery (*Lingguang Fu*). Combined with Dadun (LR1) treats hernia of the small intestine (*Tianxing Mijue*).
**Yaoshu (GV2)** is in the interspace below the twenty-first thoracic vertebra, in the depression. Needle 0.2 cun, retain for seven breaths, moxa five applications. One day may needle 0.5 cun, moxa forty-nine applications. It indicates: heaviness and pain of the lumbar and dorsal spine, inability to bend or extend or move; cold bi syndrome from the waist down to the feet with numbness; stiffness and spasm, inability to sit or lie down. Moxibustion applications should correspond to the patient's age. Warm malaria with no sweat; amenorrhea in women; dark urine. After moxibustion, abstain from sexual intercourse and strenuous labor. ○ For sudden lumbar pain, moxa seven applications one inch above the end of the coccyx to stop pain (*Qianjin Fang* says).
