问曰∶人之患血翳遮两睛者何也？答曰∶皆因心经发热，肝脏虚劳，受邪热，致令眼中
赤涩，肿痛泪出，渐有赤脉通睛，常时举发，久则发筋结浓，遮满乌睛，如赤肉之相，故名
曰血翳包睛。宜服泻心汤，次以修肝活血汤。

泻心汤
黄连 黄芩 大黄 连翘 荆芥 赤芍药 车前子 薄荷 菊花（各一两）
上 咀。每服四五钱，水煎温服。
修肝活血汤
当归 生地黄 赤芍（各两半） 川芎 羌活（各七钱） 黄 防风 黄连 大黄 薄荷 连
翘菊花 白蒺藜（各一两）
上每服四五钱，水煎，入酒二盏，温服。

当归龙胆汤
防风 石膏 柴胡 羌活 五味子 升麻 甘草 黄连（酒洗） 黄芩（酒洗） 黄 黄
柏（酒洗） 当归 龙胆草 赤芍药（各五钱）
上 咀。每服五钱，水煎至二碗，去渣，入酒少许，临卧热服，忌言语。
破血红花散
当归梢 川芎 赤芍药 枳壳 苏叶 连翘 黄连 黄 栀子 大黄 苏木 红花
白芷 薄荷 升麻
上各等分。水煎，加酒三盏，温服。
问：人患血翳遮蔽双眼的原因是什么？答：都是因为心经发热，肝脏虚劳，受到邪热侵袭，导致眼中赤痛干涩，肿痛流泪，逐渐有赤脉贯通眼球，时常发作，日久则生筋结脓液，遮蔽黑睛（瞳孔及虹膜区域），如同赤肉一般，所以名叫血翳包睛。适宜服用泻心汤，随后服用修肝活血汤。

黄连、黄芩、大黄、连翘、荆芥、赤芍药、车前子、薄荷、菊花（各一两）
以上药材切碎。每次服用四五钱，用水煎煮，温服。
修肝活血汤
当归、生地黄、赤芍（各一两半）、川芎、羌活（各七钱）、黄芪、防风、黄连、大黄、薄荷、连翘、菊花、白蒺藜（各一两）
以上药材每次服用四五钱，用水煎煮，加入酒两盏，温服。
问：血翳包睛是什么原因造成的？答：是心热血旺所致。此病初起时容易治疗，如果到了血液消散殆尽难以消除的地步，疼痛时使用破血红花散、当归龙胆汤，外用点眼清凉散。

防风、石膏、柴胡、羌活、五味子、升麻、甘草、黄连（酒洗）、黄芩（酒洗）、黄芪、黄柏（酒洗）、当归、龙胆草、赤芍药（各五钱）
以上药材切碎。每次服用五钱，用水煎至两碗，去渣，加入少许酒，睡前热服，忌说话。

当归梢、川芎、赤芍药、枳壳、苏叶、连翘、黄连、黄芪、栀子、大黄、苏木、红花、白芷、薄荷、升麻
以上药材各等分。用水煎煮，加酒三盏，温服。
Question: What is the cause of blood nebula obscuring both eyes? Answer: It is all due to heat in the Heart Meridian, deficiency and exhaustion of the Liver, and invasion by pathogenic heat. This leads to redness, dryness, pain, swelling, and tearing in the eyes. Gradually, red meridians penetrate the eyeball, with frequent recurrences. Over time, fibrous nodules and pus form, completely covering the black pupil (cornea and iris), resembling red flesh; hence it is named "Blood Nebula Enveloping the Pupil." It is appropriate to administer Xie Xin Tang (Drain the Heart Decoction), followed by Xiu Gan Huo Xue Tang (Repair the Liver and Invigorate Blood Decoction).

Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), Rheii Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Schizonepetae Herba (Jingjie), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishao), Plantaginis Semen (Cheqianzi), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe), Chrysanthemi Flos (Juhua) (each 1 liang).
The above herbs are coarsely crushed. Each dose is 4-5 qian, decocted in water and taken warm.
Xiu Gan Huo Xue Tang (Repair the Liver and Invigorate Blood Decoction)
Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Rehmanniae Radix Recens (Shengdihuang), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishao) (each 1.5 liang), Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo) (each 7 qian), Astragali Membranacei Radix (Huangqi), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Rheii Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Chrysanthemi Flos (Juhua), Tribuli Fructus (Bajili) (each 1 liang).
Each dose is 4-5 qian, decocted in water with two zhan of wine, and taken warm.
Question: What causes blood nebula enveloping the pupil? Answer: It is caused by excess heat and vigorous blood in the Heart. This disease is easy to treat in its initial stage; however, if it progresses to a point where the blood dissipates and becomes difficult to eliminate, during pain, Po Xue Hong Hua San (Break Blood and Safflower Powder), Danggui Longdan Tang (Angelica and Gentian Decoction), and Qingliang San (Cooling Clearing Powder) for topical application should be used.
Danggui Longdan Tang (Angelica and Gentian Decoction)
Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao), Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus (Wuweizi), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, washed with wine), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, washed with wine), Astragali Membranacei Radix (Huangqi), Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex (Huangbai, washed with wine), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix (Longdancao), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishao) (each 5 qian).
The above herbs are coarsely crushed. Each dose is 5 qian, decocted in water until two wan remain, strained, with a small amount of wine added, and taken hot before sleep. Speech should be avoided.

Angelicae Sinensis Radix Caudex (Danggui Shao), Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishao), Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhiqiao), Perillae Folium (Suye), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao), Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Astragali Membranacei Radix (Huangqi), Gardeniae Jasminoidis Fructus (Zhizi), Rheii Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang), Sappan Lignum (Sumu), Carthami Flos (Honghua), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), Menthae Haplocalycis Herba (Bohe), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma).
All herbs are in equal proportions. Decoct in water with three zhan of wine and take warm.
