There are three types of poisoned arrows. In the Yi regions of Jiaozhou and Guangzhou, arrowheads are made from scorched copper. In areas north of the Lingnan mountains, the juice obtained after snakes bite various objects is placed in tubes to soak the arrowheads. For these two types, if injured, drinking fecal juice and applying it externally can also cure the wound, with this method being considered the most effective. Another type uses She Wang (a toxic plant extract) applied to the arrowhead; if struck by such an arrow, one will also be in distress. If not hit in a vital area, death may be avoided, but if near the abdomen, urgent treatment is required. The Fang of Ge Shi mentioned today refers to the use of She Wang. (Zhen Lei Ben Cao, Vol. 15)
