542. Foreign bodies such as copper, iron, bamboo, or wood penetrating the flesh: Although the foreign body has been removed, the wound remains swollen and ulcerated without healing. Formula: Crush green onion bulbs and white sugar until fused, then apply to the affected area. Extremely effective.

543. Mercury penetrating the flesh: Grind genuine Sichuan pepper (Zanthoxyllum) into powder, mix with raw egg white, apply to the site, wrap tightly with cloth, and leave overnight for the mercury to be expelled.

544. Iron needle penetrating the flesh: An iron needle entering the flesh and wandering with Qi circulation is a dangerous condition. Emergency treatment: Roast several crow feathers on a tile until charred yellow, grind into fine powder, mix with wine, and take one qian (approx. 3-5g). Externally: Mix grease from cartwheel axles with true magnetite powder, spread on paper like a coin size, and apply to the site; the needle will self-extrude.

545. Injury from assault complicated by wind pathogen: For wounds from fighting where broken skin re-exposes the sore to wind pathogens. Formula: Jingjie (Schizonepeta), yellow beeswax, and stir-fried fish bladder (each 5 qian), plus 3 pieces of mugwort leaves. Boil in one bowl of pure wine until equivalent to burning one incense stick. Drink hot. Sweating leads to immediate recovery. Avoid chicken meat within 100 days.

546. Alcohol disease: In chronic drinkers, alcohol toxicity manifests as headache, dizziness, throat tightness, or profuse watery diarrhea dozens of times daily, with physical and mental exhaustion. Misdiagnosing this as Yin-cold and using warming agents is incorrect. Recommended: Chenpi (Tangerine Peel, 5 qian), Gancao (Licorice, 2 qian), Huanglian (Coptis, 3 qian). Lightly stir-fry these three, grind to powder, add 1 liang of pine pollen, and mix well. Take 2 qian per dose, morning and evening with warm water. Recovery in two days.

547. Alcohol intoxication/coma: For fatal alcohol intoxication (coma), urgently use 4 qian of Camphor tree seeds, boil in three cups of wine, cool to warm temperature, and administer. The patient will wake immediately. Alternatively, decoct 2 liang of Camphor wood in water and drink. This is a celestial prescription, proven miraculous.

548. Excellent formula for treating Scabies: Mingfan (Alum, 5 fen), Liuhuang (Sulfur, 5 fen), Bingpian (Borneol, 5 fen), Ercha (Catechu, 2 qian), Sanxiandan (Three Immortals Pill, 3 qian). Mix with Castor oil and apply. Internally, Cang'erzi Gao (Xanthium Paste) is very effective. Tufuling (Smilax Glabra) tea is also excellent.

549. Burns and scalds with ulceration: Shenzhi San (Divine Healing Powder): Burn pig hair to ash, mix with a small amount of raw Dahuang (Rhubarb) powder, blend with sesame oil, and apply. Extremely effective.

552. Summer-dampness diarrhea/dysentery: Ouyang Xiu suffered acute diarrhea that imperial physicians could not cure. His wife bought medicine for three wen, which cured him after one dose. The formula was Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed) 5 qian ground to powder, taken with rice water. This herb promotes urination.

553. Chronic cough due to Lung Heat: A woman with chronic Lung heat cough, body feeling like roasting, emaciation approaching consumptive disease. Formula: Pipaye (Loquat Leaf), Kuandonghua (Farfara Flower), Ziwan (Aster Root), Xingren (Apricot Seed), Sangbaipi (Mulberry Root Bark), Mutong (Akebia Stem) in equal parts, plus Dahuang (Rhubarb) 5 qian. Grind to powder, make pills size of peach pits with honey. Dissolve one pill after meals and before sleep. Cured before finishing one course.

554. Regurgitation (Vomiting undigested food): A family with three generations suffering from regurgitation found a formula. Eat persimmon cakes with dry rice daily. Drinking water subsequently cured it.

555. Hiccups: A woman suffered postpartum hiccups and agitation. Boil one persimmon cake, drink the juice hot, and recovered. Charred Dou Dou (Bean) is even more effective than persimmon.

Formula: Haitongpi (Erythrochiton), Yiyiren (Coix Seed) each 3 liang; Xiongqiong (Ligusticum), Qianghuo (Notopterygium), Digupi (Lycium Bark), Wujia Pi (Acanthopanax) each 2 liang; Gancao (Licorice) 5 qian; Shengdi (Rehmannia) 10 liang. Soak and steam in 2 dou of wine for regular consumption. Do not change dosage. Drink once at morning, noon, and night. Continue until slightly intoxicated and wine finished; disease cures. This formula dispels wind, removes dampness, invigorates blood, unblocks collaterals, and relaxes tendons effectively.

559. Long-term dysentery due to damp-toxin: A woman over forty drank excessively and ate much fish/crab, accumulating toxin in organs. Diarrhea 20-30 times day/night with pus and stool. Severe pain in large intestine and anus. Hemostatic dysentery medicines ineffective. Changfeng (Wind in Intestines) medicines worsened it, as Changfeng involves blood but no pus. Hot medicines increased abdominal pain and bleeding. Cold medicines caused loose stools and reduced appetite. Warm-neutral medicines had no effect. After waiting a year for death, she took Dangshen (Codonopsis) 4 liang and Chunbai Pi (Toona Bark) 1 liang, ground to powder, taken on empty stomach with warm wine or rice water. Cured after one dose.

560. Eyes open unable to close: A woman fell ill after great fright; after recovery, her eyes remained open. Qian Yi said: Eye meridians connect internally to Liver and Gallbladder. Fright causes Qi stagnation and Gallbladder Qi rising uncontrollably. Yuli (Prunus japonica) moistens and can dissipate nodules; entering Gallbladder with wine, it dissolves the knot, Gallbladder Qi descends, and eyes close.

561. Constipation and hard abdomen: Wang Shanfu suffered constipation, abdomen hard as stone, legs cracking and oozing fluid, unable to eat/drink. Diuretics for fullness ineffective. Li Gao said: This is due to excessive nourishment, accumulation of heat from rich foods damaging Kidney Water, causing Bladder dryness, inability to transform urine, and Fire counterflow causing vomiting/hiccups. As Nan Jing states: "Obstruction prevents urination, blocking causes vomiting." As Nei Jing states: "Without Yin, Yang cannot transform." Prescribed Zishen Wan: Huangbo (Phellodendron) and Zhimu (Anemarrhena) each 1 liang, washed in wine, roasted, ground; Gui (Cinnamon) 1 qian as guide. Take 200 pills per dose. Soon, anterior orifice felt like knife刺/burning, urine flowed out onto bed, swelling subsided.

562. Edema: Xiaoshui Shengyu Tang (Water-Dissolving Holy Perfection Decoction) is the first formula for edema, but only applicable if both hands pulse are floating and slow, and foot Yangming pulse is floating and rapid. Diagnosis must be precise. One dose shows effect, five doses cure completely. Otherwise, do not lightly use this secret formula. Great Dao is impartial; formulas should not be secret. However, emperors have hidden archives, and Chang Sang had warnings against leaking secrets. Fear of trial error and leaking heaven-earth mechanisms. I release this formula awaiting those who understand one corner. Not claiming one formula rules all diseases. Tianxiong (Aconite lateral root) 1 qian, Muguai (Cassia bark) 2 qian peeled, Xixin (Asarum) 1 qian, Mahuang (Ephedra) 1.5 qian, Zhigancao (Prepared Licorice) 1 qian, Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) 2 qian, Dazao (Jujube) 3 pieces, Zhimu (Anemarrhena) 2 qian. Boil 2 cups water, first decoct Mahuang to remove foam, then add other herbs, cook to 80%. Take three doses day/night. Sweating like insects crawling under skin indicates cure.

563. Obstruction of both urination and defecation: A person with history of excess alcohol and sex suffered obstruction of both excretions, distension, pain, groaning for seven days/nights. Purging medicines ineffective. Li Shizhen said: This is damp-heat pathogen in the spermatic channel, blocking tunnels, disease located between the two yin openings. Thus anterior blocks urine, posterior blocks stool. Disease is not in Large Intestine or Bladder. Use Zhishi (Immature Bitter Orange), Huixiang (Fennel), Chuanshanjia (Pangolin Scales), and double dose of Qianniu (Morning Glory Seed). Decoct and take. Three doses led to peace/recovery.

564. Intestinal obstruction: A woman with intestinal obstruction, over sixty years old. Blood-nourishing/moistening medicines caused stagnation; Xiaohei (Mirabilite/Rhubarb) medicines caused unconsciousness. For thirty years, she was obese, ate rich food, had much depression, and spat sour phlegm daily for relief. This is Sanjiao Qi stagnation, ascending without descending, fluids transformed into phlegm unable to moisten organs internally, not blood dryness. Moistening agents stay stagnant; Xiaohei enters blood not Qi, hence ineffective. Use Qianniu powder made into pills with Zaojiao Gao (Tamarind Paste). Taken, bowel movement通畅 follows.

565. Umbilical/abdominal damp-sores: A woman had damp sores all over umbilicus, abdomen, and genitalia, hot, itching, painful, oozing yellow fluid, difficult urination/defecation. Applied Man Yu (Eel) and Huangdan (Lead Monoxide); heat/pain worsened. She loved alcohol and fish/shrimp (wind-inducing foods). Used Machixian (Purslane) 4 liang, crushed, mixed with Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) 1 liang, applied. Heat/pain gone. Continued Bazheng San (Eight Corrective Powder) and cured. This is wind-heat accumulation in middle/lower Jiao. If toxin not expelled, it becomes Changfeng (Intestinal Wind) or internal hemorrhoids. Woman could not abstain from alcohol/fish, indeed hemorrhoids recurred.

566. Blood Jue (Syncope due to Blood deficiency): Women's Blood Jue due to excessive sweating, blood deficiency, Yang Qi rising alone, cold Qi failing to circulate leading to syncope. Many such cases. Use Baiwei (Cynanchum Atratum), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis) each 1 qian; Renshen (Ginseng) 5 fen; Gancao (Licorice) 2 fen. Decoct and take.

567. Changfeng Bloody Dysentery: Shizhai Formula: Pingwei San (Calm the Stomach Powder) 1 liang, Chuanxuduan (Dipsacus) 2.5 qian, taken with rice water. Another formula: Diyü (Sanguisorba), Yinhua (Honeysuckle Flower), Qin Jiao (Gentiana Macrophylla) in equal parts, decoct and take.

568. Limb paralysis: A person with limb paralysis for decades met a Silla monk who taught Wei Ling Xian (Akebia Stem) alone. Crush to powder, decoct in wine/water, take. Recovered.

569. Consumptive Malaria: Zhang Zhige suffered long-term malaria, fever like fire, emaciated after a year. Physicians used hot medicines worsening it. Lin prescribed Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) for two doses, recovered suddenly. This is named Consumptive Malaria. Heat emerges from marrow; adding harsh/hot medicines further depletes Qi/Blood. Heat in marrow requires Yin Chai Hu (Cystosembra Root). Hence effectiveness.

570. Regurgitation and Vomiting: A shoemaker suffered severe regurgitation/vomiting, even vomiting feces. I used Mahuan Wan (Hemp Seed Pill) plus Jiujun (Wine-processed Rhubarb) 5 qian, followed by Xiexin Tang (Drain Heart Decoction) modified: Huanglian (Coptis), Huangqin (Scutellaria), Ganjiang (Dried Ginger), Gancao (Licorice), added Huomaren (Hemp Seed). Then combined Erchen Tang (Two-Cured Decoction) with Jiangfu (Ginger/Aconite), transitioned to Baiqian (Cynanchum Stauntonii), Baibu (Stemona), Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) combined with Erchen Pingwei for conclusion.

571. Amenorrhea with Blood Clots: A woman stopped menstruation after swimming during period, formed blood clots in lower abdomen. Took breaking/stagnation-resolving medicines, life nearly ended. Later received divine instruction: Guiban (Turtle Shell), Youpi (Pomelo Peel), Jiyutou (Crucian Carp Head). Place on tile, quench six times in red wine. Roast dry, grind to powder. Mix with honey and apply. Pain on left apply right; pain on right apply left. Application caused stabbing pain, expelled half bucket of foul matter. Externally, Gongyingying (Dandelion), Zihua Diding (Viola), Mumufuruye (Hibiscus leaf), Baijian (Ampelopsis), Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica) crushed, mixed with honey, applied. Cured.

572. Verified formula for Dental Gangrene: Yagan Xian Zao San (Tooth Gangrene Amaranth Date Powder): Baixiancai Gen Tan (Charred Amaranth Root) 3 qian roasted to preserve nature; Ercha (Catechu) 2 qian; Hongzao (Jujube) wrapping Xionghuang (Realgar) calcined on fire to preserve nature 1.5 qian; Pengsha (Borax) 2 qian; Renzhongbai (Human Waste Deposit) 1 qian; Bingpian (Borneol) 2 fen. Grind extremely fine, seal in bottle for storage. When tooth gangrene causes rotting flesh/bone to fall, dip and rub occasionally. Wait for mouth full of saliva, rinse with clear water. Mild case: gum pain; severe case: teeth fall out. This medicine is miraculously effective. Recorded due to past verification.

573. Verified formula for Throat Conditions: Yangyin Qingfei Tang (Nourish Yin Clear Lung Decoction) treats all Yang-type throat conditions. Tested repeatedly. Take two doses quickly, do not delay self-harm. Dadiye (Large Rehmannia) 3 qian, Maidong (Ophiopogon) 3 qian, Yuan Shen (Scrophularia) 1.5 qian, Danpi (Moutan) 8 fen, Sheng Gancao (Raw Licorice) 5 fen, Chuanbeimu (Fritillaria) 8 fen, Bohe (Mint) 5 fen, Bai Hangshao (White Peony) 8 fen. Decoct in water. 574. Verified formula for Lu Han Malaria (Chronic Cold-type Malaria): Long-standing malaria not resolving, commonly called Lu Han. Formula: Hang Baishao (White Peony) 2 qian, Baizhu (Atractylodes) 2 qian, Danpi (Moutan) 1.5 qian, Chenpi (Tangerine Peel) 1 qian, Heshouwu (Polygonum Multiflorum) 1.5 qian, Binglang (Areca Nut) 3 qian, Changshan ( Dichroa ) 7 qian, Mutong (Akebia) 2 qian, Danggui (Angelica) 3 qian, Pao Fuzi (Prepared Aconite) 1.5 qian, Gancao (Licorice) 1 qian, Hongzao (Jujube) 4 pieces, Shengjiang (Ginger) 3 slices. Stew in old wine. Decoct one day before malaria onset. Adding Ba Doukou (Cardamom) 5 fen is better.

575. Worms in rectum: Anyone with worms in anus. Use Huaihua (Sophora Flower) 3 wen, Cangzhu (Atractylodes) 4 qian. Wash, then insert sliced raw pork liver soaked in tea oil into rectum. Worms exit. For women with vaginal worms, inserting pork liver is also effective. Chicken liver is more effective; worms exit spontaneously.

576. Bone-penetrating Heavenly Snake (Snake-head Carbuncle): Carbuncle spreading from fingertip to middle joint. Formula: Shanmu Tan (Fir Wood Char), Da Cheng Gan (Large Razor Clam) soaked in wine, roasted to ash. Mix Dahuang (Rhubarb) powder with tea oil, apply to site. Cures immediately.

578. Bamboo splinter in throat: Bamboo/wood splinters in throat differ from fish bones. Urgently use Jin Feng Hua (Golden Phoenix Flower) branch stem, crush to extract one bowl of saliva juice, drink. Splinter extracted immediately. Repeatedly tested and verified.

579. Needle prick in sole: Formula: Several raw cockroaches, several Ban Dou (Croton Seeds), crush together, apply to site. Needle self-extrudes. Effect like spirit.

582. White Turbidity: Single formula: White Sugarcane tail stewed with white ice sugar.
Ice sugar 4 liang, Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica) 4 liang, stewed and taken. Women use this medicine to steam pig trotters. (Wild monkey sugarcane root as tea substitute).
Another formula: Sheng Tianzhi (Sweet Mushroom/Red Child Herb, bought in pharmacy) stewed with ice sugar. Miraculous effect.

583. Golden Wound Knife Medicine: Experienced wonderful medicine for knife wounds. Longan seeds soaked in urine for 49 days, exposed to sky for 49 days, ground to powder. Miraculous effect.
Another formula: Longan meat, ice sugar, red dates crushed and applied to site. Stops bleeding, reduces swelling effectively. Feifeng Cao (Pollia condensata), also called Goulao Cao, chewed and applied is effective.

584. Good formula for Hemorrhoid swelling/pain: Huanglian (Coptis) powder mixed with Goose bile for application. Stops pain, reduces swelling effectively. Another formula: Mugua Zi (Momordica Seed) roasted dry, ground to powder, mixed with sesame oil or good vinegar for application. The prolapsed tissue self-retracts.

591. Heart Fistula: Heart fistula symptom: hole in front of stomach bleeding fluid. Use tender Deer Antler, Pao Fuzi (Prepared Aconite), Salted Jujube meat. Make pills size of wutong seeds. Take with rice water. Cures immediately.

592. Rat Neck (Scrofula): Someone had rat-neck lumps on shin/instep. Use grass from woman's toilet cleaning, pick up, wipe rat-neck spot three times continuously. Throw away. Self-heals. Best if no one sees.
