治咽喉肿痛，滴水不下，吹之即能消肿止痛，简便易制，而且极效。青盐一钱，白矾一
钱，硼砂一钱，元明粉一钱，共研极细末，吹之吐尽痰涎，即愈。
此方治喉痛咽哽，舌忽胀大，渐至如脬，或舌伸出不能缩入。此名霎舌，最为凶恶之症
，治之稍缓，实时气绝无救。用皂矾放新瓦上 红，取放地下候冷去火气，研细末，撬开牙
关，以指头蘸矾末擦其舌上即醒。
又方∶元明粉三分，硼砂三分，青黛二分，胆矾二分，僵蚕五分，冰片二分，共研极细
末，吹之即愈。此方治舌大如脬，并治风热牙痛。
薄荷、硼砂各一钱，人中白，川连各八分，青黛、元明粉各六分，陈胆星五分，山豆根
八分，冰片五分，共为极细末吹喉，神效。能治一切咽喉各症。
番木鳖三个、水磨浓汁、用瓷器盛之晒干刮下，再加冰片一二分，研匀吹喉，极效。
半熟大梅子一百枚，五月五日午时，用食盐、朴硝各四两，水三碗，入坛内，将梅子浸
之，其水约过梅子三指，浸过一宿后，再用猪牙皂、薄荷、白矾、硼砂、山豆根、白僵蚕、
射干根、土牛膝各二两，川黄连一两，共研细末拌入，再浸七日，取出晒干，又浸又晒，总
以汁尽为度，将药末粘敷梅上，瓦坛收存。凡用取梅一枚，用新棉包裹含入口内，有水先咽
五六口，后有痰涎吐尽，以口内无痰涎只有清水，方去梅子。最为奇效。

又一方：元明粉三分，硼砂三分，青黛二分，胆矾二分，僵蚕五分，冰片二分，共同研磨成极细粉末，吹入患处即可痊愈。此方治疗舌头肿大如膀胱，并治疗风热引起的牙痛。

Treats swelling and pain in the throat, making it difficult to swallow even a drop of water; blowing the powder into the affected area reduces swelling and relieves pain. It is simple to prepare and extremely effective. Qingyan (Green Salt) 1 qian, Baijian (Alum) 1 qian, Pengsha (Borax) 1 qian, Yuanmingfen (Mirabilite) 1 qian. Grind them together into an extremely fine powder. Blow it into the throat to expel phlegm and saliva, and the condition will be cured.
This formula treats sore throat with difficulty swallowing, sudden swelling and enlargement of the tongue, which gradually swells like a bladder, or the tongue protrudes and cannot retract. This is called "Sha She" (Sudden Tongue Swelling), a most perilous syndrome. If treatment is delayed even slightly, death from epidemic toxic qi may occur immediately. Place Zaofan (Chalcanthite) on a new tile and heat until red-hot. Take it off and place it on the ground to cool, removing its "fire energy." Grind into a fine powder. Pry open the jaw, dip a finger into the alum powder, and rub it on the surface of the tongue to restore consciousness.
Another formula: Yuanmingfen (Mirabilite) 3 fen, Pengsha (Borax) 3 fen, Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) 2 fen, Danfan (Blue Vitriol) 2 fen, Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus) 5 fen, Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum) 2 fen. Grind together into an extremely fine powder. Blow it into the throat for a cure. This formula treats tongue swelling like a bladder and also treats toothache caused by wind-heat.
Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) 1 qian, Pengsha (Borax) 1 qian, Renzhongbai (Calcinata Humanis Alis) 8 fen, Chuanlian (Coptidis Rhizoma) 8 fen, Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) 6 fen, Yuanmingfen (Mirabilite) 6 fen, Chendanxing (Arisaematis Cum Bile) 5 fen, Shandougen (Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix) 8 fen, Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum) 5 fen. Grind together into an extremely fine powder and blow into the throat. It is miraculous and can treat all kinds of throat conditions.
Fanmubie (Strychni Semen) 3 pieces. Grind with water to make a thick juice, store in a porcelain vessel, dry, and scrape down. Add Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum) 1-2 fen, grind uniformly, and blow into the throat. Extremely effective.
One hundred semi-ripe large plums. On the noon hour of the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, use Yanshi (Halitum) 4 liang, Puxiao (Natrii Sulfas) 4 liang, and three bowls of water. Place them in a jar and soak the plums. The water level should exceed the plums by about three fingers' width. After soaking overnight, add Zhuyazao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina) 2 liang, Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) 2 liang, Baijian (Alum) 2 liang, Pengsha (Borax) 2 liang, Shandougen (Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix) 2 liang, Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus) 2 liang, Shegan (Belamcandae Rhizoma) 2 liang, Tu Niuxi (Cyathulae Radix) 2 liang, and Chuanhuanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) 1 liang. Grind these into a fine powder and mix them in. Soak again for seven days, then take out and dry. Repeat the process of soaking and drying until the medicinal juice is fully absorbed. Adhere the powder to the plums and store in a clay jar. When using, take one plum, wrap it in new cotton, and hold it in the mouth. First swallow five or six mouthfuls of saliva/water, then spit out all phlegm and saliva. Only when there is no more phlegm in the mouth, only clear fluid remains, should the plum be removed. It is extraordinarily effective.
