中，两头各用砖一块，以浓竹片排铺搁于砖上，用席片盖之，仍将泥填好以便行走。至立春
时刻取起，每日以绿豆一撮，煮鸡蛋一个，令儿食之，不可间断。若根据法服三次，则终身不
出痘。稀痘方多，惟此有应。
此热极也，宜急治之，如过三日难治。用枳壳、栀子（炒）、扁柏叶（炒）、川连各三分，
黄柏二分，生甘草四分，薄荷四分，水煎、去渣，入蜜糖四茶挑和匀，以鸭毛点舌上两旁数
次，面色变淡红者可止。或用吴茱萸四钱，好醋调敷两足心，日换数次，过一夜即愈。此法
最妙。

这是热邪极盛的表现，应当紧急治疗，如果超过三天就难以治愈。使用枳壳、栀子（炒制）、扁柏叶（炒制）、川黄连各三分，黄柏二分，生甘草四分，薄荷四分，加水煎煮，去渣后加入四茶匙蜜糖调和均匀，用鸭毛蘸取药液点涂在舌头两侧数次，面色变为淡红色的就可以止住（啼哭/症状）。或者使用吴茱萸四钱，用好醋调匀敷在两足心，每天更换数次，过一夜即可痊愈。这种方法最为巧妙。
Within three days after birth, take one chicken egg and beat it into a plate. Ensure this is done in a draft-free area. Dip a finger into the egg white and massage from the Fengmen bone (the prominent bone at the back of the neck hollow) on the back of the head down to the Weilü bone (the end of the spinal column). For boys, rotate the fingers to the left; for girls, rotate to the right. Gently rub each segment of the dorsal vertebral column.
Another method for reducing smallpox severity: During pregnancy, the mother should consume raw white sesame seeds (any amount) casually while moving about. When the ten months of gestation are complete and the child is born, the infant will be free from fetal toxicity and will develop very few smallpox lesions.
Another prescription: Honeysuckle flower (Jinyinhua, 金银花) [do not use golden varieties], dried in the shade, combined with rice crust (Fan Guoba, 饭锅粑) — one tael of honeysuckle per sheng of rice crust. Another prescription: Use only olives (Ganlan, 橄榄), regardless of whether they are fresh or aged; the older, the better. Following the twenty-four solar terms of the year, roast the olives over fire until dry and grind them into powder. Take with boiling water. Consume one olive per solar term without interruption. After one year of administration, the child will never develop smallpox. If a dose is missed due to an occasional oversight, one olive must be taken in the following year to make up for the missed term.
Another prescription: On the day of Winter Solstice (Dongzhi, 冬至), dig a pit approximately one chi deep in an area where the newborn frequently walks inside the house. Bury fifteen fresh eggs in the pit. Place a brick at each end of the pit, lay dense bamboo strips across the bricks, cover with a mat, and refill the soil to allow walking. Retrieve the eggs at the time of Spring Equinox (Lichun, 立春). Each day, boil one egg with a pinch of mung beans and feed it to the child without interruption. If administered according to this method three times, the child will never develop smallpox. Although there are many prescriptions for reducing smallpox severity, only this one is effective.
This indicates extreme heat pathogen accumulation and requires urgent treatment; if delayed beyond three days, it becomes difficult to cure. Use Zhiqiao (Bitter Orange Peel, 枳壳), Zhizi (Gardenia Fruit, 栀子) [stir-fried], Bianbaiye (Biota Leaf, 扁柏叶) [stir-fried], and Chuanlian (Coptis Rhizome, 川连) each at 3 fen, Huangbai (Phellodendron Bark, 黄柏) at 2 fen, Sheng Gancao (Raw Licorice Root, 生甘草) at 4 fen, and Bohe (Mint Herb, 薄荷) at 4 fen. Decoct in water, strain, and mix in four teaspoons of honey. Apply the solution to both sides of the tongue several times using a duck feather. If the facial color turns pale red, the condition can be stopped. Alternatively, apply Wuzhuyu (Evodia Fruit, 吴茱萸) 4 qian mixed with good vinegar to the soles of both feet, changing the application several times daily. The condition will heal overnight. This method is most excellent.
