When Bian Que entered Xianyang and heard that the Qin people loved children, he became a pediatrician. This shows that the love for children has existed since ancient times. However, if this love is not exercised in the proper way, it may inadvertently cause harm, which is truly lamentable! Mr. Xiaoshan compiled the *Anmo Yaoshu* (Essential Techniques of Massage), and further collected theories on infant care from ancients to compile this volume. It is both clear and concise, easy to understand and follow. The book states: "As one protects an infant, seeking with sincerity." The *Suwen* (Basic Questions) says: "The sage does not treat diseases that have already occurred but prevents those that have not yet arisen." Mr. Xiaoshan must have deeply comprehended this meaning.
