The pulse is slippery; the left pulse is wiry, thin, and rapid. The Yin aspect is originally deficient, while damp-heat lingers in the Mu Yuan (the area between the exterior and interior), causing dysfunction in the dissemination and transformation of the San Jiao (Triple Burner). The Spleen fails to govern transportation and transformation, and the Stomach fails to descend properly. For over ten days, there has been no bowel movement; the intestines are dry, which differs from ordinary accumulated feces; therefore, one should not hastily resort to purgative methods. Today, the proposed treatment is to regulate the Spleen and harmonize the Stomach, use bitter-cold herbs to drain heat, and use bland-flavored herbs to leach out dampness.
