[Pulse Diagnosis] The pulse for seeking offspring focuses specifically on the Chi (尺) position. If the right Chi pulse is excessively vigorous, it indicates hyperactive ministerial fire and a propensity for lust; if the left Chi pulse is excessively vigorous, it indicates deficiency of Kidney Yin, which is not auspicious. Only when the pulse is deep, slippery, and harmonious is conception likely to occur. A faint and choppy pulse suggests clear and thin semen; combined with a slow pulse, it indicates extreme internal cold. If a faint and choppy pulse is observed, there will be impotence during intercourse. Women's infertility is also indicated by a choppy Chi pulse.
When Heaven and Earth first opened, Yin and Yang differentiated, and among all things, humans are the most spiritual. Humans can comprehend the profound mysteries of Heaven and Earth, reach the hidden depths of sages' wisdom, examine the arts of immortals, and exhaust the roots of creation, knowing everything. From Pangu to the present, reaching the time of Fuxi and Shennong as emperors, the source and flow of Yin-Yang and cosmic cycles were distinguished, and the principles of husband-wife ethics were established. Therefore, throughout the world, whether noble or humble, rich or poor, those without heirs to continue their lineage and without descendants to carry on the family line—can they not feel sorrowful pain? The birth of men and women is fundamentally the profound principle of natural Yin and Yang, not something that can be forced by clever tricks or techniques.
However, in worldly customs, those who establish heirs early consider it normal, while those who have not are considered abnormal. Thus, some profane the gods and ghosts, fast for monks, and give alms to seek offspring, which is extremely foolish. In truth, even a Marquis of ten thousand households cannot inherit his hundred acres of land without an heir; without descendants, who can truly guard this estate? This is tragic. Few people without offspring remain unmoved and do not seek solutions. Hence, Mencius said: "There are three forms of unfilial conduct, of which having no descendants is the greatest." These words are indeed true. Those seeking offspring should rather seek within themselves; the principle is very clear and easy for people to understand. I have privately heard the Yellow Emperor's discussions and verified the secret prescriptions of various schools of immortals. Although these may not be orthodox canonical texts, they represent a certain path. One should only adopt the principles regarding the establishment of fertility, the subtleties of fetal month matching, and the theories of empty Yin and old Yang. Its way specializes in generating males; its secret lies in avoiding sores and rashes; the children will be long-lived and not die young, and even consecutive births of daughters can turn into sons. Those without offspring who emulate these methods often find them effective, with very few failures out of a hundred. Enthusiasts who delve deeply into this not only obtain sons but also encompass arts of boosting Yang, sexual practices, securing essence, taking medicines, and nurturing life, far beyond just discussing the matter of seeking offspring. The great Dao of the human world is the secret of our immortal masters; it truly must not be lightly leaked or exposed. Cherish it! Value it!
The Yellow Emperor said: "Women who reach old age and still cannot bear children or sons/daughters, what is the reason?" It is mostly due to damage to Zang-Fu organs from sexual activity, or obstruction of Tian Gui (menstruation), or cold in the Uterus, or the man's behavior being wild, with weak Yang and scanty sperm, where the cold essence cannot shoot forth, nor can it assist the woman to achieve arousal. This is why growth does not occur. Some women stop sexual activity for six or seven years immediately after childbirth and do not conceive for many years. Why? It is also because the woman suffers from multiple ailments, exhausting her body, leading to irregular meridians. Even if menstruation occurs, it is weak and difficult to receive Yang essence. It is like a host inviting guests without preparation; when many guests arrive, they cannot be entertained, so the host and guest cannot rejoice, and how can the guest stay long? This too makes growth difficult. One must wait until Yang Qi rises, meridians are harmonious, the Uterus is warm, the essence is pure and mature, and vigorous ejaculation mutually assists, then pregnancy can be achieved. Thus, full-term births result in average status, premature births result in poverty and thinness, and post-term births result in nobility and value.
[Discussion on the Auspicious Time for Intercourse by Month and Hour]
A woman's reproductive cycle begins at thirteen and ends at forty-nine. A child born at fifty was conceived at forty-nine. Each of the twelve months has different months for conceiving sons or daughters. According to charts based on the woman's age, there are thirty-seven patterns for intercourse; one can select months for conceiving sons, waiting for the woman's menstrual blood to clear. Menstrual clearance times vary: two and a half days, three days, or even six to seven days for those with abundant blood and Qi; one should not be rigid. Observe the "Treasure Field" (vagina) and check the color of the menstrual discharge. Use a white cloth or cotton, insert it, remove it, and inspect visually. Golden color indicates the auspicious period; bright red means not yet clean and the time is not ripe; pale indicates the time has passed. Only when stale blood is cleared and new blood generates with a golden hue is it the auspicious period. Intercourse at this time invariably leads to pregnancy. If intercourse occurs too early, even if ejaculation happens, excessive Jin-Shui (Metal-Water) causes uterine stagnation, leaving no place for fertilization, making conception difficult. If intercourse occurs too late, the Uterus closes, and there is no entry for the sperm, so how can conception occur? When stale blood is clean, the Uterus is empty, new blood regenerates, and Yang Qi is at its peak, this is the day of the Dry Path (Qian). Ejaculating at this time is like refining gold in a furnace or adding coagulant to tofu; conception happens immediately. It is also said that planting seeds on odd-numbered days after menstruation clears yields sons, and even-numbered days yield daughters; after four days, conception is impossible. Ejaculation should also occur after the Zi hour (11 PM - 1 AM). After the Zi hour, the night air is clear, and one Yang Qi arises. As the ancient saying goes: "Work externally where one Yang moves." Ejaculating at this time follows the Dao to become human; cultivating at this time reverses the Dao to become elixir. If this coincides with clear skies, bright moon, gentle wind, and mild sun, it is an auspicious day. If it also coincides with Heavenly Virtue and Monthly Virtue stars, intercourse on such days not only ensures conception but produces noble children with clear spirit and superior intelligence. Why might choosing a month for daughters yield a son, or vice versa? Due to differences in Yin-Yang cosmic cycles causing errors in fetal Qi. For example, calling a female fetus by a male name, or a male fetus by a female name, and changing names, can ensure longevity.
[Mysteries of Conception and Intercourse]
To obtain beautiful children, one must first pick the Golden Elixir and stimulate emotion by pressing acupoints. To ensure successful conception, one must understand the Way of Intercourse. One must arouse Yang, stir desire, endure the struggle, harvest medicine, use pauses, deliberate carefully, be cautious, and exert effort, then the fetus can form. Before intercourse, to plant the seed, cut red seal paper, burn it to ash, mix with rootless water, and have the woman face east and ingest it before joining. Ensure both husband and wife are slightly intoxicated to enhance interest, or use verbal teasing, hand-and-foot caressing, and intimate touching until the woman blushes and embraces, showing desire arising. If the man's Yang is not yet erect, gather the essence of moonlight and guide it downward with intention to arouse Yang, then engage in sexual play, warming the furnace and forging the sword, riding the horse and playing the zither to attract the Phoenix. Then proceed with intercourse, aiming the turtle at the phoenix. First, hide the Spirit; only physical union, not spiritual union. Keep the vessel upright in sleep, do not lean. If ejaculation occurs, use the Five Character Mantra: Xu, He, Hu, Si, Chui, to guide the Spirit through feelings of harm, benefit, anger, and disgust during intercourse. Wait for the woman to experience pleasure, evidenced by: closed eyes, trembling body, hot cheeks, cool breath from nose and mouth, hands holding tightly. The "beautiful son" draws the bow, inhaling the woman's true Qi through nose and mouth. Then use spiritual union, penetrating deeply with force, striking directly at the Phoenix Spirit Platform. The woman loses control of her limbs, sliding essence flows; this is the peak of female pleasure, when the Uterus opens, and the man ejaculates. If Yang arrives first and envelops Yin, a daughter is born; if Yin descends first and envelops Yang, a son is born. This is called Yin and Yang solidifying and supporting each other. One type yields one child; a hundred types yield a hundred sons; all fetuses form. Remember: when ejaculating, bite the woman's upper lip sharply to startle her, maintain male exhale/female inhale, and hold the sensation of restraining urination/defecation, so essence mixes and forms the fetus. Unknowingly, the Uterus has an acupoint; for males, it is on the left; for females, on the right. Entering the furnace偏向 the left, ejaculation also occurs on the left. After intercourse, let the woman sleep steadily without moving. Curling the left foot and lying on the left side favors male fetuses; curling the right foot and lying on the right side favors female fetuses. During the moment of climax, do not move the body. If intercourse occurs, have the woman urinate beforehand and avoid urinating afterwards; this ensures conception without error. Moreover, if one does not use methods to boost Yang and subdue Yin, if a woman with excess Yin meets an aging man with weak Yang, how can Yin essence arrive first to guarantee a son?
[Secrets of Taboos After Conception]
Once the fetus is formed, the essence of Yin and Yang is pure, fused into one Qi, free of mixed energies. The pulse, essence, blood, and buds are tender and not yet mature; movement easily overcomes and transforms them. One must fear wind-pathogens entering and damaging fetal Qi. Strictly forbid continuous intercourse, carrying heavy loads, crossing dangerous ravines, extreme anger, loud laughter, shock, and speaking loudly. Why? Because the fetus forms: in the first month like white dew, in the second like peach blossoms, and after the third month, male and female differentiate. It should be guarded by stillness and awaited with leisure, hence "stillness with constancy." If intercourse occurs continuously, fetal Qi is disturbed, and wind-pathogens enter the Uterus. Like fruit trees blooming, if exposed to wind, cold, fog, and dew, flowers cannot bear fruit; even if they do, they rot or fall. After conception, continuous intercourse cannot produce a viable child. Even if one conception occurs, it cannot mature fully, leading to miscarriage or umbilical wind, or infestation and falling. Continuous intercourse poisons the fetus, inevitably causing head sores after birth. Be cautious! Avoid!
[Mysteries of Changing Female to Male Before Three Months]
Use peach branches from the southeast as axe handles; the husband opens his eyes to complete it.
Place a knife upward under the pregnant woman's bed; unseen, the male pregnancy forms.
If placed under a brooding nest, the whole nest becomes roosters.
Hang a piece of realgar at the crotch; True Yang faces up, producing an immortal boy.
Pin the Daylily (Yin Nan) on the left hairpin; this flower brings children.
Tie a bowstring around the waist for a hundred days; changing female to male yields thousands.
Cut the husband's hair and fingernails; lie under the mat, and the male turns.
Pull two strands of long tail feathers from a rooster; insert them under the bed, and the male is fixed.
Xuanyuan's wild clouds have been passed down to today; these secrets have all been effective.
The Great Dao of Human Relations is the true secret; do not tell fate unless transmitted by a master.
[Divination of Sex Using Eight Trigrams]
Add and subtract the parents' ages; the month of conception is the master.
Qian, Kan, Gen, Zhen definitely indicate male; Xun, Li, Kun, Dui definitely indicate female.
Calculating male but birthing female leads to death at ages three, six, nine.
Calculating female but birthing male leads to haunting by ghosts eventually.
If it is a correct fetus, longevity needs no mention.
The way of women begins with seeking children. The method for seeking children prioritizes regulating menstruation. Often, women without children have irregular menstruation: either early or late, more or less, pain before onset, pain after onset, purple or black, pale or clotted, and disordered. Disorder leads to conflict between Blood and Qi, preventing conception.
Women without children are often due to deficiency of both Blood and Qi, unable to nourish and sustain Spirit.
Obese people have much phlegm; fat fills and overflows, blocking the Uterus. Treatment requires resolving phlegm, nourishing Blood, and smoothing Qi using Si Wu Tang added with Bai Zhu, Fu Ling, Chen Pi, Zhi Shi, Ban Xia, Sha Ren, Xiang Fu, Gan Cao, and Zhu Li. Thin people have much fire; the Uterus is dry and lacks Blood. Treatment requires clearing heat and nourishing Blood using Si Wu Tang added with Ren Shen, Fu Ling, Huang Qin, Shan Zhi, Xiang Fu, Sheng Di, Gan Cao, and Chen Pi.
[Tiao Jing Zhong Yu Decoction] (Regulates menstruation and seeds; hundred percent effective.)
Dang Gui (wine-washed) 4 qian, Chuan Xiong 4 qian, Shu Di Huang 6 qian, Xiang Fu (stir-fried) 6 qian, Bai Shao (wine-stir-fried) 3 qian, Bai Fu Ling (peeled) 3 qian, Chen Pi 3 qian, Wu Zhu Yu (stir-fried) 4 qian, Mu Dan Pi 3 qian, Yan Hu Suo 3 qian. If menstruation is delayed and pale, indicating Blood deficiency with cold, add Guan Gui, Chao Gan Jiang, and Shu Ai Ye, each 2 qian. If menstruation comes 3-5 days early and is purple, add Tiao Qin 3 qian.
Grind into pieces for four doses. Each dose uses 3 slices of fresh ginger and 1.5 bowls of water, decocted to 1 bowl. Take warm on an empty stomach. Re-decoct the dregs and take before bed. Start taking on the day menstruation arrives, once daily. When the medicine finishes and menstruation stops, intercourse should occur, leading to pregnancy.
