The neck is surrounded by nodules, named "Pan She" (Coiling Snake); if it extends to the chest and axilla with nodules appearing, it is named "Gua Teng" (Melon Vine); swelling and nodules at the root of the left ear are named "Hui Dai" (Hui Bag); swelling and nodules at the root of the right ear are named "Feng Wo" (Honeycomb).
Nodules connected in a chain are called "Luo Li" (Scrofula). Those shaped long like clams are called "Ma Dao" (Horse Knife).
When Luo Li first appears, it must originate from the Shaoyang Meridian. If one does not observe dietary and behavioral restrictions, it will inevitably extend to the Yangming Meridian. Generally, rich and greasy food intake combined with stagnant Qi accumulation leads to the formation of toxins, wind, and heat, which attract and transform into this disease. It is necessary to distinguish between excess and deficiency patterns. For patients with excess patterns, although treatment is relatively easier, unless one strictly avoids rich foods and Qi-dispersing substances, even if it seems easy to treat, it remains difficult to cure, which is quite worrying because this condition belongs to the Gallbladder Meridian, which governs decision-making and contains Ministerial Fire, and is characterized by abundant Qi but scarce Blood. In women, if menstruation ceases accompanied by chills and fever, there is still hope for survival. However, if the condition persists and transforms into tidal fever, the prognosis becomes critical. Unless one abstains from sexual desires, eliminates excessive worry, and maintains a bland diet, even a sage-like physician cannot cure it.

The above herbs are chopped, decocted in water, and taken after meals.
