To treat female infertility. In the past, Fan Shoujin from Jincheng provided this prescription (recorded in *Jingyan*).

Grind the above herbs into a fine powder, mix with refined honey to make pills the size of red beans. Take 50 pills per dose before meals, with warm wine or vinegar water as desired; if there is no effect, increase the number of pills, stop when pregnancy signs are felt. The efficacy is miraculous as described previously, so further citation is omitted.
For amenorrhea for three months, where pregnancy is unknown, verify using this method.
Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, any amount).
Grind the above herb into powder. Mix 2 qian with strongly decocted mugwort water, take on an empty stomach; slight fetal movement indicates pregnancy.
The medical classics state: "When the Yin pulse beats vigorously and differs from the Yang pulse, it is called having a child." 'Beating' means approaching; the Yin pulse approaches below, while the Yang pulse emerges distinctly above. Seeing Yang within Yin indicates that Yang has imparted and Yin has transformed, thus according to the principle, pregnancy should occur. It is also stated that if the Shaoyin pulse beats intensely, one is pregnant. The Hand-Shaoyin channel belongs to the Heart, and the Foot-Shaoyin channel belongs to the Kidney. The Heart governs Blood, and the Kidney governs Essence. When essence and blood intersect, and consciousness merges therein, conception occurs. Furthermore, if the pulses at the three positions are floating and sinking equally normal, and the person is free from disease, it indicates pregnancy. Other details follow the description in *Mai Jing* (Pulse Classic).
If a woman has chronic wind-cold and phlegm-fluid retention in the Zhongwan region, causing menstrual channels to stagnate, fluid and blood contend, often leading to morning sickness (Ezu). The condition presents with normal facial color; when the pulse rhythm is smooth, the patient is unaware of the illness's location but feels heavy limbs and dizzy head/eyes, dislikes food odors, craves salty and sour flavors. By the third or fourth month, symptoms worsen significantly, with uncontrollable vomiting and retching, excessive sleeping, and little rising. This is due to menstrual blood being closed off, water dampness soaking the zang organs, preventing the free flow of organ qi, causing head stuffiness and blockage of meridians, hence heavy limbs. If accompanied by wind, there is dizziness; if fluid retention remains, there is frequent vomiting.
