The patient, due to consuming spicy and hot foods, suffers from heat-dryness damaging the Lung. Blood overflows upon heating, leading to vomiting with blood loss of approximately one *ge* or half a *sheng*, a condition named Feiju (Lung Abscess/Tubercle causing hematemesis).
If the injury affects the Fu organs, it belongs to the Stomach; if it affects the Zang organs, it belongs to the Lung.
Distinguishing by these upper locations requires thorough investigation.
Treatment for Feiju hematemesis and reckless bleeding:
Hongzao (Jujube fruit, burnt with seeds to retain charred nature) Baiyaojian (Fermented Medicinal Leaven), each in equal parts.
Grind into fine powder. Take two *qian* per dose, mixed with rice soup.
When patients suffer falls or sprains, injuring the five Zang organs, causing rupture and bleeding, which stagnates in the Zhongwan region: if the Zang is hot, bright red blood is vomited; if the Zang is cold, dark clotted blood resembling bean paste juice is vomited. This is termed Neishang (Internal Injury). Each has its specific treatment.
Treatment for bruises and injuries where damaged blood flows into the stomach cavity, causing vomiting of black blood or fluid resembling bean paste juice:
Chuanxiong (Szechuan Lovage Rhizome) Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Radix) Baishaoyao (White Peony Root) Baihe (Lily Bulb, soaked in water for half a day) Jingjiesui (Perilla Leaf Spike), each in equal parts.
Cut into pieces to make a powder. Take four *qian* per dose, with one cup of water and half a cup of wine, decocted to seven-tenths volume. Strain and take at any time.
When patients fall, leaving evil blood inside, or due to great anger, causing [sweat-blood] warmth to stagnate and not disperse, resulting in pain in both hypochondria, [weak/painful] legs, swelling of bone joints, and rebellious Qi failing to descend, all are caused by blood stasis inside. Each has its specific treatment.
Treatment for falling from heights or being crushed by wood and stone. For any injury where blood stasis coagulates and accumulates, Qi is cut off and near death; as well as long-standing accumulated blood stasis causing restlessness, pain, and inability to cry out, use this medicine to purge the blood stasis for recovery. This medicine pushes out the old and generates the new, showing miraculous efficacy for fractures and injuries.
Dahuang (Rhubarb Root, one liang, steamed with wine) Xingren (Apricot Seed, thirty-seven grains, skin and tips removed).
Grind finely. Use one bowl of wine, decoct to six-tenths volume. When the bowl cracks, strain. Take at cock-crow time. The next day, discharged blood stasis leads to recovery; if suddenly feeling Qi cessation and unable to speak, taking medicine is too late: urgently pry open the mouth and灌 (irrigate/force-feed) with hot urine.
Patients may, due to incomplete sweating therapy, or incomplete resolution of hematemesis and epistaxis, have blood stasis accumulating inside, causing yellow complexion and white lips, black stool, weak legs and asthma, and even severe mania and oppression, all caused by blood stasis. Each has its specific treatment.
