Papaveris Pericarpium is not recorded in Bencao as treating dysentery, but recent use shows extreme efficacy, its merit not inferior to Sanguisorbae Radix, Phellodendri Cortex, or Fraxini Cortex, but its nature is astringent and tight, causing vomiting if taken improperly, which must be known.
