The "Treatise on Sanxiao" (Three Wasting-Thirst Syndromes) was authored by Liu Hejian. Since Master Ma Zhengjun resided in Bianliang, during his leisure time he visited the descendants of Mr. Liu. Someone suggested that he seek instruction from medical practitioners, referring to the lineage of Mr. Liu. Master Ma planned to visit their home to request the遗害 (left-behind manuscripts) composed by Mr. Liu in his lifetime. Consequently, three books were presented: *Sanxiao Lun* (Treatise on Three Wasting-Thirst Syndromes), *Qi Yi* (Appropriateness of Qi), and *Bing Ji* (Pathological Mechanisms). The parts not yet circulated in the world had incomplete texts. Only *Sanxiao Lun* was selected; two diagrams, the "Six Positions Diagram" (Liù Wèi Tú) and the "Zang-Fu Image Diagram" (Zàng Xiàng Tú), were added to the beginning of the volume. The remaining parts were left unpolished due to lack of time and were handed over to his friend Mu Zizhao.
Zizhao was a descendant of Mu Dahuang, a disciple of Hejian. At that time, he was seeking an official position in the capital but was facing financial difficulties. Master Ma wished to benefit him through this opportunity, and thus I received a copy from Zizhao. Later, due to war and fire, the transmission of this text was lost.
Accidentally, while at the residence of my fellow townsman, Official Huo Sicheng Junxiang, I encountered the text again. However, the copied version contained many errors. I merely transcribed it based on the original model and delivered it to future students for detailed correction and publication.

This prescription was examined by Zhang Hezi, who stated it is a heavy-dose formula and can be used. Master Wu has personally verified its efficacy.
