Treating heat-stroke (Shangshu), presenting with vexation and thirst, drinking excessively. Also treats cold damage and warm-heat diseases where exterior and interior pathogens have not yet resolved, presenting with vexation and thirst desiring water, but vomiting immediately after drinking. Or when urination is difficult and sweating has occurred resolving the exterior, yet vexation and thirst persist. It also treats cholera with vomiting and diarrhea, jaundice, and warm epidemics.

Take two qian per dose, mix with boiling water, take at any time. After taking, drink plenty of hot water; recovery occurs with sweating. For warm-heat diseases, add Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) one qian.
Take one salted plum per dose. For red dysentery, use one Wumei (Mume Fructus), two Suke (Papaveris Pericarpium), remove the stem and inner membrane, stir-fry with vinegar. For white dysentery, use two Suke (Papaveris Pericarpium), process as above, plus a pinch of Sumi (Oryza Sativa). For abdominal pain, add Nanmuxiang (Costi Rhizoma) half a qian. For thirst, add one Wumei (Mume Fructus), two Piye (Loquat Leaf), remove white hairs, plus a pinch of Nuomi (Oryza Sativa Glutinosa). For summer-dampness diarrhea, use five leaves of Zisu (Perillae Folium), three slices of Mugua (Chaenomelis Fructus), and a pinch of Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen). For heat-stroke causing headache, decoct Congbai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus) strongly. For watery stool and difficult urination, add a small amount of real Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen) powder. Another prescription for treating dry thirst: remove Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex) and add Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), called Chunze Tang (Spring Marsh Decoction).
