Treats wind-stroke of the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian, with a pulse that is floating on the Yang position and weak on the Yin position. Floating on the Yang indicates spontaneous heat; weak on the Yin indicates spontaneous sweating. The patient feels chilly (se-se) with aversion to cold, shivery (sa-sa) with aversion to wind, feverish (xi-xi) as if covered by feathers, accompanied by nasal congestion (bi-ming) and dry retching. Furthermore, Taiyang syndrome is suitable for diaphoresis (sweating therapy); if the person has lost blood or suffers from diarrhea, this formula should be administered frequently to moisten the body, and it should resolve spontaneously after several days.
Guizhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction): Guizhi (Ramulus Cinnamomi, peeled), Shaoyao (Radix Paeoniae Alba, each 3 liang), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, 1 liang).
Crush these into a powder. Take 2 qian per dose, with 1.5 zhan of water, 3 slices of Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens), and 1 Dazao (Fructus Jujubae) broken open. Decoct together until reduced to 0.7 zhan, remove the dregs, and take warm at any time.
Or add Shengma...
Treats wind-stroke of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian, characterized by anorexia, bitter taste in the mouth, dry throat, abdominal fullness, slight asthma, fever, aversion to wind, spontaneous sweating, lethargy, heaviness of the body, difficulty in urination, tidal fever, and hiccups. If the pulse is floating, wiry, long, and rapid, this formula governs all these conditions.
Xingren (Semen Armeniacae Amarum, peeled and tip removed), Banxia (Rhizoma Pinelliae, washed in decoction to remove slipperiness), Wuweizi (Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis, each 3.5 qian), Shaoyao (Radix Paeoniae Alba), Guixin (Cortex Cinnamomi), Xixin (Herba Asari), Ganjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Preparatum, processed), Dahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei Preparatum)...

Treats wind-stroke of the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian after four or five days, characterized by fever, aversion to wind, stiffness of the neck and nape, fullness under the hypochondrium, warmth of the hands and feet, bitter taste in the mouth, and thirst. The pulse is floating on the Yang and wiry on the Yin. Or, if excessive sweating leads to loss of Yang spirit (Wang Yang) and delirious speech, this formula can harmonize Ying and Wei (Nutritive and Defensive Qi) and unblock fluids, leading to self-healing.
Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri, 1 liang 3 qian), Banxia (Rhizoma Pinelliae, washed in decoction to remove slipperiness, 4 qian 1 zi), Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata, honey-fried, 3 qian 1 zi), Shaoyao (Radix Paeoniae Alba), Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae), Renshen (Radix Ginseng)...
