Chan Su (Toad Venom, 1 qian), Sheng Fuzi Jiao (Raw Aconite Root Horn, size of a soybean, ground into powder), Badou (Croton Seed, 1 seed, husked and ground), Shexiang (Musk, a small amount).
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder, mix evenly, and form pills using steamed wheat dough, sized like millet or beans. Wrap one pill in new cotton wool and hold it in the mouth; if saliva is produced, spit it out.
Treatment as above.
Xeshao (Scorpion Tail Tip, 1 piece, poison not removed), Fuzi Qi (Aconite Root Navel), Wugong Tou (Centipede Head, mouth and poison glands removed), Chuan Wutou Jian (Tip of Sichuan Aconite Root, 2 pieces each).
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. First, prick the gums with a bamboo stick to induce slight bleeding, then apply a grain-of-millet-sized amount of the powder on the painful area using a paper twist. For severe cases, effectiveness is usually seen within two or three applications.
To treat wind-induced toothache, characterized by swollen and ulcerated gums, loose teeth, and swelling and pain in the cheeks and jaw.
Caowu (Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, 2 liang each); Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba, 1 liang each); Hongjiao (Fructus Capsici), Yazao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina), Leshi (Artemisiae Carvifoliae Herba), Bibo (Piperis Longi Fructus), Suosharen (Amomi Fructus Rotundus, half a liang each).

Add Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) and Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus), decoct with Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), Zaozi (Jujubae Fructus), and Wumei (Mume Fructus) to treat toothache caused by toxic phlegm. Additionally, use Pianzi Jianghuang (Curcumae Longae Rhizoma) and Bibo (Piperis Longi Fructus) in equal proportions, decoct, and when warm, soak the tongue in the liquid to allow saliva to flow naturally. For treating gum recession: if the color is bright red, use Ganlu Yin (Sweet Dew Decoction); if dark red (indicating blood stasis), use Shuanghe Tang (Double Harmony Decoction). Additionally, stir-fry with salt mud, grind into powder, and rub on the teeth. (Formulas found in Large Department Section: Accumulated Heat and Deficiency Categories.)
