Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix (Caowu), Aconiti Chinensis Radix (Chuanwu), Pinelliae Rhizoma (Banxia), Arisaematis Rhizoma preparatum with fresh ginger and alum (Sheng Nanting), and Toad Venom (Chansu) each one qian; Strychni Semen (Fanmubie), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Baizhi), and Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina (Yazao) each three fen.
Grind the above medicines into powder together. When needed, mix with water and apply topically for the duration of a meal; surgical incisions performed at this time will be painless.
Gengsheng notes: Caowu and Chuanwu should use the tip portion; Banxia should be used in its raw state, or pepper powder may also be used. Mixing with distilled liquor accelerates the effect.
For any subcutaneous ulcers or tinea requiring excision, administer this medicine first to induce insensibility to pain, then proceed with surgical incision, followed by the application of flesh-regenerating medicines. Daphne odora root (Yangzhizhu) three qian, Jasmine flower root (Molihua Gen) one qian, Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui) one liang, Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Changpu) three fen. Three days after skin grafting, decoct Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) five qian, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Sheng Gancao) three qian, Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chenpi) five fen, Pinelliae Rhizoma (Banxia) one qian, Cynanchi Stauntonii Radix (Baiwei) one qian, Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Changpu) five fen, and Poria (Fuling) five qian in water; consumption will restore consciousness.

This method is also applicable for tumor excision, promoting new skin growth upon application. For post-excision topical powder application totaling five qian, which not only prevents pain but induces pruritus: Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) one qian, Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma powder (Sanqi Gen Mo) three qian, Calomelas (Qingfen) five fen, Draco Sanguis (Qilin Xuejie) three qian, Elephas Dermis (Xiangpi) one qian, Boswellia Carterii Resin (Ruxiang, de-oiled) one qian, Myrrha (Moyao) one qian, Calcitum (Qiannian Duanshi) three qian, Aucklandiae Radix powder (Guang Muxiang) one qian, Borneolum Syntheticum (Bingpian) three fen, and Camptotheca fructus (Ercha) two qian.

Generally speaking, carbuncles and sores occurring on the back, crown of the head, chest, abdomen, hands, feet, arms, legs, waist, umbilicus, anterior genitalia, or anus can be resolved immediately after a single dose; already ulcerated lesions will promptly heal and close.
Honeysuckle Flower (Jinyinhua) four liang, Taraxaci Herba (Pugongying) one liang, Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui) two liang, Scrophulariae Radix (Yuanshen). Decoct in five bowls of water until reduced to eight parts. Take on an empty stomach. One dosage is sufficient to completely eliminate the pathology. Do not disdain the heavy dosage or reduce the amounts, as efficacy will be halved.
Gengsheng notes: This formula is highly effective for dissipating redness, swelling, carbuncle toxins, furuncles, and symptoms of high swelling and pain. However, it is contraindicated for conditions presenting as flat, numb, and pale.
