Jing disease (Spasm/Stiffness) refers to a condition where, after trauma, wind pathogen enters the wound, causing the body to become stiff and extended, unable to flex. To treat it, stir-fry salt until yellow, take one dou (a unit of volume), wrap it in cloth, rapidly quench it in strong wine, immerse it thirty times then immediately remove it, cover with cloth, and use it to moxa-iron (hot compress) the head. Heat it up, lift it, then put it down. If it becomes cold, replace with freshly heated salt for ironing; do not interrupt the ironing process. After one session of ironing, if cold sweat appears and is profuse, and the body can flex and extend freely, stop. During the ironing and for four days thereafter, keep warm and avoid wind exposure; after four days, it will naturally be comfortable. The timing of ironing can be done either before or after meals at will. There are no dietary restrictions or specific time limitations.
Another method: For trauma-induced neck stiffness (Jing), boil plum fruits in water slightly until they boil vigorously, then remove them, clarify the liquid to obtain the juice, cool and mix it, and have the patient drink it, administering multiple times daily. If the condition is severe and the patient cannot swallow, forcibly open their mouth and administer the liquid by force. If plums are unavailable, decoct other similar materials, drink the juice, using the same quantity as the plums. There are no restrictions; this may be tried.
Another method: For various traumas where wind pathogen enters the wound, causing swelling and pain (Yong abscess), cover the wound with cotton wadding, soak it in the juice of rendered pork fat, repeatedly pour it over, ensuring the grease does not cease, to drive out cold pathogen, fill the wound cavity, and cover with cloth. Apply the medicine either before or after meals at will. There are no restrictions or fixed times.
Another method: For trauma-induced neck stiffness (Jing), take one small dog, combine it with half a dou of Scallion Bulb (Xiebai), without removing its feet, place them together in well water, soak, then remove, and dry in the shade for one hundred days. For those suffering from neck stiffness, grind the dried material, take a pinch amount held by three fingers, mix with one cup of warm wine, and administer to the patient.
Another method: For trauma-induced limb stiffness (Jing), select one handful of Scallion Bulb (Xiebai), boil it in half a dou of pure wine, and have the patient drink it. Then, wear a padded jacket and sit in a warm environment until sweat reaches the feet, then the illness will resolve.
Another method: Mix equal parts of Scutellaria Root (Huangqin) and Licorice Root (Gancao), add sufficient lard to fry/decoct. When boiling, filter through cloth, extract the juice, and apply externally to the affected area.
