If the pulse is slippery and the hands and feet are warm, the prognosis is good; if the pulse is choppy and the hands and feet are cold, the prognosis is fatal. Qi is constrained by fire, leading to phlegm accumulation in the lungs and stomach. There are cases with phlegm, cases with flaming fire, and cases of yin deficiency. Generally, when wheezing has not yet occurred, the primary approach is to tonify healthy qi; once it occurs, the primary approach is to attack the pathogenic factor. In phlegm-wheezing, wheezing is accompanied by phlegm sounds. In pure wheezing, breathing is rapid without phlegm sounds. In cases of wheezing due to stomach qi deficiency, the patient lifts their shoulders and draws in their neck, with continuous wheezing. In fire-wheezing, symptoms fluctuate, improving after eating and worsening immediately after eating.
