Treat hematemesis (vomiting blood) and epistaxis (nosebleed) caused by excessive Yang over Yin, leading to reckless movement of heat-blood. This is the Daquan Liangfang, which is very effective.
Raw Lotus Leaf (He Ye), Raw Mugwort Leaf (Ai Ye), Raw Biota Leaf (Bai Ye), Raw Rehmannia Root (Sheng Di Huang) (equal amounts).
Grind these ingredients until paste-like, forming pills the size of a chicken egg. Take one pill per dose, decoct in three zhong of water until reduced to one zhong, then take warm.
Another prescription: For cases where hematemesis occurs first, followed by expectoration of phlegm with cough. This indicates Yin deficiency with fire agitation, causing phlegm to fail to descend.
Angelica Sinensis Root (Dang Gui), Szechuan Lovage Rhizome (Chuan Xiong), Peony Root (Shao Yao), Raw Rehmannia Root (Sheng Di Huang) (each 2.5 qian), Gardenia Fruit (Zhi Zi, stir-fried), Fritillaria Bulb (Bei Mu), Trichosanthes Root (Tian Hua Fen) (each 1 qian), Moutan Bark (Mu Dan Pi) (8 fen).
Another prescription: Treats cases where expectoration of phlegm with cough precedes bleeding, indicating heat accumulation from phlegm stagnation.
Anemarrhena Rhizome (Zhi Mu, de-haired), Fritillaria Bulb (Bei Mu, de-core), Trichosanthes Seed (Gua Lou Ren, stir-fried), Sheng Di, Peony Root (Shao Yao) (each 1 qian), Gardenia Fruit (Zhi Zi, stir-fried, 1.2 qian), Trichosanthes Root (Tian Hua Fen) (2.5 qian), Ophiopogon Tuber (Mai Dong) (1 qian).
Decoct these ingredients in water, take warm after meals (with some delay), and decoct the dregs again for subsequent use.
Treats severe loss of blood from any cause, resulting in vertigo and unconsciousness.
Szechuan Lovage Rhizome (Xiong), Angelica Sinensis Root (Dang Gui).
Grind into powder, take 2 qian per dose, decoct and take.
Another prescription: Treats persistent bleeding accompanied by weak Spleen and Stomach and low spirit after hemorrhage.
Ginseng Radix (Ren Shen) (1 qian), Astragalus Membranaceus Root (Huang Qi) (2 qian), Schisandra Berry (Wu Wei Zi) (13 grains), Angelica Sinensis Root (Dang Gui), Ophiopogon Tuber (Mai Dong) (each 5 fen), Curcuma Aromatica Rhizome (Yu Jin) (5 fen). Decoct in water, take warm.
Another prescription: Treats spontaneous bleeding from the lower lip like a thread that does not stop. Apply burnt grass residue (Bai Cao Shuang) as powder to stop it immediately; subsequently administer Siwu Jiedu Tang for four doses to achieve recovery.
Treats hematemesis and epistaxis.
Take "Shaonian Fa Shao" (a specific processed herb, likely referring to a specific preparation or typo for a heat-clearing herb, literally 'Young person fever preserved nature'), grind into powder, mix with rice drink and take 2 qian. For epistaxis, insufflate a small amount into the nose.
Another prescription: Treats bleeding from tooth gaps due to depression of Yin Qi.
Siwu Tang added with Achyranthes Bidentata Root (Niu Xi), Cyperus Rotundus Rhizome (Xiang Fu), Raw Licorice Root (Sheng Gan Cao), and Biota Leaf (Ce Bai Ye). Decoct and take.
Treats hematemesis accompanied by fever, cough, chest pain, and vertigo/dizziness of head and eyes.
Szechuan Lovage Rhizome (Chuan Xiong), Angelica Sinensis Root (Dang Gui), Rehmannia Root (Sheng Di), Peony Root (Shao Yao, stir-fried), Platycodon Root (Jie Geng), Kudzu Root (Gan Ge), Tangerine Peel (Chen Pi), Peucedanum Root (Qian Hu), Perilla Leaf (Zi Su) (each 1 qian), Pinellia Tuber (Ban Xia) (1 fen), Aurantium Fruit (Zhi [Ke]).
