Treats conditions following hemorrhage, or injuries caused by the Seven Emotions (Joy, Anger, Worry, Pensive-ness, Sorrow, Fear, Fright), as well as Qi stagnation occurring in women after childbirth or menstruation.
Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao), Rehmanniae Radix Preparata (Dihuang), Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum (Muxiang), Arecae Semen (Binglang).
Decoct the above herbs with one and a half zhong of water. For cases involving Yin deficiency with Qi stagnation, remove Muxiang and Binglang, and add Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen), Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai), and Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhike).
Treats all types of disharmony of Qi in men and women. These are often caused by worry, pensive-ness, or anger injuring the Shen (Spirit), or feeling sorrowful while eating, or circumstances not going as desired, causing stagnant Qi to remain and not disperse. This Qi accumulates between the chest and diaphragm, failing to flow smoothly, resulting in chest fullness and oppression, distension of the hypochondrium, dysphagia, belching with acid regurgitation, vomiting, hiccups, nausea, dizziness of the head and eyes, lassitude of the four limbs, sallow complexion, bitter taste in the mouth and dry tongue, reduced appetite, gradual emaciation, functional constipation due to large intestine deficiency, or post-illness abdominal fullness with loss of appetite. All these are treated with this formula.
Akebia Caulis (Mutong), Paeoniae Radix Rubra (Chishao), Poria (Chifuling), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Guangui), Pinelliae Tuber (Banxia), Mori Cortex (Sangbaipi), Arecae Pericarpium (Dafupi), Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chenpi), Citri Reticulatae Viride (Qingpi), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao), Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo) (each 2 liang).
Take 1 liang per dose, decoct with two zhong of water, three slices of Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang), two Jujubae Fructus (Zao), and fifteen stems of Junci Medulla (Dengxin).
Another prescription: Treats internal excess heat with Ministerial Fire (Xianghuo) rushing upward, presenting symptoms similar to Qi stagnation.

Decoct the above herbs with one and a half zhong of water.

Grind the above into powder, form pills using Asafoetida (Ewei) dough paste, sized like Euryale Seed (Qianshi). For every jin of medicine, coat with 7 qian of Cinnabar (Zhusha). Take 3-5 pills per dose. Treats male Qi pain.
Treats turbid Qi remaining in the upper jiao, which generates abdominal distension. Regular consumption is excellent for relaxing the middle and benefiting the diaphragm.
