Luo Li (Scrofula) belongs to blood and qi issues, caused by phlegm-heat. It must originate from the Shaoyang channel; if taboos are not observed, it extends to the Yangming channel. Generally, due to rich flavors in diet and accumulation of stagnation, termed as toxin, wind, and heat, these three aspects expand and transform. One must distinguish between excess and deficiency; excess is easier to treat, while deficiency is concerning. Since it belongs to the Gallbladder channel, which governs decision-making, and has abundant qi but scarce blood.
