Treats carbuncles, sores, and all kinds of skin infections, regardless of the duration of the disease or whether pus has formed. For "Fa Bei" (severe carbuncle on the back), first wash the affected area with warm water, dry it with a soft cloth, and apply the plaster spread on red silk. Additionally, form pills and swallow them with cold water. For qi and blood stagnation, take with warm water. For leukorrhea (red and white vaginal discharge), take with Dang Gui wine. For throat obstruction, coughing, and "Chan Hou Feng" (acute pharyngitis with difficulty breathing), wrap a pill in new cotton wool and hold it in the mouth to dissolve slowly. For various wind-heat induced red eyes, shape into small cakes and apply to the Taiyang acupoint, while taking Gardeniae Fructus Decoction externally/orally. For traumatic injuries from falls or blows, apply externally and take internally, washed down with Tangerine Peel Decoction. For lower back and knee pain, apply to the affected area, taken with Salt Water Decoction. For hemoptysis, take with Mulberry Root Bark Decoction. Coated with Clam Powder, this plaster can be stored for ten years without spoiling; the longer it is stored, the more potent it becomes. It also treats scrofula (tuberculous lymphadenitis) and sores; wash and apply with salt water, and take with wine. For women with amenorrhea, take with Licorice Root Decoction. For all types of scabies, boil Sesame Oil until boiling, take a small amount, mix with the plaster, and apply. For bites from tigers, dogs, snakes, or scorpions, and injuries from fire, knives, or axes, it can be taken internally. External application is also highly effective.
Scutellaria Barbata Root (Xuanshen), Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui), Red Peony Root (Chishao), Cinnamon Twig (Rougui), Rhubarb Rhizome (Dahuang), Rehmannia Root (Shengdihuang), Angelica Dahurica Root (Baizhi) [must be authentic, each precisely weighed at 1 liang].
Take 2 jin of pure Sesame Oil, add the herbs, and fry in a clay pot until they turn dark yellow. Remove the dregs, weigh out 2 jin of clean oil, add 1 jin of Calcined Minium (Feidan), and continue boiling.
Treats fever caused by sores, swelling, toxicity, and pain.
Rhubarb Rhizome (Dahuang), Phellodendron Bark (Huangbai), Curcuma Aromatica Rhizome (Yujin), Bletilla Rhizome (Baiji), Arisaema Rhizome (Nanxing), Mirabilite (Puxiao), Malva Sieversiana Flower (Huangshukui) [optional if unavailable].
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Mix 2 qian of the powder with fresh well water, stir evenly, let settle, discard the clear water on top, and apply the remaining paste.
Another prescription: Treats Yin-type carbuncles on the back (sores that do not present with redness, swelling, or heat). Use the comb of a rooster, snip off the tip slightly, hold it head-down to let blood drip into the sore. Replace when the blood runs out. Using no more than five or six chickens will stop pain, eliminate toxins, and allow self-healing within a few days.
Another prescription: Highly effective for treating carbuncles on the back. Mix raw honey with raw wheat flour to make a cake, apply to the sore. When the cake dries, replace it three to five times until healed. If there is an opening in the sore, apply directly over the opening.
